If you want to stay near the action and have easy access to sites and restaurants, this is your place. We walked out the door and there were great restaurants right there - Poogan's Smokehouse & Rudy Royale and within easy walking distance H Bakery , Cru Cafe & Le Farfalle and plenty more! If you want history tours, some started right across the street or carriage rides, 2 blocks away. All the lovely Charleston homes also with easy walking distance. This hotel is directly across from the Marketplace. The rooms are quite large and comfortable with very generous bathrooms. Hotel staff always have a friendly hello or smile for you. Free breakfast is pastries, fruit and coffee served on your floor. If that doesn't satisfy you, there are plenty of coffee shops in the area. The roof top deck has some loungers for the small pool and a good size seating area for food and a bar. Very popular with tourists and locals. There really isn't a need for a car unless you want to go to the local beaches. We did do a harbor cruise from the Maritime Center about a 10-15 minute walk. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and recommend.…
Great location, spacious room and bath, comfortable bed. Convenient breakfast cart near the elevators on our floor, along with cookies and fresh fruit the rest of the day. Valet parking was quick and easy. Nice vibe at the rooftop bar/restaurant. Thanks to Susanne Cohen and staff for a gracious visit.
Beautiful hotel. The staff was so friendly and warm. Room was super clean and nicely decorated. The hotel was perfectly situated and close to everything so we never had to use our car. Every morning a lovely woman (Juleen, I believe) had hot coffees, teas, orange juice, muffins, pastries, croissants and fresh fruit placed near the elevator to start the day. Coffee, tea, fruit and cookies remained there for a pick-me-up snack during the afternoon. Thank you to all that made our vacation so delightful!! We will definitely stay here again!
Two points of note. 1. If you are offered Room 209 (or I believe 207/11/13/15/17), Just Say No. It is at car park level, overlooking the car park. So it is basically in the car park. This is not what you came to Charleston to see. Also beware the "we only have the corner suite at $800 a night available" routine. After much fuss, a better room became available at no extra cost. 2. Rooftop bar a major let-down. All the tables separated by flappy plastic sheeting, presumably to stop Covids jumping from one table to the next. As a result, ambience is more Testing Centre than party venue. Otherwise fine, but no better than that.
What a great hotel. We had a spontaneous trip to Charleston and eve as a Marriott Titanium Elite Member I couldn't find a hotel room. Panicked, as we were arriving in Charleston the next day, we selected the Market Pavilion Hotel. WOW were we surprised and VERY happy with the find. The front desk team was great and Holly was fantastic. She helped us navigate the town, restaurants and as we were celebrating my retirement she updated us to a corner room. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were vert luxurious. The roof top was spectacular... plenty of seats at the bar and around the entire roof including pool lounge chairs for hotel guests. We also ate at Grille 225 where the steaks were great. If/when we come back to Charleston we will definitely stay at this hotel again. If you got... ENJOY!!!…
This is an ideal location for historic Charleston. It is right next to the market place and lots of restaurants. It is a close walk to the waterfront, Rainbow Row, and a lot of other attractions. The staff at the hotel are very pleasant. We stayed on the 3rd floor overlooking the market. In the evening, we can hear some music in the background but it didn't bother us. The room was clean, and there was coffee/tea available on each floor near the elevator until 4-5pm. There was continental breakfast set up on each floor until 10am and cookies around 3pm. There is no coffee maker in the room, so if you want a hot beverage after they put away the coffee and hot water, you will need to call for service. There is no mini-fridge either, for those who want to bring their own cold beverage. Also, there is no other option for breakfast other than the pastries they provided every morning. If you wanted eggs or other breakfast options, you would have to go out - no room service option for breakfast when we were there. Fruits were always available on every floor throughout the day/night - apples, oranges, tangerines, bananas. Parking is valet only and was $35 a night. Overall, the location and staff are the best part of the hotel. Checking in on a weekday, our room was not ready until 4:20pm when check-in time was 3pm. So we waited well over an hour to get into our room. Upon checkout, it took about 20 minutes to get our car, even when there were no other cars being brought up - there was only 1 bellman/valet working that morning. We would stay here again, on weekdays or at off-peak prices, because for the amenities they offer, the weekend prices are too high. The staff are well trained, smiled, and greeted guests in a courteous manner. We have been to many high end hotels where the staff were not as welcoming as those at the Market Pavilion Hotel. Great service and manners leave a long lasting impression.…
We absolutely loved this hotel and the staff was AMAZING!!! Our room was beautiful, the staff on the 3rd floor took care of us especially Mercaline, who was WONDERFUL! Coffeebar on each floor and pastries in the morning were great. Close to everything in the historic district. We will be back! Rooftop bar is cool too.
After a long day of travel my girlfriend and I were welcomed with open arms. Rooms are elegant and cozy. Daily housekeeping with turn down service is standard which is a rare occurrence these days. Continental Breakfast, Coffee/Tea, Fruit and afternoon treats on each floor. The bar downstairs is classy and the view from the rooftop bar is the best in the area. Did not have a chance to dine in the restaurant, but the appetizers we ordered in the bar were on-point. The staff was super friendly and went above and beyond! Special shout out to Haley who was super helpful on our last day.
Beautiful historic hotel right in the center of historic Charleston and a block off the water. The beauty of the rooms and common areas were only bested by the hospitality and friendly staff. Truly one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at worldwide.
This hotel is so comfortable! It is centrally located, and we love staying here. It is quiet, and they take care of your every need. The evening cookies are great, and the morning pastries and coffee are on each floor. The rooftop is wonderful! You can eat, drink, and swim. This is our go-to. It is a classy, homey hotel!!!
