Stayed a few days after Independence day. Arrived during a rainstorm and the bellperson was very helpful! Check in was great with no wait. Parking is extra $ and there are some indoors, some outdoors. Location is perfect - in the middle of Charleston - not downtown though! King St. shopping is just a few blocks away and goes both north and south so it was fun to do a loop. The outdoor pool area was cute but we never went in. I think there were one or two weddings at the hotel that weekend so it was pretty busy and booked! Room was clean and spacious and fairly quiet (we were at the end of the hallway). A/C individual guest-controlled and was great. There was a small sofa for lounging, which was perfect. Bathroom was spacious with lots of counter space. Walk-in shower. Standalone small toiletries. Good water pressure. Overall a great stay! It may lack a little in terms of Charleston charm (may stay at a B&B next time), but it was a wonderful stay overall and I'd definitely be back!

First off, I'm old school. I expect and require a clean room/hotel. I also expect good customer service. Service is all too often lacking in today's world. Courtyard Charleston Historic District delivered on both and even excelled in the service area. Clean, well appointed rooms. Staff were helpful and friendly. The location was great. 2 blocks from the Gaillard Center, 2 blocks from great dinning on King street, 4 blocks to the aquarium and 5 to the wharf and Ft Sumter ferry. About 6 blocks down to the straw market. All this within waking distance. The only down side from me is the breakfast. It's good but limited selection and they serve Starbuck's coffee. Hate Starbucks, but I know I'm in the minority on that. There is an in room coffee maker, which worked much better for me. Internet was slow but that's because they want you to pay to upgrade to their Hi-Speed service, I'm sure. Internet served the purpose. Room rate was a little pricy but all downtown hotels are. No doubt's about returning, for sure.

I stayed here for three nights in June and it was absolutely perfect. Keisha helped take our bags until our rooms were ready and provided us some great advice on where we could have a few afternoon drinks. The rest of the staff was just as wonderful and friendly. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and provide a great sleep (I joked with my friend recently that I had not slept since Charleston). Not to mention that the hotel has a nice little pool to help cool off on hot days. The location is perfect; minutes walk to everything you would want to see, and great restaurants on both ends.

We stayed here for 4 days while vacationing in Charleston. The hotel is very convenient to everything. We were able to walk to just about every place that we wanted to go. The room was very comfortable and clean. We will definitely stay here again when we visit Charleston again.

My family stayed at this hotel for 6 nights during the hot and humid month of August. The hotel was very clean and looked new or recently refurbished. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Below are some highlights from our stay: Our room was in the newer wing of the hotel and it was very nice. The wall air-conditioner unit worked very well to cool our room, and wasn't too loud at night. The room was very quite also, although I think that was because we didn't have any adjacent occupied rooms. The location of the hotel was on what I consider the extreme Fringe of the historic district. It was about a 1/2 mile walk down Meeting St to get to the interesting part of the French quarter. The room came with a small fridge which barely kept my son's milk cold. The room didn't have a microwave oven, but there is one downstairs by the hotel's pantry which you can use. Bistro on-site for ordering breakfast meals, as well as lunch and dinner. On our first night we ordered a grilled cheese sandwich & tomato soup along with a baked pasta dish which were good. On-site parking is available for $25/day. Starbucks coffee barista in the lobby. The Pool was refreshing after the long walking tours through the historic district. If you forgot anything, there is a large Walgreens just one block down the street that sells drugstore items as well as various sundries, milk, water, suntan lotion, bug repellent, etc. Quite a few restaurants within walking distance, although most seemed to be bar & grill type food. In summary, my family enjoyed our stay at the Courtyard and I would definitely stay here again in the future.
