Hotel is clean and updated. Felt very comfortable sleeping here. Rooms are very nice. Staff is great. However, we had no tv for our entire visit, our air wasn’t working for a full day, (alternative room was next to elevator), our door lock jammed every time we opened it, and in fact didn’t close the first night we left the room! They offered no credit to our $579 sat night room! Price was ridiculous and instead the offered us Marriott points! We take one vacation a year. The points expire for us way ahead before they actually add up to anything! Disappointed in the lack of ownership on the hotels part. Sorry doesn’t cut it after paying a small fortune! We will not return here, even if my child comes to college in the area!
Hotel is located within walking distance of many downtown restaurants. It's also exceptionally noisy - we were on the second floor on a Saturday night and were woken up numerous times by traffic noise and a wedding party on the first floor. There were issues with our room as well - the lock was not working properly and we had to basically force our way into our room when entering. Additionally, water would come through the floor outside of the bathroom while the shower was running. Would not recommend this hotel for families with younger kids, especially on the weekend.
Housekeeping was more of a bother than helpful. They knocked on our door one evening and when I didn't respond immediately they let themselves in and quickly asked if we were checking out. The next morning they knocked on our door twice before we checked out. I am not sure of the intent of their visits in the morning. After the first knock, I stated we were checking out at 11:00. After check-out, I realized I left a couple of clothing items in the room. I contacted the hotel two times and was told housekeeping did not find anything left in the room. I know for a fact the items were left in a drawer; they did not return home with me therefore could only be in the room. It is discouraging to know that you cannot get back lost items. The room showed much wear with beat up furniture and mold on the shower curtain and tile grout. …
This is an extraordinarily average hotel. When I booked it for $500+ (!!!) a night I expected much, much more. This rate was ridiculous for the value. The rooms were not clean and the accommodations were shabby. Do NOT pay more than $200 for a room here.
We stayed for two nights this past weekend. The staff was top notch. From the time we arrived until the time we left we were greeted with smiles and a level of professionalism that I have never encountered before at a Courtyard Property. It was our wedding anniversary and the team at the Charleston Historic District made it memorable.
Staff did an awesome job to make my stay from business to mini vacation on the back half of the week. Great hospitality and clean facility. Excellent location to many shops and restaurants. I’ll be staying there again in the future
We always stay at this hotel because of its location. You are so close to all downtown locations and can walk everywhere. The rooms are quite large with a chair and sofa. The fridge and coffee machine are an extra bonus. Downside? Parking is $40/day. Rooms are expensive. I paid $500 for one night…plus parking and no breakfast. But the location is worth it to me.
This hotel is very nice! The staff were all very friendly and very helpful. The rooms are very clean and spacious. The hotel is within walking distance to the Aquarium and to the stables to tour the city. It is easy to get to the Market vendors. We will definitely stay there again.
This property never fails to impress. This Courtyard is always our first choice when we visit Charleston, as it is close to everything you’d want to see. We park our car upon arrival, and unless we decide to go over the bridge to Sullivan or Isle of Palms, never have to move it. The staff, from valet to housekeeping, and everyone in between, are always helpful and courteous, weather recommending a restaurant or grabbing something for the room (coffee, towels…) Property has a bar and Starbucks in lobby and nice window area seating areas to people watch and cool off. They also have a beautiful porch area in the front, where I was finally able to finish my book that has sat unread since November of last year😉 The pool area was big enough to accommodate the few people that were there during our visit, and it was clean and adequately stocked with towels. I always recommend this property to friends looking for hotel in the area.…
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! From check in to check out, the staff were friendly and professional! We were upgraded to a suite and loved the size, amenities and water pressure in the room! We will stay here the next time we come to Charleston!.
