We recently spent two days here and I thought the Mills House was lovely. The hotel is beautiful, in a great location, and very clean. I particular enjoyed dinner and drinks in the courtyard, and the service was great. Our room was small but cute and the bed was super comfy. I only wish that the room had a mini-fridge, but I understand the lack of space in a historic hotel. The hotel seemed to be taking COVID-19 precautions seriously. All staff had masks on, there was hand sanitizer available, and lots of signage about keeping proper distancing.
This is our third time staying at the Mills House. We were given early check in. Clean room and very friendly staff. Due to the Covid there was no vallet parking or bell hop but that was ok with us. The parking desk was directly behind the hotel which led right to the hotel. The restaurant and pool was open. Walking distance to everything downtown Charleston. We started going to Charleston 3 years ago and now it is a yearly trip. Thank you Mills House!
Under the current covid circumstances and the hospitality service challenges. The F&B team did an outstanding job. Antony the bartender and Stephen our server always went above and beyond to accommodate us. They were extremely busy on the weekend and noticeably understaffed for the amount of guests they had to accommodate. Dimitri the manager was helping as he always does to assist. This is our fourth stay at the Mills House and because of staff like Antony, Stephen and Dimitri we will continue to stay at the Mills Hills. I Highly recommend a visit! Mike M
Hotel is in a great location and common areas are nice but rooms are in disrepair, especially the bathrooms. Our sink was broken with both handles loose and not turning of water unless you twisted them around multiple times. Filthy grout, low quality shampoo and soap, cracked tiles, peeling wallpaper, no exhaust fan, and ceiling stains. Rooms are small with outdated furniture. Comfortable beds and large tvs. Nice pool and beautiful courtyards. Great bar and nice staff. 2 star room, no star bathroom, 4 star common areas, 5 star location.
Girls get away for MDW! Juan at the front desk hooked it up BIG TIME! After a long night of drinking, which happens oh too easily in the holy city, and no late night food options during this pandemic, Juan threw together the MOST beautiful charcuterie board and incredible chocolate cake at 3:30 am. Juan Tamarit, you quite literally saved my life. Thanks for hospitality Mills House! Will definitely be back!
