The Lindy was perfectly situated in the heart of the historic district. Furnishings were nice and comfortable. Staff was amazing. The on-site cafe was excellent with offerings atypical of most hotel cafes. Coffee was fabulous (all those other hotels can keep their Starbucks!) The complimentary bikes were icing on the cake. Would definitely stay here again.

Great time at the Lindy! The rooms were nice and comfortable. The afternoon festivities were a blast and very thoughtful for the guests. All the staff were very friendly. Last but certainly not least Richard was a delight and extremely helpful!

The room was quite comfortable, well kept and clean. Staff was courteous and friendly. Of particular note was the luggage porter, Richard. He was particularly attentive and kind towards my very elderly parents, who came to Charleston for a wedding. His genuine, courteous assistance noticeably brightened their day, and contributed to the overall success of their difficult trip. His soft-spoken, calm demeanor helped lower the stress levels of all those involved. He asked after them if they weren’t present. An exceptional man one rarely encounters, who makes quality of service seem effortless.

We stayed at the Lindt Renaissance on a sightseeing visit to Charleston. It is well located for visiting the downtown historic area. Our room was comfortable and clean, although not overly large. There is a cute breakfast bar where you can get a light breakfast. There is also a very nice bar/restaurant. Staff was pleasant and helpful. I found only two drawbacks—they have duvets instead of blankets. I hate duvets. The second is petty, but annoying. When I sent a tex message to get my car from the garage, I received a response that asked whether I wanted to tip the garage attendant electronically. When I hit yes and entered a tip amount, I received a response that added a $1.50 fee for tipping electronically. I find that beyond annoying at a first-class hotel.

Room Tip: Don’t tip the valet electronically. The hotel adds a $1.50 fee for doing so.

Thank you for the feedback about your experience, we sincerely apologize the stay didn't meet as well as exceed your expectations. We will speak with the management team for the parking staff to pursue additional options regarding the tipping fee for retrieving your vehicle. We hope to host you again when you return to Charleston.

We visit Charleston often, and we typically stay at the Grand Bohemian Hotel. We decided to change it up and try the Renaissance during this trip for a bit of variety. From the beginning of our stay, the hotel had several issues. First, the TV in the room was not operational when we arrived late at night. The next morning, we did not have hot water, and it took over an hour to have some one address it. The breakfast is from a small coffee shop with limited options (and one morning did not have any hot coffee) that often results in long lines to get meals, as it is the only option for the entire property. When trying to address any of these issues, staff were slow to respond. It truly put a cloud of frustration over our vacation weekend. Overall, there are much better properties to choose from. I suggest you select another property if you are looking for consistency that is expected at a higher end Marriott property.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us and providing the feedback about your experience, I completely understand the frustrations you had during your stay with us, and for that I am truly sorry. I will personally investigate the issues you encountered with the television not working as well as the follow up from the staff and lines at Handy & Hot. Thank you again for your loyalty to Marriott and we hope to host you again when you return to Charleston.

We stayed at the Lindy Renaissance for almost a week (and this was our second stay), and our experience was excellent. The staff was always attentive and responsive, and the accommodations were great (including the convenient location of the hotel). The highlight of our stay was the valet/front doorman Richard, who greeted us every morning with a huge smile and a fantastic, sunny disposition. He made the extra effort to make sure we had everything we needed each time we left and returned to the hotel. In particular, he made our infant son feel like a little prince. Many thanks to the entire staff, and we can't wait to make a return trip (and see Richard again)!

Renaissance is centrally located so it was super easy to get to anywhere in downtown Charleston. Very walkable city. Always felt safe. The front desk team went out of their way to be helpful and made great recommendations for food and fun. The room was nice and clean, but did not have a wow factor. The group that worked the entrance was always friendly and willing to hold open doors. Some tips. If you are a rewards member, take the points instead of the breakfast. The free breakfast is really just a giant biscuit with a coffee. There are some great breakfast places outside of the hotel, especially Toast on King Street. Toast on Meeting is okay, but Toast on King really goes the extra mile to make your meal great, Don't get a car unless you really need to explore beyond the downtown area. We walked and "Lyfted" everywhere and did fine. If you have mobility issues, be aware that the sidewalks in Charleston can be tricky since they have trees, posts and garbage cans that impede you a bit. Also, be sure to request a non-connecting room if possible. You will hear your neighbors very easily otherwise. Overall, you will be happy that you spent a little extra to stay at Lindy Renaissance.

Richard was the light of the hotel! We enjoyed seeing him everytime we came and went with the hotel. He remembered my daughters name who is a year and he always made it seem like she was one of his own grandchildren. The hotel was clean and service was great

The hotels location was perfect. Everyone was so accommodating. I loved the citrus water that was offered everyday in the lobby & the pink umbrellas when it rained. The room was updated and extremely comfortable. The only thing I would have wanted would be a lighted makeup mirror hanging in the bathroom.
