We want this place to ourselves. We have stayed at many state, federal, and county campgrounds, but this one is by far the best. Great big sites, bike paths, unbelievable dog park, splash area for kids and more. We will return

This is a large (600+ acres) park run by the county on James Island, just off Charleston SC. Beautifully maintained, with a wealth of activities for families from rock climbing walls, to miles of paved bike paths, a fishing dock, a splash zone for little ones, picnic pavilions and more. The campgrounds are also well run and maintained, with a...

This was our second time at the James Island Campground. It is a great facility that is close to downtown Charleston. We made daily trips to the city for activities. The downside about this stay was the need to move sites twice during our four day stay. Four days and three sites because of specific reserved sites. I checked daily...

We had a nice stay here, but the bathroom was only cleaned once in four days. And that was after I went to camp store and asked that someone clean it. Also had to ask for more toilet paper on the weekend.

I adore this campground. James Island County Park Campground is located minutes away from charming Charleston, SC. This park has so much to do from dog parks, biking trails, fishing, the lake, playgrounds, and more. Every campsite has a fire ring, water and electric hook up, and there are bathrooms close by. This campground was extremely quite and one of...

City - County need to cut some trees I am 12 ft. 9...

I was looking for a campground that was close to Charleston. I was very pleased with James Island County Park Campground. Very clean park with walking and bike trails, a huge rock climbing wall for all. Water park was closed since we visited in the month of March but looks like a great place to bring the children.

Great location to Charleston. Very clean campground with great bike trails, climbing wall. Sites are spacious and private. Excellent general store. Camped in 35 ft RV and used Uber back and forth from Charleston.

We brought our teardrop camper in Mid-march to James Island to sightsee in Charleston and visit the beach. The campground is quiet and clean, with miles of trails, water, and other features. Charleston and Folly Beach are both 15 minutes away. The campground sites included a fire ring, some trees for shade, and easy access to the bath house. The...

Great location that leaves you only 10 minutes from Charleston. The sites are very nice and with good spacing between them. The wi-fi is very iffy . But it's a great park if your going to visit the area.
