The campground is clean, neat and quiet . The sites are private with plenty of room.Staff is helpful and friendly. The park overall is very large, well planned and very well maintained. Our favorite part is the incredible dog park! It is huge, lots of room to run, and the dogs have access to a large swimming area!

The campground is nice. Campsites are large. All throughout the park the trails are paved. Nice dock to fish from. Also water park across street is cool. Kinda geared towards younger kids. Also in campground they have big playground w splash park. That is free. Close to downtown Charleston. We had a great time.

My husband and I stayed at the Campground at James Island County Park in June for a couple of nights. The sites are large and kept spotless. They have a large area for the dogs to run and enjoy the lake which made us wish we had our pups. We have a self contained motor home so we didn't use... More

My wife has been dying to go camping one last time before she starts back (she reaches Kindergarten) and my daughters go back to school. I told her to find somewhere and book it. We ended up at James Island County Park and we all have loved every minute of it. The lots are spacious and most provide a little... More

This place was awesome. Close to Charleston and Folly Beach. Ample space between units, clean bathrooms, excellent amenities including a huge dog park with its own beach. We had a great time and plan to come again! There's a water park near by, boat rentals or you can just chill out. Highly recommend!

This is a campground for RVs. They don't quite make that as clear as most RV parks do, so I was surprised by the treatment tent campers get. Its a big open field with some fire rings and a few picnic tables. The bathrooms consist of a portable unit with one mens and one womens. There was a single source... More

My husband found out about James Island County Park on BringFido.com, and I'm so glad he did! This is the best dog park we've taken our dog to- flat, open, lots of grass and benches, water / lake and a beach. We all loved it and it tired our dog out for the ride home. It was only $2 per... More

Nice place to camp. All the sites are level and have fairly easy access, although some have more shade than others. The bath houses are clean and in good condition. There are a lot of things to do here, from fishing, crabbing, riding bikes, water parks, playgrounds, etc. One bad thing is that you can't do anything after 8. No... More

Really nice RV park - well done Charleston County! People were actually out walking and cycling - hardly a golf cart in sight! How refreshing. Nice sites, lots of trees. Trails for walking and cycling. Free shuttle to Charleston in the morning and back in the afternoon was the icing on the cake.

We stayed three nights at the end of our trip visiting Savannah, Beaufort, and Charleston. All the places we camped were good but James Island County Park was the best. This is not just a campground as there are other activities and the park is well used by the locals for hiking, bicycling, playing with their dogs in and around... More
