Don't let the name "County Park" scare you off, the features here are as good as most private campgrounds at a much lower cost. Unlike most SC State Parks, the sites here are full hook up with sewer, power, and water. They also require little if any blocking to get your rig level. There is a water park, small lake... More

How can you go wrong with a campground inside a beautiful park & the bonus its 15 minutes from the beautiful city of Charleston. Sites were roomy & level with all services w/s/e. Nice clean restrooms & showers.

We originally thought we had pulled into the wrong place. This place was so nice! The grounds were beautiful and so well maintained. I never saw one bit of litter. The restrooms were always cleaned and stocked. The primative camping (where we stayed) were set off from the RV campsite and very peaceful. The sites were not too close together... More

JICP is a huge park! The RV and Campground are nice and shaded, our spot (97) was on a corner and quite large. The park itself is extensive, with plenty to do including a rock wall, long walking trails, and a Splash Park (costs extra to get in) in the summer. Our favorite part was the dog park. We travel... This is a state/county campground one right. It has everything you could want. Ok I'd prefer paved sites, but the sand is nice, flat, and even the dog didn't get covered in it. Also it feels more like you are out in nature this way. We had a great site, quiet for the most part. They sprayed for the mosquitoes,... More

We just spent a day at the James Island Park but had such a good time i wanted to share. Sounds like an excellent place to camp but there is so much else to do, I'd recommend it as a part-day trip out of Charleston or Folly Beach. We were staying on Folly and noticed the park on the map... More

This is a very nice park. The spaces were easy to back in and the staff is friendly. It is pretty easy to get to downtown Charleston and there is a shuttle to both downtown and Folly beach if you don't want to drive. It offers a lot of activities for families. Would definitely stay there again if I go... More

A very lovely campground for a week or more. Great well laid out park. Tons of stuff to do for adults and kids Fishing lake, crabbing pier, miles of bike trails, rental bikes ($10 first 24 hrs, $5 each additional day, climbing wall, water park. Just 15 minutes to Downtown Charleston or Folly Beach. Restaurants within 2 miles. Campsites are... More

This is a phenomenal county campground with excellent services and outdoor facilities. Great biking/walking paths wind around and through the park. Wireless was typical and just adequate. (We didn't use the bathroom/shower facilities). Very friendly, helpful staff. Close enough to Charleston but avoid the 'morning/afternoon commute' times. All in all a great park!

This is a nice park with all the activities available, location to town and beach and hiking paths. The one thing that ruins the overall rating of the park is the bathrooms and showers. They are not the worst we have seen but are close. Our site 114 was not level and we were unable to get our RV level.... More
