Thank you Homewood Suites Charleston historic District for a wonderful five night stay. I called ahead of our arrival to request a quiet upper floor and to let them know that this trip was part of a 50th wedding anniversary celebration for my wife and I. They put us on the top floor in a corner and a dozen roses were waiting for us on arrival. The location is great, the complementary morning breakfast much better than typical for this class hotel, the hotel staff friendly and helpful and the rooms are spacious and clean. And the hotel is on the free downtown Charleston bus route and about two blocks from the amazing visitor center which is a must see place and the best place to buy many attractions tickets and benefit from a substantial discount. This was our first time ever in Charleston and we had an amazing time in this amazing city and the surrounding areas. If you're headed to Charleston we strongly recommend this property.

Hotel's Favorite
This hotel had a ton of amenities for a great price. The room was large; it had a full kitchen with pots/dishes/utensils, a coffee maker, an iron, hair dryer, digital entry, a couch, a desk, a closet, and a flat screen TV with HBO. They had a gym, a lap pool, a bar, and an assortment of snacks and drinks that you can charge to the room. The location puts you within walking distance of everything. The free breakfast was pretty impressive as well; staff was vigilant about making sure everyone sanitized their hands and they wiped off surfaces constantly. Housekeeping was available upon request, which we like because we’d rather wait until checkout before they clean the room. Towels and toilet paper were also available on request. Overall, this hotel was probably the best value we’ve had considering the amenities and the location.

This hotel is located off King Street so it is walking distance to all kinds of fabulous site, restaurants, and shops. The rooms were fine and fairly soundproof. We were disappointed in a few housekeeping issues but experience was fine overall.

The staff was exceptional. They made every effort to make our stay a pleasant one. Parking is valet only, but was quick and efficient. The rooms were clean. Location was great, easy to access Charleston from. They had a full breakfast. The only fruit I saw was citrus, which I am unfortunately now allergic to, so I asked if anything else was available, and the breakfast hostess went out of her way to slice up some strawberries for me! The only thing I found odd was that we could hear the doors of other rooms slam shut, talking in the hallways, and even occasionally, the people above us, although during the night, it was quiet. The Hampton Inns, which we usually stay at, are generally quieter. That surprised me. Still gets my vote, though, as a great place to stay.

We travel and frequently have to request ADA accommodations. When accessible suites/rooms are not available, it makes things more challenging. At this Hilton property, the general manager went the extra mile and was able to give us what we needed in our room to be safe. When we ask for help, we sometimes get a blank look—as if we are pushing the limits of the hotel’s hospitality. But not here. We were treated so respectfully and generously by the staff that it brings tears to my eyes. And, the hotel is sold out and yet they found a way to make this work. I’m these times of Covid, customer rage, entitlement and fatigue, it was an extraordinary pleasure to be treated so well.
