We stayed at the Inn in June 2023 while on a motorcycle trip. We found the inn very nice. The staff was very helpful and the amenities were very nice. We decided to celebrate our anniversary recently(October) in Charleston with a trip to our favorite jazz club. So we returned to the Inn.
The Inn is close to the market street city market , the waterfront park, cruise terminal and the lovely downtown area. It is a very safe area for walking even in the evening. The Inn has some lovely amenities including a happy hour, continental breakfast and cookies and coffee in the evening. There is a hot tub and a beautiful garden area where you can enjoy a quiet retreat in a usually busy part of town. This is an historic Inn, so while the rooms are updated you will still have those things that come with older homes. The rooms are comfortable, clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and work hard to make your stay comfortable. You will have to pay to park your vehicle. You can use the hotel’s parking rate or there is a parking garage just a block away. When you arrive you can park briefly at the front door and the staff will help you unload while you check in. No, it’s not the cheapest stay in town but we enjoy the convenience of staying where we can park the car and leave it parked until we leave. Staying at the Inn gives you a chance to really enjoy the history of this town.

My husband and I loved this place, especially the location, which is at the entrance to the market. We also loved how they went out of their way to help us celebrate our anniversary with champagne and chocolates! We also appreciate the wine and cheese and breakfast. The only thing I was a little disappointed by was the jacuzzi, because the water was tepid and not hot.

The grounds, though small, were pretty and well cared for. Same was true for room. “Breakfast” and afternoon wine/appetizers very basic but ok. Staff were all very pleasant, helpful and accommodating. The location is terrific - central to many things you can walk to & tons of restaurants. Overall a nice place to stay.

Wonderful hotel, great staff and all the bells and whistles. Perfect location surrounded by wonderful restaurants and shopping. Great tour carriage rides right outside the door. Roof top bar was perfect for evening breaks and we received coupons for beverages, which made it even better. Coffee and pastries in the hall every morning, everyone in robs getting breakfast made for laughs. Pastries were to die for. Will return. Our room had a poor view, but we were never in it and the view from the bar made it all better.

Living only an hour away from Charleston, I visit frequently. This is my favorite place to stay. The value is great! Walking distance to everything, beautiful rooms and friendly staff. Owner even showed his appreciation for my boyfriend who is a Marine. :)

The Market Street Inn is close to the the shops on Market Street, the shops on King Street, a short walk to the harbor, to Rainbow Row, the Battery, etc. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great and so too was the wine and cheese hour. You have to park about 2 blocks away in a parking lot and this adds about $14 per night to your stay. For the price and the location, it is a great deal. I just wish that the parking was more convenient.

We spent four days in Charleston this summer and wanted to be in the middle of all the action. We could not have stayed at a nicer place! The Inn offers hands down the best breakfast in town, the courtyard is quaint and comfortable, wine and a little something is free to guests in the late afternoon. Staff is friendly. The towels in the room were fresh and thick, like bran new! The shower was strong. We couldn't have been happier! Enjoyed the best of both worlds! Oh, I almost forgot, staff brings delicious chocolates to the room in the late afternoon! Very nice touch!

This is the BEST Inn to stay while in Charleston... across from the Market. We had some trouble with our rental car and they were so very helpful trying to remedy our problems. All of the employees went out of their way to help in any way they could. It kinda felt like they were family. The Concierge was knowledgeable about places to eat and see and didn't steer us wrong on one thing.

If you want a lovely inn that offers a great breakfast, afternoon drinks and refreshments, and puts you in the heart of the historic city, this is the inn for you. The staff members were courteous and professional in every way. The rooms were nicely appointed and very comfortable. Wish we had more time to enjoy the garden courtyard and jacuzzi, but we did spend some time there enjoying breakfast and afternoon refreshments. Whatever direction you decide to take on your walk thru this amazing city, you are conveniently located to so many great restaurants, shops, churches, and history every step of the way. Loved this inn. Hope to return soon.

I can't recall the exact cost but I remember that it wasn't that bad. I'd recommend staying there because you'll be right in the middle of all the action. We really enjoyed the Inn, it's old but maintained with friendly staff.
