Loved the apartment in this home. The interior furnishings and decor are great - lots of interesting reading material and beautiful space. But the apartment is up 2 flights of stairs in the back so don't get misled by the beautiful front of the house. Kitchen and living area on main floor after you enter (no bathroom) and two bedrooms and two bathrooms are one more floor up. View of the lake only from one bathroom. None of the porches are available for your use. The apartment exits behind the house. It is across the street from a small lake with a nice path around it. Walk to town is about a mile. So we really enjoyed our stay but would have loved some porch space being available to relax on.
This is a little known gem we luckily discovered on Trip Advisor. It is listed as a B&B, but you really have your very own apartment in the perfect location. It was ideal for two couples with separate quarters and bathrooms. The apartment is connected to one of the most beautiful homes in Charleston built in 1900. Everything has been completely modernized inside yet it maintains that Charleston charm and we were in walking distance from restaurants and historical sights. The proprietors were welcoming and accommodating-you will not want to leave this place!
Belvedere is a beautiful property, and its guest accommodations are lovely. As a host myself I'm picky about where I stay and I enjoy seeing how other folks do things. Pam and her husband Ron do a great job. The place is beautifully appointed, the beds are comfy, and everything is spotless. Sunlight streams in. The kitchen was thoughtfully stocked. The neighborhood is very nice and well located. We really, really enjoyed our stay.
Me and my family stayed here during Christmas and it was fantastic. Supposedly they had just redone it and we were the second people to stay here post-construction. We rented it through Airbnb, and its not the entire house, but the "queens quarters" upstairs in the back, it was accessible through its own entryway. They did a fantastic job on the place and the decor is very charleston and "homey," you just could not replicate this experience in a hotel. There are two levels, the bottom has the kitchen and a large common area with dinner table, fireplace and tv area. Its very relaxed. The top floor is 2 rooms, 2 bathrooms. We had 4 people staying here and it was plenty of space. If you are looking to stay in Charleston, for the price (about 300/night) this can't be beat. They even supplied the fridge with some basics like milk, OJ, eggs, yogurt, etc. so we didn't have to go shopping. I would highly highly recommend this and would stay here again when in Charleston.…
My wife and I had our anniversary weekend at this B&B. She loves Plantation homes. The home is absolutely stunning and is everything my wife loves about plantation homes. The two bedroom accommodations are basically your very own apartment. They are like nothing at any B&B you've ever experienced. Would stay there any time we visit beautiful Charleston.
