We had a wonderful stay at Governor's House Inn this October. We were in Charleston for a wedding. October is a great time to visit Charleston, and Governor's House is well located in the old part of town and only a block from King Street which has a great array of interesting shops. We were in the only room onthe... More

Yes, it is a bit pricey, especially during the Fall house and garden tours, but you could not ask for a more polished or hospitable experience in a B&B. The staff is truly professional and always available (they are on premises 24/7) however not intrusive. Exquisite common areas downstairs for mingling with other guests or having a drink and beautiful... More

The room we chose Orange Blossom was fabulous, relaxing with comforts of home. The staff was very friendly and Anna was very hospitable. We recommend it highly as the place to stay in Charleston SC.

This beautiful B&B does not disappoint. A bit pricey but the rooms are beautifully restored and up to date bathrooms, etc. Location is perfect to walk just a block or two to all the Charleston sights. Well managed by a friendly staff.

Staying here is like going to visit your wealthy Aunt who caters to your every need! The home is beautiful and formal, but doesn't feel stuffy. Staff clearly love the inn, the city, and company - as we call visitors in the South! We spent hours on the porch watching squirrels chase each other from tree to tree in the... More

We picked this Inn because of its location and reputation for excellent hospitality. We were not disappointed. The staff was extremely helpful in assisting us with our plan and reservations. Afternoon refreshments and wonderful breakfasts around a large dining room table gave us the opportunity to share experiences with the other guests. We stayed in the Magnolia Room - it... More

My husband and I were in town for a wedding. I picked Governor's House for its location, elegance without being dark and heavy, and being a good value with breakfast, high tea, sherry, etc. Our room "Magnolia" was on the third floor; I loved lying in the four-poster bed and looking out the window at a most artistic view of... We stayed here for our 10 year anniversary in the Jefferson suite. When we saw our room my first thought was - wow this is an amazing deal - the suite was the entire top floor of the 250 year old out building. Beautiful rattan wallpaper, huge fireplace, elegant furnishings, a patio, windows everywhere, exposed wood beams, wet bar, jetted... More

We love Governors house inn. Our favorite room is Orange grove room which is on the lower level but it is gorgeous. Breakfast is elegant and delicious. The location is perfect. We walked everywhere. The staff is friendly and helpful. We would never stay anyplace else in Charleston SC.

My friend and I stayed here recently for four lovely evenings in the Wagener Room which is on the first floor. The location in the heart of the historic district couldn't be more perfect. Our room was spacious with a very modern bath and beautiful furnishings. We also had access to a small, public porch right by our room.Despite being on the first floor,our...
