Our room was incredibly dirty. The carpet was disgusting as were the chairs. We moved to another room but it was just as bad. We eventually got a free upgrade to a room with wooden floors. Service terrible also.

Hotel's Favorite
The location, amenities, staff, hospitality, services, grounds, price, and restaurant were all exceptional. I highly recommend this stay. My first time to Charleston in 30 years, and this stay made the trip amongst the best of my many travels. First, it's close to everything. Second, the niche art attraction is fun and fulfilling. Third, the bar, restaurant, and rooftop are second to none. The rooms were spacious. The fireplace gave great romance and ambiance, the staff are helpful and friendly. The costs are reasonable. It was just fantastic.

Wife and I were excited for first trip since pandemic, but have been disappointed so far. Seems the experiences are very inconsistent here. Checking in some guests received champagne, we did not. Currently in premier king room #305 which is an upgraded room. The website will show you a picture of a beautiful brick walled room, that’s not what you will get. #305 is located directly under the roof top bar so you will hear stomping until 1AM, people dragging their chairs around and voices of drunk people through the fireplace. The lobby will mislead you. The rooms are tired and outdated. Our room has a king bed that is bowing in the middle due to the slats being broken and no center support. you will be waiting between 5-20 minutes for the water to get hot if it even does. Every couple of hours there is a bad sewer smell that emits from the bathroom. The best thing about this place is the location. Walking distance to king street and surrounded by great restaurants. We make traveling our hobby and have been around the world. This place should not be commanding this price point unless we just happen to get the bad room. There is a difference between historic and outdated. Get this hotel some TLC!

Stayed for 2 nights. Hotel was nice and clean. The staff while there was courteous. The issue is when I left and was several hundred miles away, I realized that I had left my orthopedic pillow in the room. I immediately called the hotel and they transferred me to house keeping where I got a voicemail and left a message with no call back. I called back the next day and spoke with someone at the front desk who told me they would speak with housekeeping and get back with me. NO CALL BACK. Called a 3rd time and spoke with someone else at the front desk who said she would check with housekeeping and again NO CALL BACK. I wrote a review that was sent to me from the hotel and explained this as well. It’s been almost 2 weeks and no call back. They just want your money....

My wife wanted to stay here for two nights of our Charleston visit. The vibe of the hotel is cool, we enjoyed walking around looking at the artwork and visiting The Rooftop bar. For the price we had hoped to have a larger room, it was pretty small. Although it has a great look with the weathered brick and wood (definitely had character) the room was tiny. I think I mentioned in my YT video on our Khaki Shorts channel that the bathroom was almost as large as the bedroom portion. If we came back to Charleston I don't think we'd stay here but would stop by to check out the artwork and the rooftop bar.
