This is our third time to the Vendue. While we had not anticipated the new look we were pleased that all the things we enjoyed: location, food, cleanlinees, service etc from our first visits were still true and enhanced. We were able to make a last minute switch to the main building so we could be with our son and daughetr in law. The continental breakfast of croisants and muffins hanging on our door each morning at 7:00 were wonderful. Like the bright red orange decor, these treats reminded us of our vistis to Paris. The personal concierge available by text was very speedy and helpful. We hoped to entertain a few relatives in a cozy corner on the lobby. A staff member took our cheese, meats, crackers and bottle of wine, dissapeared for a few minutes and came back with a beautifully aranged tray, wine glasses and napkins. We sat and enjoyed family and food. I am an artist so I appreciated the art themed hotel with the exception of one painting of a Mrs. Doubtfire look alike giving the finger with both hands. Maybe not the best choice for a public lobby. At last you don't want her photo bombing a family photo. We will be back every year. Kudos to the staff!…
The Vendue is a super fun hotel in a fantastic location. Love the vibe. I chose it because 1) it is situated in the heart of Charleston, and 2) it takes pets. We greatly enjoyed our stay at this hotel – they do a great job plying guests with snacks – complimentary wine/happy hour, complimentary continental breakfast, complimentary late night chocolate chip cookies and milk. What’s not to love? Rooms are fun and distinctive, and the lobby, with all sorts of edgy art, pops. The only snafu – and this is a common occurrence, unfortunately - is that when I called to confirm the hotel takes pets I was told the pet fee is $85. Then when I arrived I was told the fee is $95. The hotel clerk did not adjust the fee, and so the check in experience started on a sour note. Honestly $10 is not a big deal, especially given the price point of this hotel – just get your pet fee structure straight/make it consistent. Other than that glitch, we had a fab time. Note that because this hotel is in downtown Charleston some rooms are a bit loud given their proximity to street noise. This is to be expected! Unrelated dining tip - If you are looking for fantastic BBQ go to Lewis Barbecue - they elevate the form.…
Stayed at this hotel for a getaway with my wife and was thoroughly impressed. Jessica checked us in n and her and my wife had a nice long chat about what to do and see in Charleston then she was kind enough to walk us to our room. The bright red and white decor with gold accents is amazing. The rooftop bar has a great view of the city. The bed was comfortable, the room clean, and the staff very helpful. Highly recommend this gem for your next stay
FANTASTIC stay! Special call-out to some exceptional staff members: Andy(who checked us in)Brian(who gave us great info and ideas for outings)and Ben our car valet who always brought our car with a smile! Our room was very comfortable, as was the bed, pillows etc. Decor is so unique and gorgeous! Location is close to everything! Oh and did I mention the complimentary champagne/wine in lobby after a day out and about in the city. Great rooftop bar to enjoy the sunset is an added bonus as well. The complimentary warm cookies and milk at bedtime added bonus too. Unbeknownst to my hubby and I when booking this hotel is the added bonus of sister hotel Tides on Folly beach which guests are allowed to use, which we did and had a great time at this establishment as well! Special call-out to Stephanie at Tides who treated us like royalty to celebrate my birthday! Thes two Canadians will definitely be back to charming Charleston and stay at The Vendue. Cheers, Dave and Kris The Canadians🇨🇦 …
Right in the middle of the best restaurants. It's a lovely block walk to the water. Had a wonderful time at the Vendue, will definitely be back. There is a very open roof top bar, on site restaurants and valet parking.
Great hotel, clean great location, and centrally located! The staff was wonderful and super friendly! We will be back! It was great to see all the art in the hotel during their tour which included wine! Very modern but with historic architectural details which added a lot of charm. It was all white with bold poppy-red accents on the furniture and windows. A very fun and lively vibe.
The Vendue is wonderful! Amazing staff, lots of wonderful extras and a perfect location. This was our second time staying there and it is our favorite in Charlesto. Within walking distance of everything.
Service and location sets this hotel apart from the rest! Location: It is located on East Bay at the waterfront, eateries, right between The French market and the Battery. You're able to walk to everything, but the USS Yorktown. No worries, the ferry at the dock takes you there. Area is very safe for tourists, even at night. Service: very friendly and accommodating. We were greeted by everyone including the cleaning staff. The entry always has some goodies( morning- coffee, afternoon- champagne and wine, night- cookies and milk). Atmosphere: very modern and fun at Vendue 19. I loved it during the day, but the lighting in the evening was a little much. Vendue 26 (across the street) had normal lighting and a more historical feel. The aer throughout both sides was fun to wander through. Fred paints ant the Vendue 26. Room: our room had a funny smell to it; but was very clean. It would be nice to have a bed tray for eating your French breakfast each morning. Two muffins, two croissants, an apple, and banana are placed in a bag and hung on your door each morning. …
What an amazing hotel! It was like living inside an art gallery and we had a wonderful time. The hotel is broking into two buildings and we stayed across the street in 26 Vendue. Although modern art was everywhere, the rooms were a less modern and leaned more on the rustic side. The beds were comfortable but some rooms did not have a safe and the bathrooms were clean but not pristine. Splatters of paint on the floors, older fixtures on the bath tub and some rooms do not have windows. The lo9cation cannot be beat though and we have an an enjoyable stay. We especially enjoyed the art tour and milke can cookies in the evening.
Let me start by saying the front desk staff was all excellent. Jessica was extremely helpful. And we enjoyed the hotel location and complimentary bikes. We woke up to a wet bed and rug as the ceiling was leaking. They made it right and upgraded us but to our dismay after entering the room after a night out we found it very dirty. Hair in the sheets and shower. The whole hotel needs a deep clean. The floors in both rooms were sticky. Bathroom corners were filthy. Coffee spills on bathroom vanity, mold in showers, and our clothes smell musty after 2 nights in the hotel.
