    Great Location
We were expecting more of a bed and breakfast, but this is really more of a hotel. The courtyard of this hotel is awesome! They had wine and cheeses set out in the evening with the fires lit, and that was very nice. The room was spacious and clean and the bathroom was huge. It is in a great location and you can easily access a lot of stuff on foot from the hotel! I read a review that said the hotel was noisy. We stayed in a room closest to the street, and we never heard any noise. We were a bit disappointed with the breakfast, but again, we were expecting more of a bed and breakfast so we thought breakfast would go a bit a differently with more "hot" options. The hotel staff is very friendly and check in and out is quick and painless! Also, on the paperwork we had, it said there was free parking. There is no parking on site. You have to park in the parking garage across the street from the hotel and it is $20 per day. Note, the parking lot was almost full when we arrived about midday. We were lucky to grab a spot. I will say, you will most likely face this anywhere you stay in Charleston. It seems most parking is either along the side of the street or in a garage everywhere in the city. I wouldn't let that determine whether or not you stay here, this comment is really just more for awareness.
I'm glad that you enjoyed your time with us during your visit to Charleston! We do a small breakfast every morning, to get you up and going to explore the day. We are located in the middle of Charleston's Historic District, so it can be noisy. The staff is wonderful. We are lucky to have such a fantastic team. I'm not sure where you saw free parking, but there is parking directly across the street that is twenty dollars per twenty-four hours. We look forward to welcoming you back to Charleston!

    Great location and staff
We stayed at the Elliot House early February 2020 for 3 nights. We really appreciated the location of this hotel which is so close to everything we wanted to do we were able to leave our car parked and walk everywhere we wanted to go. The staff at the hotel are also very friendly offer lots of ideas about different things to do and see and great restaurants to try. Our only complaint was that our room was in need of an update, renovation or repairs. I would recommend that anyone booking call ahead to request one of the newly updated rooms.
Thank you for your kind words about your recent stay with us. We are glad to see that you enjoyed the property and Charleston. We look forward to welcoming you back to Charleston!

    Comfortable
We picked this Inn based on location and the offered breakfast. Nothing on the website suggest that breakfast would not be served due to COVID. So if no breakfast, then why not a discount on the rate? We had paid for the room in advance and when I asked about the breakfast it was just, "Sorry, we cannot due to covid". How about prepare the food, plate it and serve the guest sorta like a restaurant? If you stay here, avoid any of the rooms on the end next to the road if you are a light sleeper because you will be woke up daily by the 0430 truck in the street for 15-30 minutes. The is non microwave in the room. There is a small refrigerator. Overall the room was clean and well prepared for our arrival. Due to covid, there is no daily service to your room. You can request linen exchange. The Inn Management on duty did provide ice water in a large dispenser just outside of the lobby that sometimes included sweet tea or lemonade. One of the inn managers did provide a wealth of current historical knowledge of the area. He was also able to make recommendations for visits to area sites and restaurants. I cannot say we will definitely stay here again. Parking is directly across from the Inn and cost $20.00 per 24 hours. This parking is not owned by the Inn.
I'm glad that you found your stay to be comfortable. I'm glad that you booked the Inn because of its close proximity to area attractions and restaurants. We are located right in the middle of Charleston's Historic district, so anything that you want to tour is just footsteps away from the Inn. It is not just simply an Elliott House Inn policy, but across the hotel industry there are new guidelines about cleaning rooms that are currently occupied by guests because of safety for the guest and the staff. I'm glad that we were able to provide you with fresh towels and linens for your three evenings with us. The room type that you book states on the website that it is next to the street, which is the reason why it is lower priced than the other room options. You, are in the middle of a busy city so anywhere you stay is going to have noise. However, the Courtyard rooms are going to be farther away from the road. It is our hope that we are able to bring back the wine and cheese reception and breakfast this year, but as we stated on the website we are not currently permitted at this time. This room was booked at a discounted rate of 25% off of our best available price partially because we are not currently offering the wine and cheese or breakfast at this time. The majority of locations across Charleston do not include parking, so we are fortunate that there is a lot directly across the street at 20.00 per twenty four hours. I'm glad that I was able to provide you information about tours and area activities. We hope that you will give us another try the next time you are in the area! Neal Cook Assistant Manager

My wife and I had changed our wedding plans last minute and had to scramble to put our Charleston wedding together in matter of 3 weeks. The entire team at The Elliott House Inn came to the rescue and had rooms ready for us, last minute on a busy weekend. The inn is located right in the middle of historic Charleston and were clean and well kept. My entire family enjoyed their say at The Elliott House Inn and would like to thank the staff for all of their help.

My wife and I loved the location and the courtyard but, having to get up and walk downstairs for coffee wasn’t ideal for us because we like to sip our coffee before we go out in public. The rooms were cute but, the AC did not remove enough of the humidity to make the room comfortable. For the price we will most likely get a brand hotel next visit.

Great location, small but clean room. Front desk guy (Jeremy?) spoke really fast when giving directions, even when asked to repeat them. But i was able to catch that he said since i booked through a 3rd party he was going to put us in the lower level, 2nd building to the right. Well that was a tiny room with a view of another building, AC unit and a trash can. I always suspected that’s what hotels did to 3rd party bookers, but never had someone say it to my face, lol. Room was clean enough but the chairs looked a bit stained. Wine and cheese hour was nice. Courtyard was ok. We didn’t have a problem with noise but we were there during the week. Parking just across the small street was $20. This Inn is next to 82 Queen and Husk restaurants.

The pillows are a little over-fluffy and we needed an extra blanket as the linens are scarce. They do not provide housekeeping during your stay, but are very friendly at the front desk. They offer wine at 3pm and coffee at 8am. We missed the wine, so cannot speak to it. It would be nice if they could offer a continental breakfast or donuts or some such. The location is PERFECT! You can walk to anything you desire. The rooms are small and lack storage in the bathroom. But the ambiance is quaint, the people are friendly, and the location cannot be beat. Lots of character.

My mom and I stayed here for 2 nights. We really liked the quaint atmosphere of this hotel. It was very charming and cute! It was a great location for seeing the town. The parking was convenient as well, it was literally right across the street. It did have an elevator too if you needed one. I would recommend this place to anyone, and would stay there again if an opportunity arose.

Arrived at midnight just after my friend had arrived and checked in. The room smelled of smoke and heavy mildew and did not sleep a wink. Outside smells of sewage in the AC unit had a full layer of dust and ran all night loud. The photos online are not at all what the actual rooms are like. I'd be very careful making a decision to stay here unless you're OK with this style travel and dirtiness.

Beautiful courtyard plaza surrounding very comfortable rooms which together with location and reasonable price make this my go to inn for return trips. Walk down from inn to harbor and battery and over to Waterfront are quite short and pleasurable.

The Elliott Inn has a big draw over other hotels in the area namely it is more historic in nature blending with the Queen Street antique and art galleries and fitting the Charleston architecture with its open courtyard and welcoming appeal. The rooms are clean and nicely appointed and open to the courtyard. Very roomy. It is centrally located in the French Quarter and all shops and restaurants are walkable.
