We stayed for one night recently and would definitely return. The house had a lot of charm and is in a good location although it is on the edge of some of the commercial development around MUSC. Room was nice with a great balcony overlooking the adjacent street. One criticism I had was the parking lot was definitely not designed... More

I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a better all-around B&B on the Charleston peninsula. You can stay in the heart of the historic district, but that would be likely more crowded, with less free off-street parking, and noisier and more expensive. You could stay farther north or off the peninsula but that would be far from what you're here... More

Loved our stay and felt extremely safe and comfortable as a lesbian couple. The staff was super nice and everything felt homey. My only suggestion would be to add a full length mirror to the bedroom. The wifi seemed to only be available downstairs and didn't reach the second floor, but that really didn't bother me as I rarely used... More

Had a wonderful stay with my husband at the Ashley Inn! Rooms were generously sized, very comfortable, and above all CLEAN. Breakfast was great! Staff were very friendly and informative regarding the history of the house and town in general. Would definitely recommend. Only caveat - may be out of walking distance to French Quarter for some.

Ashley Inn was the first B&B I have stayed at and it was a delightful place with beautiful wall art, delicious breakfast and afternoon snacks consisting of crackers, cheese, dip and wine. For breakfast on Saturday, we had a ham and cheese crepe. On Sunday we had french toast with orange syrup. The room was clean, organized and neat. Check... More

We enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable and nicely decorated. Breakfast was fantastic. We were on the 3rd floor and did ok but if you have a hard time with stairs of a lot of luggage beware that it can be a difficult climb. Our only complaint was that the ice machine wasn't working. We could only get ice... More

We thought this was going to be such a nice romantic night away. We went to Charleston for just one night and thought a bed and breakfast would be perfect. Love downtown area and the house is absolutely beautiful. Our room was on the third floor and in the middle of the summer with high 90's heat, the A/C control... More

We arrived around 7pm and the door was locked and the innkeeper acted like they weren't expecting us. Definitely made us a little nervous right off the bat but she remembered once we said our name. And that was after calling them to confirm earlier in the day. (they also told us that the air was broke which also made... More

Ashley Inn is old and historic, but staircases difficult to negotiate. Our room was the "suite" in the attic, beautifully decorated, good white linens and good towels. Small shower with plenty of hot water, low pressure. Afternoon tea was disappointing, had to boil my own water for tea. Breakfast TOO elaborate - not everyone wants banana rum french toast, or... I really enjoyed my stay at the wonderful Ashley Inn. The Inn is beautifully furnished and located on a shady street very near the historic district. The Innkeeper was very welcoming and helpful. She provided me with a map of the historic district and showed me the trolley lines and where to find the restaurant where I had reservations. Several... More
