Best hotel experience in a long time, the service, location, amenities were superb! I am a very particular traveler and always read many reviews and research to the greatest extent. My overall was the best and didn’t want to leave! The complimentary breakfast was so good and filling that most days we couldn’t eat lunch. The warm cookies and milk in the evening are such a nice touch. The afternoon happy hour with wine and hors d’oeuvres were welcoming after a day of sightseeing and shopping.
Loved this hotel! So close to the water and everything historic - could walk to a lot of things. Such great service and really enjoyed having breakfast brought right to our room every day! Also appreciated having some gluten free food options for breakfast and Hayden and Douglas also got me GF cookies for the 9 pm cookies and milk! Oh and they had skittles and M & M's out constantly, plus water, coffee, and tea! Awesome place! I love that it is a grand entrance (a little older looking) when you go up to the check-in, but rooms are very modern, and they have very comfortable seating in two places to hang out. A special bonus the night we came in was a free short history tour and talk.
We took my in-laws to Charleston for the first time. We had great rooms! The staff was fabulous! The little extras like breakfast on the roof, wine and cheese, and cookies and milk at night made our stay.
Fantastic staff and hotel. Breakfast brought to your room is great. We stay there all the time. As far as I am concerned it's the only hotel in Charleston We spent our anniversary there and the roses I asked for to surprise my wife were beautiful. You could not ask for a better place to stay
This was one of our favorite places to stay in Charleston SC . I always book a deluxe with balcony ,for the view of the Harbor. A new hotel has been constructed in front of the harbor now blocking the view . The establishment sold the room as harbor view still . Will not be back to this place ever again !
This hotel was really terrific. We came from Hilton Head and Savannah on a southern area tour and this was, by far, the best hotel experience. The hotel is so well located - walk to the best restaurants and the French Market. The staff was amazing. The rooms were beautifully detailed and quiet ( and the hotel was booked) Check-out time was noon and we had no problem leaving our car for 3 extra hours while we had lunch and walked around before leaving for the airport . Actually, you do not need a car to enjoy the best of Charleston . Just Uber to this hotel from the airport and back .
This is a very nice modern inn with very good service and very comfortable beds and pillows. The room was extremely clean when we first entered. The location is exceptional, we walked everywhere we wanted to go and we were here for four days. If you are not comfortable with valet parking, there is an affordable parking garage a block away. The private rooftop terrace was great and a good place to have either the breakfast, the wine & cheese reception (if it’s not too hot) or the evening milk & cookies. The property is adjacent to the Joe Riley Waterfront Park, where we walked every evening after dinner. The unfortunate news is that someone is building a large hotel across the street. This new building will obstruct the view of the harbor. When we booked, we were warned that, “noise and view from nearby construction occurring on Concord Street may impact guest experience in this guest room.” I don’t think this warning goes far enough. The front desk even left me a voicemail before we arrived with the same notice, that the noise and the view could impact our experience. There is really no good reason to upgrade to a Balconette or balcony or any room facing the construction. I understand this is not Harborview Inn’s fault, they can’t control what other businesses do or what the city government allows but I think future guests should be informed. I can’t overstate enough the location is great and the rooms are very comfortable, there are very good reasons to book at this inn, unfortunately the view is not one of them.…
The hotel staff is very friendly and professional. The amenities offered such as breakfast, 5pm refreshments and evening cookies are a thoughtful touch. It offers a good location with rooms that are comfortable and clean. We enjoyed a pleasant stay.
My friend from Boston booked a room at the Harborview for her visit to Charleston. This was great, I live across the street on Vendue, very convenient for us. We arrive around 11pm, we were surprised to see homeless people sleeping on the hotel property. The homeless had pillows, blankets, and were all sacked out for the night. Other homeless were lingering around. Charleston has facilities for their homeless population, but the hotel apparently didn’t address this problem with the city. We talked to the manager and he’s said that he would look into the situation, that the hotel doesn’t have a designated security team, they only use cameras for security purposes. We did not feel comfortable with her staying there, my friend was able to get a room at The Vendue, which is on the same street. This is not safe, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a pleasant visit to Charleston…
So happy to have selected HarbourView Inn for a mother/daughter visit to Charleston. Upon arrival, the Valet quickly gathered our luggage and suggested we check in - even though we were early - and luckily, we were able to gain access to our room. A nice surprise so we could start our adventure without any delays. Jodi at the front desk gladly made sure we received all of the niceties associated with our package. The extra bottle of bubbly and gelato coupon from the next door cafe. The hotel offers pre dinner small bites and drinks, evening cookies and milk along with a generous breakfast as complimentary. All of these offering made for such a pleasant experience. Our room was lovely and clean - the Tempur-Pedic mattresses were so comfortable and the pillows did not disappoint, making for a peaceful slumber. There are many hotel options in Charleston and after reviewing so many we are so glad we chose Harbor View for its value. The location was walkable to the shopping and restaurants we wanted to see. Check out was easy and so happy to have our car right on property knowing it was safe and secure. Thank you to all the staff that aided in a happy trip experience. We hope to be back in the near future.…
