I had the pleasure of staying with Janet and Steve at their B&B. From the moment I arrived I felt at home. Walking in the front door to your right is a huge living area filled with books, southern folklore and history. In every area you will find something that strikes the imagination and/or your curiosity. Don't even get me started on the food! Made from scratch scones, fruit, and frittata to die for! I stayed in The Steeplechase Suite and it was just stunning. From the antique books to the claw foot tub it was perfect. Stay here when in the Camden area, you will not be disappointed!
We stayed in the Civil War room at Four Oaks and were very pleased with the service and accommodations. Everything has been recently renovated and felt luxurious and comfortable. The house was the perfect blend of modern and historical, and the decor was very tasteful. The hosts were kind and made us feel at home from start to finish. Anything we could have possibly needed was provided, and the snack area upstairs was a great little extra to make the stay feel special. Everything was simply charming - highly recommend!
Great B&B. Four Oaks was quite a find in the historic town of Camden. Proximity to town center, local eateries, historic sites (revolutionary & civil wars), quiet tree covered lanes, evenings on the veranda under canopy of large oak trees was relaxing after a day of touring the local sites. With the friendly picturesque neighborhood, comfortable accommodations, good food, you can’t help but want to just relax and enjoy. Highly recommend.
Wonderful B&B! We had a lovely time at this gorgeous historic home. Restorations are impeccable, rooms are large, private, beautiful. We had access to the upper veranda for romantic evenings under the canopy of Oak trees in front of the house. Bathrooms ensuite, large & include both tub & shower. Linens & towels were heavenly. Hosts are lovely, food is amazing...,we hated to leave and cannot wait to visit again! ( the entire historic town of Camden is welcoming and scenic/beautiful) This house is a standout!!!!
We spent these nights at New Year's at Four Oaks Inn and, if I had to choose one word to describe the experience, that word would be "impeccable." I've stayed at many, many historic B and Bs before, from coast to coast, but few could compare to Four Oaks in ambience, ammenities, and overall experience. The innkeeper may be new to the business, but they've done their homework. Not only is the house a treasure, but each of the rooms is a gem in its own right. The two our party occupied were beautifully and comfortably decorated with a mix of antique and new pieces. Both featured spacious private balconies, king-sized four-posters with memory-foam mattresses, claw-foot tubs, and romantic fireplaces. Coffee, tea, water, and treats were available round the clock, and breakfast was served on our schedule, not theirs. And speaking of breakfast ... The food was delicious, creative, and elegantly presented in a formal dining room accompanied by classical music. As for the innkeepers, we felt as if they were old friends by the time we left. They were welcoming, gracious, and attentive without hovering or making us feel obligated in the least, which isn't always the case at small, owner-occupied inns. They really made us feel as if their home was ours. I give an enthusiastic five stars to the Four Oaks Inn. If you're planning a trip to Camden, book a room. If you're not, go! It's a charming old Southern town with lots to see and do-- if you can tear yourself away from your luxurious room!…
