Wonderfully relaxing and private stay at the Four Oaks Inn in Camden, SC. The Steeplechase Suite exceeded our expectations. The suite offered a veranda on which to relax while enjoying a melodious concert of singing birds. Inside a claw foot tub beckons use. The high ceilings, fireplace, tall windows and four poster bed add to the serenity of the room.
The inn’s hosts have given great attention to every detail, offering a well stocked beverage center to keep you hydrated even during July in South Carolina. Snacks and homemade cookies kept us satisfied between meals.
A separate AC unit allows guest to maintain their level of comfort without imposing on others.
Be sure to bring a swimsuit. The property offers a lovely pool in a garden setting and a fire pit for cool nights. Let the stresses of life float away as you swim, float, or bathe in the sun.
Breakfast is an understated luxury with homemade scones, artfully presented seasonal fruit, and a main course of soufflé or other breakfast entree , and excellent, smooth coffee. Linger as long as you want before beginning your day or heading home.

We were in town for a golf tournament at the nearby Camden CC. Steve and Janet have a lovely home and were amazing hosts. We stayed in the Steeplechase Suite. The room was so lovely. It was larger, beautiful fireplace, super comfy king sized bed, the bathroom had a rain head shower and separate clawfoot tub. There was a veranda off the side that you could sit on and relax. Janet made these awesome chocolate chip cookies (we need to ask her for the recipe!) that blew us away. Breakfast in the morning was served on very elegant china and glassware. We hade homemade scones, souffles, and sausage. We couldn't come close to eating everything as it was so plentiful. Anything we needed Steve and Janet were available for us. The property is really quiet and located in the Historic District in Camden. We'll absolutely stay there again if we return to the area!

The moment we arrived at Four Oaks Inn, we were embraced by hospitality at its finest! Steve and Janet have created an oasis that's tastefully decorated, thoroughly cleaned, and there is this feeling of peace and retreat the moment you walk in the charming door. Our Steeplechase room had all the relaxation bells and whistles one could hope for including a fireplace, remote controlled candles, a recessed tv in a cabinet, a soaking tub, a coffee maker, a private balcony, and the best pillows and luxurious linens. Lets not forget to mention the complementary fresh baked cookies Janet made that I told myself had zero calories so I could have more than one.

We woke the next morning to the most incredible five star breakfast, took a short walk afterwards to a historic site, and then spent the rest of the afternoon in their pool that was perfectly styled and magazine worthy. The recommended dinner places on the Four Oaks website made it easy for us to choose a place to dine that night and the gas lanterns and bricked entrance out front made coming in after dark feel safe and welcoming.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. It is truly something you must experience for yourself, but I will warn you that when you stay here, you'll never want to stay at any other bed and breakfast again.

This was my second time staying at Four Oaks Inn in Camden, and I loved it just as much as the first time. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxed, and everything about the inn is perfect! It is very clean, tastefully decorated, and Janet makes scrumptious desserts/snacks! We were also very pleased with how close it was to downtown Camden while also being at the end of a quite street with not much traffic. Janet and Steve go the extra mile to make your stay feel special.

What an amazing place! I HIGHLY recommend this bed and breakfast. The owners were delightful and very welcoming. My husband has a gluten intolerance and they went over and beyond by accommodating him- gluten free cookies, gluten free muffins, etc. They really pay attention to the details and we felt like the first guests they had ever had, as if the room had never been used. Very clean, comfortable, relaxing. Overall we were extremely pleased with our visit. Will definitely be returning!! Wonderful experience!

From the moment we pulled in the driveway a southern calm was felt. Dogwoods and azaleas bloomed a warm welcome. Janet and Steve met us at the door like family. The Inn is beautiful! Attention to detail is amazing. The books in the living room area provide entertainment just reading the titles. Nothing has been spared. Then when you get to your room it continues to be amazing. We stayed in the Civil War room which was decorated appropriately without being overdone or kitschy. Had an old feel to it yet all the modern technology one would need or want. The bedding was wonderful. The towels in the bathroom (yes, I’m applauding towels!) were luxurious and we loved that! There were big fat delicious homemade chocolate walnut cookies available in the common area along with coffee and tea (Kuerig style) water, soft drinks in the mini fridge. Oh and all kinds of chips for those late night snacks some of us might indulge in! The breakfast is honestly like no other we have been served at any B&B we have been guests of. Egg and spinach soufflé one day accompanied by kielbasa sausage. Fresh berries. Fresh OJ. The next morning a delicious frittata-with fresh oregano was definitely 5 star. Oh I almost forgot the huge delicious scones. My husband who normally does not eat bread could not resist it and was thankful he didn’t! Janet and Steve somehow have mastered the gift of being attentive hosts without being overbearing. Truly a B&B that sets the bar really high. Sorry for such a long review. Guess I could have simply stated “Look no further! This place is it!”

We visited Camden for a horse show and booked this wonderfully historic and quiet Inn for our 3 day stay. This place is quaint and cozy if you are looking to relax and get away, tucked in a lovely historic neighborhood. The room is more than spacious with exquisite linens and a lovely bath that includes a soaking tub and very hot water perfect for my aching limbs after a long day of riding!! The huge second floor balcony adjoining our room with french doors overlooking the gorgous grounds added to the tranquility of the perfectly southern surroundings. Hospitality is also an A+! The owners are incredibly sweet and will cook you an amazingly scrumptious breakfast!! Just leave time for a nap after because the portions are plentiful. We can't say enough good things about our stay here. We will definitely return to the Four Oaks Inn for another lovely stay!

We were blest to spend three wonderful nights at the Four Oaks Inn in Historic Camden, SC. A beautiful grand southern style two-story home. Magnificently appointed guest suites - we stayed in the Steeplechase Suite with its beautiful veranda. Located at the end of a quiet street in a beautiful neighborhood. EXCELLENT breakfasts in an elegant dining room with silver serving pieces. Steve and Janet are the most conscientious of hosts, available at any time. There is NO DOUBT we will return again and again.

As a retired couple we have stayed in many Bed and Breakfast Inns from Texas to Prince Edward Island. We had the pleasure of staying two nights at the Four Oaks Inn in late April, 2021. What a treat! The innkeepers were welcoming and attentive, offering both information on the local sights and history as well as freshly made baked goods and a truly over-the-top breakfast! The inn has been beautifully renovated, keeping the historical integrity of the 19th century while adding all the 21st century amenities we all love. We enjoyed relaxing by the pool as well as just sitting in the luxurious king-sized bed watching a wide screen TV that emerged from a cabinet at the foot of the bed! This inn is both classy and homey and definitely worth a stay.

We stayed in the Civil War room at Four Oaks and were very pleased with the service and accommodations. Everything has been recently renovated and felt luxurious and comfortable. The house was the perfect blend of modern and historical, and the decor was very tasteful. The hosts were kind and made us feel at home from start to finish. Anything we could have possibly needed was provided, and the snack area upstairs was a great little extra to make the stay feel special. Everything was simply charming - highly recommend!

Hi! Yes, as long as you’ve made prior arrangements with us. Best regards, Janet Ellerman Four Oaks Inn 803-572-5838
Answer from Janet E
Hi! There are always homemade cookies, candy and chips available 24/7 in our guest refreshment area, as well as water and soft drinks. Each room has its own coffee pot with an assortment of pods that include coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Our breakfast is not buffet style. Guests are served individually with fruit, scones or muffins and an entree. We do not have individual tables. We have a very long dining table at which 3 couples can sit comfortably spaced out. Please let me know if I can be of any further help to you at this time. Best regards, Janet Ellerman Four Oaks Inn 803-572-5838
