We recently has a far far too short stay at the Montage Palmetto Bluff. It is, without question, an extraordinary hotel. It is perfection. Starting with a short 3 mile drive along a tree covered road to hotel - you come upon a beautifully rendered plantation style building. White, with appropriately proportioned features. Simply lovely. Check in was immediate, with the front desk staff knowledgeable and courteous. We felt immediately welcomed. We choose a cottage for our stay. I can only say that if you have an opportunity, stay in the cottages. They are truly something deserving of a feature in a design magazine. It felt like a small home. As a healthcare provider, I can say the plan for Covid safety is without exception, excellent. The grounds are picturesque. With three pools to choose from, the facilities among that best we seen at any of the others hotels we have stayed. Food, typically not the best feature of most hotels, was excellent. It is rare that we have a stay without some area for improvement. We can only say that we hope the Montage Palmetto Bluff never changes - it is perfection. We will be back as soon as we can possible arrange it.

A small group of friends spent five nights at Palmetto Bluff for our annual getaway vacation (postponed from May to September due to coronavirus). Montage Palmetto Bluff looked lovely from the website photos but nothing prepared us for the absolutely perfect experience. We stayed in the cottages, which were luxurious, comfortable and immaculate. We participated in several activities, from paddle boarding to golf to spa to sunset cruise -- fun fun fun! All the restaurants were excellent (food and service). Every single staff member we interacted with was welcoming, professional and personable -- also taking great care with COVID precautions. Our group has vowed to return again next year since this really was a perfect experience. A special shout out to Joseph in the concierge office who helped us book our activities and reservations -- he was great to work with. Another shout out to Frank, who was our caddie during our round of golf. I've only been playing a year and with Frank's great course knowledge and encouragement I broke 100 for the first time!

My husband and I travelled with another couple to stay 4 nights at Montage Palmetto Bluffs. Both couples had special reasons for travel and were excited to get away for a needed vacation. We used Lyft to get to Montage and had no issue. Be advised however, getting one off the property is a challenge as there are fewer out that way. Upon arrival, we checked in quickly and without issue. You need to wear a mask upon entry of the buildings, but once outside you do not need to wear one. We were upgraded to cottage 26. It was one of the first cottages once you locate them. I wish I had more time the first day to go around the property and figure out my way around. You get this about day 2 (if your like me and never use a map). Absolutely loved the cottage feel, but the couple we travelled with had a Lagoon Guest House King, which was just fine too. The cottage offered us a gathering area for us to play cards every night due to the space and allowed us to be a bit louder. The cottage has a large sitting/closet area prior to the large bathroom (with steam shower). The his and her closet space was perfect and we rarely fully unpack but here we did. In the morning, the cottage was nice for the back porch sitting area to take in the day and morning heat. It was wonderful. As we got in later the first evening, I had made reservations for Octagon. I had also ordered a birthday cake as a surprise for my friend. This was the only let down of the trip. Drinks were fine, however the food was very average at best. The cake was not good and we ended up throwing the rest away. Service definitely favored members, as we saw two tables come in and out while we went through dinner due to prompt service, where ours was secondary and much slower in comparison. I had read about this in previous reviews, so I was prepared for the service. I actually appreciated that members are recognized as such as I was considering looking into property here. But, the food here I cannot recommend and of all the meals we had during the week, this was the most expensive and with lackluster food, even after factoring out the cake cost. We never ate dinner again on the property due to the experience here. When we left the resort, we stopped to have a goodbye drink at the bar and again, service was unbelievably slow, serving members first. Luckily we had an hour, otherwise we would have been horribly rushed if we had only come in with 30 minutes to spare. Although the forecast every day had rain, it was beautiful every day and we were able to spend time every day at the pool. We opted for the main pool most days, we don't mind families being having fun. We enjoy that and talking with others if so inclined. Staff here is very attentive and friendly-JT, Grace, so many others went above expectations. There were three pools that we could go too, two by the main lodge and one by the workout area. We enjoyed how friendly everyone is. Staff was wonderful. The Concierge was well above wonderful. Anything we asked for happened, all in a matter of minutes. Stopping in and talking with staff here was a highlight-so friendly and helped you with every need. You need a free car to drive to Savannah in? Done. (They have the Cadillac program.) Due to COVID and the resort only at 70 percent capacity, we were able to get the car any day we asked and any time. During busier times, I don't think this would happen, but it was wonderful for us. This allowed us to travel into town for dinner at Pearl, the Bluffton Room and also to Savannah at Elizabeth on 37th. All of the restaurants we tried listed were absolutely wonderful and we would go back in a heartbeat. Just under $200 for a couple for everything-drinks, apps, entrée and dessert. One night we reserved a private boat ride in their smaller yacht (not Grace). We have done this before at other resorts and this is a must do for us. What a blast-highly recommend. We brought some champagne and had a lovely private tour. Tried to get in tennis but got rained out. The coach seemed very friendly and I wished I could have tried. I will do this on our next visit. We will bring our children next time to enjoy the property as it is kid friendly with so many things to do. We never had time to try shooting, horse back riding or any water toys. You will love biking around the property, it makes you feel good and lets you eat more! Older people won't have any issues with biking the property. The bikes offered for free are very good and the area is mostly flat. We had to cancel the spa day due to wanting to walk around Savannah. So I can't speak to the spa services. We shopped at the stores on the property. They were expensive but fun with very friendly staff. There were deals to be found if that is important to you at the general store and Wilson's. But you need to look a bit. Simply a great vacation. Not a place really to just go and do nothing as there is simply too much to try here you will miss out if you don't. We will be back. Thank you everyone at Montage for a great week.

My husband and I visited on a Saturday night from Savannah. We were beyond blown away by the drive in and absolutely fell in love with every square foot of the property. We’ve been as far as Moscow and truly believe we’ve seen one of the best resorts in the Montage Palmetto Bluff. From the service (Susan and Eric at Fore & Aft) to our room to the wildlife - we were stunned. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the best vacation weekend. We will absolutely be back.

My wife and I went to Palmetto Bluff for our anniversary. The accommodations, the property, and the service was amazing. The cottages are perfectly situated in the picturesque bluff overlooking the river. We can’t wait to go back.
