Rooms were very spacious. Extremely close proximity to downtown and restaurants. Breakfast was delicious! The wait staff were attentive and helpful. The breakfast offerings were extensive. The chef has been given awards for her grits and we agreed they were amazing. Biscuits are handmade and mouth watering. Worth a trip when in Beaufort.

Lovely place with all the southern charm you would expect. The greeting (first impression) was friendly and the Inn was comfortable and inviting. We had easy parking out back, but the lot was full. Our room was downstairs and I would suggest using the lower front door to bring in luggage rather than navigating the steep stairs. I was surprised to read some of the reviews of breakfast, but they actually panned out. We asked for items missing like milk for coffee and butter for toast and they never came. It does take a while for the kitchen to respond to orders when it’s busy. As an ex-owner of a B and B, this is an area to address asap. It is the last impression of the guests so it will be lasting. Overall we liked the Inn, large room and its location and would recommend a stay.

I have been to the red house in two times so far. And will definitely return. The first time was with my good friend and we shared the room on the lower level with two double or queen beds. I’m not sure. The room was enormous plenty of room for four people if need be. Beautifully decorated. The staff could not have been nicer. The breakfast was wonderful and we were so full that we never had lunch anywhere because we were so full from breakfast. They have a happy hour at about 5 PM which was set up with lovely snacks and cocktails. The second time I was, there was with my husband and another couple. The other couple stayed in the main house and we stayed in one of the rooms in the cottage house. That was also equally as lovely. I will be returning in July with my nieces couldn’t ask for a better location one block from the main street with all the shopping and restaurants.

This is our second stay here and plan on returning in the Fall. That tells you a lot right there! The rooms are all unique and very comfortable. The staff is exceptional and the breakfasts are the best in America I tell them! There is so much to see and do in town and the surrounding area!

Nice place. Staff hitmiss which was a surprise. Our room, 12, needed some help. But, breakfast was nice. Amenities thoughtful (pass to Hunting State Park for instance). And overall a place we'd return if ever in town again.

We stayed at the Rhett House over the Christmas holidays. The Inn is on a quiet street, just off the main street through town and within easy walking distance to the downtown area. It’s over a block from the water, so there really aren’t any great views, but it is perfectly situated for touring the town. The Rhett House is spectacular, and it was a privilege to stay in such an historic home. Our room was on the first floor, with entrance off the veranda. It was spacious and comfortable, but there was a lot of stray light from outside at night, and the immediately adjacent bank of air conditioners constantly went on and off. Having a room without stairs was a benefit, but I am unsure if we would stay in that room again. Parking is off the street, behind the Inn, and the lot can be full, in which case you may find a spot on the street. Our interactions with the Inn were always very pleasant, and I loved that they provided a suggested itinerary of local places to visit for your stay. The front desk staff were always very fun to talk with, and we enjoyed our interactions. Breakfast was excellent, cooked to order, and the famous pancakes earned their reputation. It’s worth a stay just to enjoy the breakfast. The cheese hour is nice, and I imagine it would be great to sit outside on the veranda to enjoy it. It was too cool for us to sit outside in the evening. We will stay here again on our next visit, as I know of nothing that comes close in service and ambiance.

Wonderful visit! While I am generally not one for B-n-Bs, this one exceeded my expectations. Along with feeling a true sense of privacy, the staff is super friendly and helpful with local recommendations in regard to things to do and places to eat. The breakfast and evening snacks/desserts were also amazing. Also, the location is perfect, a block from a waterfront and shops/restaurant's downtown.

Let me start up with the positives since that list is short and sweet. The breakfast is great and the bed was comfortable and well appointed. Now on the cons: We booked 2 x Queen rooms three weeks in advance directly through the Rhett House Inn website (no 3rd party apps) When we first arrived, we were informed that our room was given away to somebody with the same first name. The woman at the front desk could not figure out how to fix it, so she got the owner to come help. Unfortunately the owner was more concerned with fixing the TV in room 4 and making sure there was a pie in the oven, and couldn’t be bothered with our botched reservation. We were told we would need to wait until the hotel manager arrives before they can come with a solution. After nearly 2 hours, they ended up putting us in a long room and a room with 2 twin beds. We woke up this morning to find out there was no hot water and that maintenance was still on their way. We decided to head down to breakfast kill some time until we could all take a hot shower. That’s when we discovered that the door lock was broken and had not been locked the entire evening. When we got down to breakfast Was abrupt and rude to put it kindly and made the rest of us feel like we were perhaps inconveniencing her for some reason. The food again was delicious. The owner, who clearly has ZERO business acumen about about him, and was more interested in fixing the TV in room four and making sure that the pie was in the oven to make sure that their guests had any place to stay that evening. Would not recommend. Good luck to the staff.

Wonderful historic inn located in the heart of old Town. Nice, confortable rooms. Cocktail hour and deserts at 7ish. = charming. Of special note, the breakfast was one of the best meals on our trip so far. What could be special about blueberry pancakes? Only one way to find out. Thanks Chef Bev

I woke up this morning missing Chef Beverly’s breakfast. We considered inviting ourselves to her home for Thanksgiving but didn’t want to be rude 😂 We absolutely adored The Rhett House and the sincerely sweet hearts of the staff that cares for it and their guest. We stayed in the cottages with our own little porch and personal parking spot, our room was clean and comfortable. The weather was lovely while we were there but we could resist turning on the fire place in the evening for ambience. We took full advantage of the abundance of amenities included in our stay. Complimentary bicycle’s , beach passes, beach chairs, beach towels, afternoon snacks, evening desserts ! We felt absolutely spoiled!!! I have to give a special shout out to our hometown girl Robin , thank you for the fun chats. Go Vols 🧡 can’t wait to visit Rhett House again soon.
