This is a BEAUTIFUL place and beaches. The lighthouse is NOT for those who cannot climb stairs and get light winded.Once you get to the top,it is well worth the view. Everyone will love the BEAUTIFUL beaches.

We had site 161 and it was very suitable for our 18' Aliner camper and a 10 x 10 canopy. The site was, high and dry, fairly level and easy to back in to. Just a stones throw away was one of the several restrooms on the property. I was disappointed in the condition of the restroom as there were... More

Unfortunately we were there the day after a tropical storm dropped several inches of rain on the park. Several sites were under water. Because of a weather cancellation we got to stay in site # 45 and it was great. Not 50 yards from the ocean under live oak and palm trees. We learned from other campers that the choice... More

We bought a older travel trailer, and refurbished it. I didn't want to go to far from home because of the repairs we had done. You could call it a test run. Well this test run took us to one of the most beautiful camp grounds we have ever seen. All natural beach with camping spots at the beaches edge. The... More

We visited this area after my graduation. I absolutely loved this beach area with the lighthouse and relaxing, quiet beach. It is a must see when visiting Beaufort! Such a hidden jewel! I will definitely plan to spend more time here in the future.

We made it over the NARROW bridge on US 21 just before the park entrance (watch for the small, brown "camping" sign near entrance) on the way in, but I should have pulled the mirrors in for the trip out. Trucks should take this bridge SLOW & STAY RIGHT with your mirrors as close in as you can get them.... More

The campground is one of our favorites to make a quick trip. Sites are not to small and even the ones off the beach are still within walking distance to the beach. The sites near the beach are a little smaller than the ones farther away but have a nice breeze most of the time coming off the water. The... More

This is the best state park we have experienced and we have visited most in North and South Carolina along with several in Georgia and Florida. The location is great and the natural beauty of the park are astounding. We camped in a site right on the beach-the dunes were the only thing between us and the beach! The staff... More

Hunting Island State Park was magical! We loved our trip here! What a spectacular destination! So relaxing! We showed up with our camping gear in the evening, checked in, and pitched our tent at Hunting Island State Park. Most of our neighbors had campers but our tent didn’t discount the trip in any way! Our site was just steps from... More

We visited this campground for a Spring Break trip. The campground was very clean and staff was friendly. The beach was huge and very clean. It was a very quiet place with not a lot of things to do so it was a perfect place to get away. We went as a couple and had a tent but would be... More
