What a special little spot! Serene, luxurious, yet so laid back. Simply had the most relaxing and fun time here, rooms are comfortable and well planned, staff super warm and friendly, food excellent, and so many fun activities outdoors to enjoy and explore the area. There’s a “feeling” here you can’t quite capture in photos, but it’s something you need to experience. Can’t wait to be back!

Fresh air, chirping birds, water views abound at the Weekapaug Inn. We came here for a 3 night stay while it was still "off season." Weekapaug Inn is located on the Rhode Island shoreline. It is a short stroll away from the beautiful Weekapaug Fire District Private Beach which is available to hotel guests. The grounds are verdant with Adirondack chairs, a sweet playground, a fire pit, bicycles, a fantastic swimming pool and more. This comfortable New England inn is dog friendly (70 lbs or less) and people friendly! From the second we arrived, we all felt at home. was given the royal There was a "dog bed" in our room that was covered in snacks and toys for our dog. Our room was stylish and pretty. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was pretty with Molton Brown products and there was fresh water (in reusable bottles) and a fantastic jar of freshly made granola. We ate dinner in town one evening at Longo's (we recommend it!) and we ate at the inn 2 nights (we recommend it!). I believe the menu at the inn changes with the seasons but I will say we loved the spring pea salad, the short rib gnocchi, shrimp cocktail and halibut. They have a nice wine list. Next time we go, we will eat at the restaurant again - it's very nice. We have not been to the Weekapaug Inn in the summer. We understand the area is very busy for obvious reasons, but for our time here, the quiet was perfect. We'll be back!

After Delta cancelled our summer trip to Asheville on a Monday I called the Weekapaug Inn from the airport and booked their last room for Tuesday. This beautiful resort was a great impromptu plan B for my husband and myself. Having been to the Ocean House twice in the winter we were excited to explore the area in the summer but wanted a pool so decided to try the Weekapaug Inn instead. The resort is set in the most idyllic setting and we loved the various activities you could do (pool, kayaking/paddle boards in the pond, beach down the street, and a host of resort run activities. We took the last room in the hotel which faced the pond so it was a great view (my style is generally more modern looking but understandably so that’s not the vibe of the place). We thought everyone working there was incredibly friendly and if you aren’t aware they have these great (and incredibly challenging) puzzles that make for a great evening or rainy day activity. We did yoga twice and thought both activities were great. We also borrowed the hotel’s Volvo to test drive which was fun and took it to breakfast at the Cooked Goose (highly recommend).

Where I think the hotel can do better:
- like everywhere else the hotel is short staffed. Dinner was very slow and we saw another couple at the Cooked Goose for breakfast because they gave up on waiting for breakfast. As someone alluded to we even saw the super hard working general manager cleaning up at the pool. At the Ocean House where we went to dinner (and where they seemed to have an abundance of staff) our entrees took over an hour to come out so the meal was comped. I know this is happening everywhere, it’s just harder to stomach when you are paying 1000+ a night. They also were out of so many things that they advertise - no foam pillows, no scones or muffins at the beach bar, no pedal boats to borrow, no chairs set up by the beach when we arrived at 10am and no one who was able to set those up).
- guests at the hotel can play tennis at a local “pond club” which is a plus. The downside that we didn’t realize is that pond club members use the hotel pool. In the am this means a lot of members come to swim laps (and they were all talking quite loudly, ignoring our yoga class trying to be zen). And in the later afternoon you have a lot of club families show up disturbing the peacefulness of the pool area. I’m assuming the hotel benefits from this arrangement but it’s a real downside for guests hoping for a more relaxing atmosphere.

Overall we had a great time and were ao thankful to snag the last room of the week!

I do not recommend staying here, especially if you are travelling with a pet. While they advertise that they are one of the top pet friendly hotels in New England I would beg to differ. My husband and I have stayed at this property a couple of times before and while the grounds are lovely, the staff has always left something to be desired for the true "luxury" experience. Before booking my husband called the hotel to confirm all of the pet policy details as the website info wasn't clear and we now know the true pet policy is buried in links within links. We were told that our dog was not allowed on the beach due to town rules but would be allowed on the lawn and pool area...great we decided to book!

We checked in just before noon and were told our room was not ready but we could enjoy the amenities so we decided to lay by the pool which was nearly empty aside from the kids doing cannonballs in the pool. As soon as we entered the pool area we were approached by a server who did not ask our guest info, offer a towel, menu or anything else but instead asked if our dog was a service dog. When we said no we were told we would need to leave. I reiterated what we were told and a few moments later a manager came out letting us know our dog was not welcome in the pool area....so because our room wasn't ready our only option was to sit on the lawn.......

I decided to check out right then and there. I understand if policy is policy however how the situation is handled could have been improved dramatically. When you are paying nearly $1,500 a night and then an additional $200 to have your dog with you the approach is simply not acceptable and the lack of communication on their team's part is 100% at fault. Our dog was sitting quietly, disturbing no guests and making no noise so this could have been addressed at a later time. Additionally there is no kitchen in the pool area so I struggle to understand how health code could be a part of this. The way to handle it should have been to approach us if there was a problem and or mention it at check in.

Outside of this experience it was clear that they had gone down hill. In front and next to the pool area there was a crew taking down an event from the night before- making noise and speaking loudly with one another when this is a relaxation area of the resort. The pool/gym bathroom was completely filthy with garbage on the floor and there were kids being extremely loud as well as fresh bird poop on several of the lounge chairs. It seems there were more pressing matters the staff could have been dealing with rather than being concerned over our dog.

Lastly, there was very minimal parking and we were forced to park in a staff area. Never once did the valet approach us or offer to help with our car/bags. I do not recommend staying here.

Dear akp003. Thank you for posting your experience at the Weekapaug Inn. Our pet policy is posted in different areas on our website, and we do apologize if the policy was unclear to you. Our General Manager at the Inn did apologize for the misunderstanding about the policy and permitted your dog on the pool deck until your room was ready. Although it was our belief that your husband was fine with this, we apologize that you were not. Due to your misunderstanding about the policy and you being upset, we did not charge for your stay and waived our cancellation penalty as a courtesy. Additionally, we do apologize that there were kids were bothering you during your time at the pool; the Weekapaug Inn does pride itself on being family friendly. We appreciate your feedback regarding the cleanliness of the outdoor areas and will be sure to investigate, although we do want to mention that all cushions are inspected each morning and throughout the day. If you would like to discuss your stay further, we kindly ask that you email us at communications@oceanhouseri.com with Trip Advisor as the subject line. Warmest Regards, Dant Hirsch President and Managing Director

My boyfriend and I spent 3 wonderful nights here and can't say enough about it! Even in the middle of a pandemic the Weekapaug Inn delivered big time. Our room was gorgeous, we had a fantastic time at the beautiful pool and beach, and we loved kayaking and paddle boarding every day. Everyone there is so attentive - Clevious took great care of us at dinner and Mehmet and Nate helped my boyfriend propose to me! We are so grateful that the Weekapaug Inn made our stay so special, and we can't wait to return.

One thing we really loved is that the inn encourages you to arrive before checkin and stay after check out so that you can really take full advantage of their amenities. We arrived early and our room happened to be ready, but on our last day we definitely utilized this perk and spent the afternoon at the beach after checkout. The bathhouse at the beach even has (attractive and sparkling clean!) showers you can use.

The boathouse was probably my favorite part of the inn. You just walk right up and can borrow kayaks or paddle boards or whatever you want. Everything we wanted was always available and we never had to wait.

The pool is gorgeous. It's warm, has a great view, and the service there is attentive. The pool staff makes sure you have towels, and you can order just drinks or a whole lunch there. There was ample seating every single day. The gym at the pool has a great selection of equipment and an entire wall of doors that open up which made us feel comfortable using it given the covid situation. Staff meticulously cleaned and disinfected the lounge chairs and gym equipment after use.

Another great perk is being able to visit the Ocean House as well. We went to the spa there for massages and also ate at one of the restaurants. We had hoped to also play some croquet there but unfortunately we ran out of time!

One thing to note is that the pool and hot tub close at 7. The pool staff generously let us push that a bit, but we wish it had been open later. We also wish there had been more lobster available at the lobster boil - we had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed it, but we were there for the lobster and wish we could have had more than 1! Overall, though, we really loved the dining experience!

All in all, this place is a gem. The staff is a highlight and they work efficiently to anticipate your needs. We are eager to get back there!

Can not say enough positive things about our stay at the Weekapaug - the surrounding nature, tranquility, amazing meals, and beautiful rooms with views.... felt so fortunate to visit in early autumn. The feeling of the busyness of life run out of you upon arrival felt so good - the experience and setting are so well designed to help keep that going for your time at the Inn. Thank you, Weekapaug!

A weekend at the Weekapaug Inn, regardless of the weather, is a treat for the senses. Pouring rain dampened activities outdoors, but a crackling fire and friendly staff made our indoor time feel like a visit to a manor house.
The highlight of our stay was a family wedding. As the weather cleared, expert staff arranged the rolling lawns for the ceremony. We utilized every space in this lovely inn including a huge tent. Meals were served by a team of well trained staff who kept an eye on our needs which were met unobtrusively. Our sincere thanks to all of the staff who serviced us with efficiency and a smile. You truly brightened our stay.

My wife and I selected Weekapaug based on our daughter’s recommendation as a previous guest and our wish to drive to a resort from New Jersey. We were delighted with our 4 night, midweek July stay. We arrived in the rain on a Monday, early 2:00 pm arrival accommodated. Dinner on the Deck very nice, perhaps the best NE clam chowder ever. Sunshine on Tuesday, so after breakfast in the restaurant, we had the hotel shuttle bring us over to the lovely beach. Staff quickly set up chairs and an umbrella. Sound water warm at 69 degrees, easy in and out. Our room was #37, great table and chairs overlooking the Inn entrance. Coffee, tea and sodas just down the hall, all day access. Highlight was the Thursday evening Lobster Boil, outdoor tables on the water, great buffet, steel drum player. All staff was most welcoming, could not do enough for you. We enjoyed talking to our waiter on the Deck from Ocho Rios. Impeccable twice a day maid service. Only improvement opportunities would be to add milk to the floor coffee areas and a few more chaise lounges at the pool. We had a lovely time here!

My husband and I just returned from a wonderful long weekend visit at the Weekapaug Inn. Our spacious and comfortable suite had a scenic view of the salt ponds. Our bathroom had all the amenities that we needed including bathrobes which we wore to the pool and hot tub. We also enjoyed a nature way on the beach, bike riding, yoga class and a boat ride on the salt ponds. Chef Andrew's meals were plated beautifully and tasted even better. The waiters were very attentive as well as all the employees that we encountered at the Inn.

Very good question - I believe so. I think it is part of the "boat club" that is directly across the street from the beach. I am fairly certain guests of the Weekapaug Inn are permitted to use the facilities there.
