Ocean house has been on our bucket list for years. With our 1st anniversary approaching, we decided this was the perfect opportunity to visit watch hill. This is our 6th R&C property we have visited, and I can honestly say that this visit far exceeded our already high expectations. From the warm welcome at the front door, to the exceptional housekeeping service and we cannot forget their wonderful summer interns, Helena at the bistro and Eduardo from the Mexican restaurant pop-up on the porch (Best Asada tacos we have ever had!). Ocean house takes training and branding very seriously and their seamless anticipatory service is a direct result of great management. I highly recommend checking this property off your bucket list as soon as possible.
I have been going to the ocean house and I can not say enough about the property, views and hotel. Today we attended the Mother’s Day brunch. Staff wonderful but the food was mediocre at best. Extremely disappointed.
The facility was picturesque but some rooms were dated. Staff were polite and professional but short handed most of the time. Foot was good but came with some stupid rules like to have a sandwich one had to move to a different room and wait till a certain time. Reservations had no clue what they were selling so call the hotel with questions if they pick up the phone.
Gorgeous seaside location and charming historic property. We stayed during off-season and it was great to experience this property and its serene surroundings without the crowds. The service was excellent, dining was solid. Nice indoor pool and fitness center. The hotel also had a spa, private cinema, game room, and culinary and wine center. During winter they set up an outdoor Veuve Clicquot “Gondola Village”. Kids loved the scavenger hunt around the hotel. We loved the room — an Ocean Terrace Suite — which came stocked with lots of complimentary treats, snacks, and drinks (both alcoholic and nonalcoholic).
Everything was perfect the moment we arrived at Ocean House. The staff was amazing and so attentive. The dining was impeccable. And the amenities - words cannot describe how beautiful and relaxing everything was. Even though it was winter, the grounds were picture perfect. I highly recommend visiting any time of the year!
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Ocean House. We stayed in a Terrace King and we found the room to be clean and well maintained. The hotel has amazing grounds that were great to walk around. I decided to give it four stars (in instead of 5) largely because it is a rather expensive resort so the great amenities and high service to me are more expected than a benefit. If you go, we'd suggest you you try a Dandy Cruise, which is a private boat tour of the local area by water. It's an additional charge, but we learned a lot and it was nice to get out on the water for a couple hours. Lastly (and not a huge deal), but the parking situation is a little hectic and so it can be challenging to "come and go". If you plan to use your car, give the valet a heads up or else you'll end up waiting. All in all, a good experience probably best reserved for special occasions to truly enjoy.…
First trip to the NE coast for my wife and I. We went in the spring but would recommend holding off until the summer months if possible since they seem to have many more activities for the guests. For the exception of our initial check-in the service and staff were excellent. While the food at the bistro restaurant was a bit spotty at times, our experience at Coast was phenomenal. We had difficulties with the scheduling at the spa but ultimately this turned out ok. The AMG fleet was a nice added bonus. Enjoyed it overall.
This was my second time visiting the Ocean House to experience the Gondola Village! I highly recommend the experience. Not only is it one of the best meals I have had in a while, but the experience itself is well worth it. It is also a great way to eat out while being socially distant this winter.
We started coming to Ocean House about 5 years ago. Since then, we've managed about 2 or 3 visits a year. Each time, we are struck by the beauty of the location and the exceptional service provided by all. It's the small things that impress, like being recognized by the maitre'd. And that it's in our guest notes, what server's table we like being seated at. Or because this trip was in celebration of my husband's birthday, there was champagne and special snacks in our room and a birthday card on our table at dinner for him. They make everything so easy and pleasant. We usually make our next reservation before we leave, which we did this time too. We'll be back in March and when we leave, we'll have made our August reservation. Since covid, we have given up other travel. We are both so grateful that Ocean House is a safe and splendid destination, close to home.…
In full disclosure, I grew up in Watch Hill and am biased to the beauty and serene ambience of the area. As a child, I was at the Ocean House often, and sadly watched it fall into disrepair as the years past. Luckliy, it was saved by a generous and forward thinking gentleman and restored to the grandeur it so rightfully deserved. The exterior and interior of the Ocean House is stunning. You are footsteps away from the ocean and miles of walking beach sand. The staff is highly trained in accomodating the most dicerning guest, and tends to your every need. Whatever your interests are while on property, there is a daily event schedule that is diverse and interesting. The culinary offerings are also diverse, ranging from casual to well thought out dining masterpieces. I can not endorse this property enough. Well done everyone for making my "coming home" an incomparable visit!…
