Wife booked a massage today. Asked the therapist if they were vaccinated. Awkward pause "I'm not allowed to answer that" ... so no, they were not vaccinated. Another employee DID answer my sister in the room next door. Awkward massage for the wife. She was in tears thinking she potentially put our little girls at risk by spending time with an unvaccinated person in a small space. When she approached a "manger" about this- she was in tears- he showed 0 sympathy, 0 remorse, and was, in her words, an "a hole". I wrote to the GM. Her response? pathetic. A dozen or so misspellings and typos. And this is supposed to be a 5 star resort? Hey it has an awesome view and is super expensive so if you want to feel really important by overpaying you can patron this business but they clearly contradict their website message of safety being their #1 priority for guests and staff. Even simply asking the guests to ensure they are OK with a non vaccinated person would have been sufficient.

Hotel's Favorite
We only stayed one night and we had the Ocean View Deluxe with Balcony. We were celebrating many occasions and hotel staff and manager made sure everything was perfect from check in to check out. Our room was gorgeous, large and cozy all at the same time and best of all, CLEAN! with exception to greasy fingerprints on the closet door. Bar and snacks were complimentary, which was an added plus. We opted for room service for dinner and for breakfast which we enjoyed on the balcony. Everything they do feels special, even with room service. The roll in a cart, the food is covered, still and sparkling water provided, breads and pastries, fine linens made in Italy. If I could I would think about trading in my home to live in this room.

This was not my first visit to The Ocean House. The resort was fully booked, yet they were still understaffed. Housekeeping hadn't cleaned all the bird droppings on the railing of my balcony in a long time. We booked a private cabana on the beach, but still found it challenging to get the service we had expected. The breakfast room was so understaffed that it took 1/2 hour to get a cup of coffee. The kitchen prepared dishes, and they sat under the heat lamps for way too long, so nothing was served hot. This was our experience for all 3 mornings we were there.

We stayed at Ocean House the week after Memorial Day to celebrate our wedding anniversary and "babymoon". Although the weather did not cooperate, we were still thrilled with the elegance of the property, the service, and the food. Make no mistake, it is a pricey vacation, but it was worth it. We felt utterly relaxed by the end of our trip. We dined at Coast twice, the more casual restaurant options a few times, and ordered room service breakfast every day. We each had 2 spa treatments and they were both fantastic. We enjoyed the short walk down to the quaint town/shops. We did have ONE beach day, and we were also happy with the beach bar, food, and beautiful beach/view/setup. They also had a fun cocktail-making bike down at the beach (which I couldn't fully enjoy being pregnant, but my husband had fun!) The room was also elegant and clean, and the housekeeping staff left us little gifts at the end of each day. If I HAD to nit-pick here are the things I would critique: (1) we did a cooking class and the regular chef was on maternity leave. the new chef was very enthusiastic and we had a healthy meal, but none of it was hands-on (we didn't chop, peel or do anything). Also we left the experience hungry which seemed a bit odd considering the price. We were allowed to have some of the wine that was already open...I also feel that beverages of our choice should have been included given the price. (2) small pool - nothing they can really do about this, but I was underwhelmed with the size of the pool. If you had 2 families in there it seemed crowded. (3) No heat lamps on the deck - considering the weather, really should have invested in some of these. Bottom line is I would absolutely recommend Ocean House and I can't wait to return someday!
