WOW! What a beautiful resort! First time here and we were highly impressed. All the staff addressed us by name (not sure how they knew who we were). The room was well appointed; there was an embroidered pillow with an S on it for our last name. This is the first thing I noticed (the devil is in the details). And I loved the fresh apricots and fun snacks in the room. The room was immaculate and beautifully designed. The hotel has really beautiful art on the hallway walls and throughout the hotel. We had dinner and breakfast in the casual bistro and both were really nice meals with great service. We rode the hotel bikes around town but the real highlight was renting the hotels boat, The Dandy out for a private two hour tour. The hotel is right on the beach, if you are a beach goer you can't beat this location.

I was really looking forward to relaxing and enjoying a wonderful day a the Spa. It was my first time and was very excited to try it out instead I walked away being extremely disappointed. The facilities are nice, staff nice but the treatments are extremely disappointing. The message and wrap were a total waste of my time, lotion was rubbed on me while I laid in a very cold room. I even told them it was cold and that it didn't feel like much, yet nothing improved. I would not recommend this Spa, unless you want to be disappointed and waste your money. I wasted over $700 and for that money, I want to be happy.

On a whim visited the Dune Cottage Restaurant at the Ocean House. Staff member Rushell provided excellent service to us. I say this because when I encounter staff that goes above and beyond, they certainly deserve to be noted as such. Thank you again Rushell and Dune Cottage. We will defintely be back!!

Quintessential New England Inn located on top of a bluff with easy access to a beautifully curated beach. Arrival was met warmly by hotel staff who shepherded us (and luggage) to our assigned room efficiently. Room was of a good size and luxuriously decorated and stocked with expected amenities (for the rates charges) including unrestricted access to snacks and drinks. Wifi access was free and the signal robust and reliable. View was of the Inn's beach and Block Island Sound and a renowned singer's abode. Room was also well appointed with a good selection of power outlets at the work desk and next to the bed, which was very comfortable. Bathroom came with a deep soaking tub and walk-in shower that invited an extended stay (to make sure one took full advantage of the great products). Common areas were well kept (beautifully) and serviced by attentive staff. Inn provided daily offerings of interesting activities and food (restaurant) that were of good quality and taste. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit - made more relaxing and rejuvenating by the beautiful venue and great staff.

For years my husband and I have been staying at the Ocean House for birthdays and anniversaries. We have stayed with and without our children and even stayed with extended family. I have even stayed at the sister property, the Watch Hill Inn with friends. In addition I do an annual day trip with girlfriends to use the spa, have lunch and dinner and spend time at the beautiful beach.. In the past few years the policy has changed and day guests are no longer allowed to use the beach. I found this out last year and when I spoke with the manager she apologized and gave us a key card for the beach. This year when I booked our spa appointments and dinner reservations I brought up the new policy and was assured that using the beach wouldn’t be a problem. When I arrived however. I was told that we were not allowed to use the beach even though we were spending over $800 between the spa and dinner. When I spoke with the manager who had previously granted me the beach access she had no memory of the situation and would not grant us beach access for the day. I promptly cancelled my dinner reservation and don’t plan to return.

Dear Marymad30, First, we thank you for selecting Ocean House for your past celebrations. We value you as a guest and sincerely apologize for our communication. Regretfully due to neighboring covenants that were enacted when the hotel was re-built, we have never been officially allowed to provide access to day guests to the beach. Local restrictions allow us to provide beach access for only overnight guests. We hope we can regain your trust if you decide to return. Warm regards, Daniel Hostettler, President and Group Managing Director Antonia Korosec, General Manager
