Hotel's Favorite
We had our wedding at NYLO and it was better than I could've ever imagined. The food and service was excellent. The view of the river from the deck was exactly what we wanted for our day. We stayed a few days before the wedding at NYLO as we are from out of town (always choose NYLO when coming to RI). The check-in process was easy, the modern rooms gave a great romantic vibe for the weekend and the staff is so accommodating and helpful. We had many out-of-town guests stay at NYLO and all were so pleased with their stay with the rooms and the restaurant, etc. It was great having all our guests in one spot. No one had to worry about transportation (because NYLO also has an airport shuttle) and the space that NYLO has to offer allowed a lot of time to spend with guests outside of the wedding day itself. Thanks for always being so great NYLO. Definitely a must stay.

Really not accommodating when everything was messed up. The entire place was under construction including the bar and restaurant. They said the makeshift restaurant was open at 4 so we waited but no they lied and it was open at 5. There was no room service. Literally no way to get a drink or something to eat. Then the water in the shower was cold. They didnt seem to care either. I left.

Rooms need to be looked at before someone checks into them. Room was 55 degrees, thermostat wouldn't work. Tech still didn't show up after 45 minutes. Slow draining bath tub, dirty floors/desk. Paint coming off the walls. Loose wall outlets. Fan knobs missing or broken. Light in room was set to a motion detector that only stayed on about 30 seconds.

+1
I liked the originality of this hotels' style, which was designed to showcase the historic Pontiac Mill. A thoughtful touch - the fabrics used in the lobby and cafe furnishings are featured on a sign that belies the original purpose of these mills, which was the manufacture of textiles. This hotel is located minutes from a large shopping mall and numerous restaurants, and they have a nice looking cafe/restaurant inside which I didn't try. Lobby was on the dark side but still cool looking. Renovations on top floors didn't affect my stay. Check in was easy and front desk folks were welcoming and nice. Halls showcase the mill's architecture with a window at the very end letting in natural light, and there was an ice machine next to a microwave for the entire floor to share. I didn't get the room across from it but I did get the corner king which was right next to the elevators. Soundproofing was decent however and with my damp towel against the door, and TV on, just perfect. With 3-star hotels I'm used to a microwave and mini fridge in the room, neither of which was included. Wiped down the commode with my Clorox wipes as there was a stain and some hair on it. Also wiped down most other surfaces and switches afterwards and noticed that the a.c. goes only as low as 67- so if you like a cold room in the summer, keep this in mind. Rug was worn but again, renovations are in progress. Great river views from my corner room though one window faces a busy road so for privacy you have to move the end table to climb behind the bed to reach the shades. Bed was amazingly comfortable and luxurious- ah, there's the 3 stars! Loved the rainfall shower, and the mint tea that was available. The k-cup selection was illy brand, but I brought a couple of my own as well as some s-bux Vias. I wish there had been room service for breakfast since there was no fridge to store leftovers, and part of a nice hotel experience for me includes a posh room service breakfast. All in all, I left a good tip for housekeeping because I'm not a (total) savage, had a great nights' sleep and enjoyed my rain-spa showers. Nice coconut-scented shampoo/body wash amenities. Would I stay again? For business, sure- to avoid PVD rush hour traffic, this was a winner. For leisure I'd stay in town for a more upgraded experience. A note- I emailed the hotel twice asking a question about the fantastic mattresses they used, and a week later have had ZERO response. Unprofessional. So I contacted them through Facebook- twice- then after the 3rd attempt their PR person got me the info that I asked for. She was very kind and professional. Communication with guests needs improvement.
