It’s been a rough year for many of us! Mine, more than most!! I lost my Mom to Covid-19 in May!!! There was a lot of things to take care of after that...all I wanted was a little escape! I got everything done and felt some relief, but decided I needed to get out of CT!!! I just randomly googled places in Narragansett...we’ve stayed at the Holiday Inn before and love it there, but wanted a little something more this time! I found The Break...booked a Water View Suite on the spot...a little pricey, especially considering the economy right now and that many of the amenities weren’t available because of Covid, but my Mom loved to travel so I just went for it!!! As it turns out, My Sister and her Family’s go-to is The Break...ironic or maybe a sign! The Customer Service was outstanding...especially since the hotel had a modified staff! Everyone was super accommodating!! I had an amazing massage with Dale...who followed the Covid Guidelines...I highly recommend a trip to the Spa at The Break!!! We were a little bummed about a few things...the rooftop area was closed! I understand that non guests visit that location, but I feel it could have been opened just for guests, safely!! Similar to the Pool Area...we could just go up...order some “take-out”, if you will and bring our drink...they could have set up tables or whatever within the safe distancing guidelines!!! The other issue we had was from the kitchen...I am a Chef...I understand this is a strange time and requires some adjustment, but generally, the Food Service Industry always does! The hours of Food Service were very limited...breakfast orders were placed in advance so there was no reason not to be prepared!! We heard the Chef many times swearing, throwing things and arguing with his staff!!! We also saw into the kitchen...the Chef did not have on any PPE...no hat, no gloves, no mask! I am ServSafe Certified and saw many things from the kitchen that were very unsafe, especially during this crazy time!! I work Catering, sometimes an event lasts 13 hours...this man could barely make it through 4...all the while berating the staff!!! I think it’s time for a change there! Overall, I was very happy with everything! I especially loved our Suite...my BF snores...it was so cool to be able to close the doors and actually not sleep with earplugs...LOL!! We took turns...one night I had the couch and the other I had the bed!!! Beautiful View, Great Location, Awesome Atmosphere & Amazing Staff, especially the Manager and the Lovely Woman with the Dark Hair who Checked us in...never got her name...😌😌😌

We visited in mid-June, during Covid days. The restaurant was open for poolside, Bistro or room service food, which worked out well. The food (and free breakfasts) was delicious. We suggest that they update their beer list to reflect current tastes in beer (e.g. drop some of the 1980s yellow beers in favor of more craft brews and IPAs). The interior of the hotel and the pool area is beautiful and those who appreciate good design will love it. I missed having a more extensive outdoor space. The building sits among parking and right on Ocean Road, which is busy. Unfortunately, due to Covid the rooftop space (views, bar and food) was closed and I think this would make up for the lack of extensive (or any) grounds.

A big shout out to the staff. What a fantastic job during unusual times. This hotel is beautiful inside and out. Sitting at the pool area made you think you were at a tropical resort. Mark and the staff all did an exceptional job making everything run smoothly and made our group of firefighters feel very appreciated. Well look forward to another visit
