The Ocean Rose is in a great location for Narraganset. You are right on Ocean Road overlooking the water; although you can’t swim there it’s a great place to walk and is also accessible to plenty of places to eat. We stayed in the annex building and our rooms were comfortable, quiet and clean with a beachy vibe. The staff was nice and helpful when we needed them. The nearest beach is a short drive away, maybe 5 minutes. The reason I’m giving four stars instead of five is only because the food at the Inn was disappointing. Their continental breakfast was just some fruit and pre-packaged muffins and coffee with fake cream. We got pizza at the restaurant and it was edible but not yummy. It didn’t effect our vacation though because the Inn is near breakfast cafes and plenty of other restaurants. If they could improve the food I would give five stars. Either way I would still come back next summer. Everyone in my family- age 6 to 72 enjoyed their stay!

The cottage room was dirty and absolutely loud. The clima compressor is in front of the cottage rooms and is running 24 hours. Pricelevel and room quality isn't ok. The breakfast isn't a breakfast it's a corner with some snacks........ Absolutely bad bad managing in this house....terribel bad. The front staff is ok but they don't have any competence to decide.

We spent this Saturday at the Ocean Rose. We were more than pleasantly surprised. After what we now know was a pretty exhaustive updating of the property in the last few years, this place is proving itself well. We stayed in the premium Ocean Facing Balcony King (room 1), and it was near perfection. Beautiful design, "elegant beachy" decor and furniture, with a balcony overlooking the water that might be as good as it gets in these parts. We also talked to some of the employees there, who shared with us they've renovated appx 90% of the rooms in both the main building and "Annex", and the rooms are indeed great. You're going to part with some cash to stay here, but the proximity to 'Gansett beach is priceless as is the view. Here's why i'm only giving it 4 of 5 stars - there's a great restaurant on site, but since it and the hotel are different ownership, it's not a seamless experience as it could be. Also, with that, the hotel itself doesn't offer any option for breakfast and the restaurant is lunch/dinner only, so if you're looking for a hot morning meal, you've got to go off property, but of which there are some great options. All in all it was a wonderful experience. We're already talking about when we'll be going back!

Hi Dan J! Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful review! We are so happy to hear you enjoyed the newly renovated room and view! It really is breathtaking, our location across from the ocean. In regards to the breakfast, we do hope that in the future we have access for providing a hot meal, but until then we do offer our guests continental offerings including muffins, fruit and granola bars. We can't wait to welcome you back soon to experience another summer stay, here at the Ocean Rose Inn. All the best, Alyssa Gergel

I booked the Ocean Rose Inn while my daughter was attending new student orientation at University of Rhode Island. I was a bit hesitant because of the less than favorable reviews and 3 star rating. I booked based on the photos that were posted and am very glad I did. The place is just beautiful. It is quaint and charming, the staff friendly and welcoming. The room was spotless, the bed extremely comfortable and the bathroom was beautifully tiled with a nice size shower with nice water pressure... Having the Turtle Soup restaurant in the inn was very convenient for a cocktail overlooking the ocean and it was only a 5 minute walk to the Coast Guard House where we had dinner reservations ( Also very good..) Like I said in the title, this is exactly what you would want in a seaside inn. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the included breakfast was a bit disappointing. They serve a small assortment of prewrapped danish and granola bars with a orange or banana. A little more attention to this and this place would be perfect. Despite this I would definitely stay here again.
