My husband and I stayed for 6 days in Room #11 and loved everything about the motel, especially being able to walk across the street to enjoy the beach. We were afraid the road would be busy, but it was only when the beach was open 9-6 each day. The staff is so nice, accommodating and friendly. One of the cleanest rooms we've stayed in and though not as spacious as the nearby Fairfield Inn or Hampton Inn in South Kingstown, we would definitely stay at The Anchor Motel again. We found the new check-in, other changes since Covid to be no problem when we needed anything. Either leaving items to be refreshed on our front porch or texting the staff was quick and easy. Hope to return next summer!

Response from Christine Reposa, General Manager at The Anchor Motel
Responded 2 days ago
Thank you so much for the 5 stars, Debra! I’m really glad you found our new self check in procedures to be pretty simple. It’s very convenient for us too since we sometimes aren’t in the office to check in late arrivals in person. So glad you enjoyed your stay here and that you plan to return next summer! We are already taking bookings for next summer actually! We look forward to seeing you again soon! Have a great rest of the year!

The Anchor is an adorable, family run motel across the street from Scarborough Beach. The rooms are efficient and clean. A little fridge in each. Did I mention across the street from the beach? We have stayed here every year for 5 or 6 years, as do our siblings. A perfect beach motel.

My sisters and I visited Rhode Island for the fourth time this May. We have only ever stayed at the Anchor Motel. We have no desire to try a new place since we are so happy with this motel. The rooms are always incredibly clean and it’s a quick drive into town. The beach across the street is awesome and there are trails and old ruins to explore. We also like the location because we can easily make a day trip into Newport, Tiverton and Middletown, our favorite places to go.

Ocean view beautiful. Beds were not comfortable. We had two doubles and they were not comfortable at all. There was a refrigerator and the room was very beachy in decor. The location was great for beach going and close to Point Judith and many restaurants!

We loved our getaway to the Anchor Motel recently. The owners are easy to work with and the room was perfect. We were able to check in online so our room was ready for us to walk into on our own. The rooms are quiet. I could not hear anyone near us and there were quite a few rooms occupied.

I spent 5 days at the Anchor and loved the striking beauty of the ocean and nature walks with panoramic ocean vistas. It's very special to be able to share such a location at a reasonable price. There are restaurants nearby as well as shopping locations. Mostly I like to go there to take photographs, walk the beach and paint. I can catch up on my reading, too. Fabulous Newport is not far away. All the rooms have a nice view, but I have a special one that costs a little more, but is worth it! This is a family owned business and they really care about people. Wonderful stay!

We were pleasantly surprised with this motel. First of all the location was superb. Across the street was the beautiful Scarborough Beach. It had a wonderful walkway with numerous benches and gazebo's . It was safe at night walking since it had lighting down the walkway, The neighborhood was also very residential and easy to walk. The motel was well kept and very clean. It was an older motel but it did not show it's age. We loved the porch in front of our room and where we spent a lot of time when not on the beach. Our motel neighbors both sides have been there numerous times. The room was comfortable and had just what was needed . The family that runs the motel certainly show their love and devotion to making this a wonderful experience for guests. We will be back!

My wife and I stayed here when visiting our daughter at college. We would normally stay in larger hotel chains to enjoy the amenities. We ended up staying in the Anchor B and B and could not have been more happy. Our room was clean, big and comfortable, never mind the fresh coffee and muffins in the common room every morning. Also has a great ocean view from the front porch. This is now my go to when in Narragansett.

I love reading & researching about hotels, motels & inns. I’m extremely picky. This wonderful gem, is a family run business and it shows! I stayed in room #14, it was beautiful, bright, airy, clean, comfy and feet like home! I planned a mother/daughter getaway and this was perfect! Car parked in front of your room, front porch to eat on or sit, walk across the street to the beach and back if you need anything! that alone was heaven! Attentive, caring staff that cares about you along with the motel. Don’t second guess this booking, I can’t wait to book this location again & again. Oh and the sunrise this morning at 5:30am was amazing!! Thank you Anchor Family!

This was our first visit to Naragansett and The Anchor Motel. After more than a year of quarantining in a Manhattan apartment, it was great to get away. The Anchor Motel exceeded our expectations-clean, clean, clean, which you can’t always say about a motel. Fantastic, chill location-right across from the beautiful Scarborough Beach! I highly recommend this little gem if you want a relaxed vacation with great restaurants an easy drive to attractions and great food! We’ll be back!
