Just plain unwelcoming and very corporate behaviors - not a beach or boutique environment at all. Room wasn't ready at check in time. Newport is so relaxing this was not a relaxing at all and ruined the vacation

We’ve never been to the Newport area before, after a little research we decided to stay near the water. My husband informed the hotel that we were celebrating a special occasion and we were upgraded to a room over looking the pond. Very spacious room with 2 beds. Near cliff walk and my advice is take a uber into town as is expensive to park and you don’t have to deal with finding a spot. Tickets restaurant was great, We would definitely come back again .

Nothing bad to say about this hotel as far as the rooms. But that's it. Wifi is spotty at best, so if you are trying to sandwich in Zoom meetings for work, you're screwed. There is a small indoor pool. IMO it looked much bigger in their photos. The staff is very friendly and helpful. THE BEACH is another problem. Do not stay here if you want to go to beach where you can swim. There is an influx of red seaweed and it is horrible. It smells. You can wade into the water but that's it. I recommend you take ride around Ocean Drive to the rocks and park on the side of the road and enjoy the RI shore that way. It's a 5 min drive and you will have a great beach day. There are plenty of places to stop .

We had a great 2 night stay here. Rooms are “very” spacious; we had a king and a queen with a small privacy wall in between which worked out great with my wife and I in the king and my 15 yo daughter with some privacy in the queen. Great view of pond, some had ocean views, but we liked the pond view as we spent 3 days on the ocean beach. Nice kitchenette and bathroom. Walk to Easton beach, but there was a ton of red algae on the side closest to the hotel so I dropped everyone off with chairs, etc, closer to the concession area (middle) and then took the car back to the hotel and walked. Ate at Tickets one night, very good with excellent service and prices. Great coffee, breakfast sandwiches, liquor store, pretty much everything we needed in short walking distance. Staff very friendly and helpful. We took a 3 ½ mile walk in the morning from the hotel to the cliff walk, very nice. A few things could have made it better. There were no weights of any kind in the exercise room only a handful treadmills and ellipticals. At least a universal machine would have been nice. There was no security. Anyone can walk into the hotel, hallways, fitness center etc. That being said, we felt safe in the area so not that big of a deal. We also had no continental breakfast due to the pandemic, but can’t blame the hotel for that. Finally, no dressers or storage in the room at all. I have never seen that. Might have been an issue for a longer stay, but not so much for 2 days. Not a 5 star hotel but giving it 5 stars for the value.
