This place was just what we needed for a long weekend to visit the Newport Mansions. The room was comfortable with powerful a/c, King bed, and with refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. Free wifi and large bathroom with full size tub completed the experience. Although the exterior has great period detail, our room was standard hotel decor, and the continental...

What a quaint little inn we found while surfing the internet! The Carriage House Inn is a small inn, located in a residential area. Although you cannot walk to a restaurant or sightseeing, you are within a 5 minute drive to Newport and all the shops and eateries. The inn is so neat and the people running it and working...

I was disappointed at first at how far away it was from the heart of Newport, but the staff quickly resolved that by informing us about their shuttle service ($8 round trip per person that is tacked on to bill for convenience). Rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff was extremely friendly at every instance we interacted. Only slight...

I don't know if anyone has written a review BEFORE they arrive at The Carriage House, but I want to. I find their Front Desk Personal (Alec) WONDERFUL! I called to confirm my reservation for our upcoming Trip and he was BEYOND helpful and kind. If this is any indication as to what our stay will be - well, all...

I stayed at this hotel with my 15 year old son when he was participating in a lacrosse event in Portsmouth. The event occurred on 7/5 but we arrived on the 4th. The weather was rotten as there was a hurricane offshore. Check in was a breeze and our room was spacious and clean. The hotel is located in a...

Spent 3 nights with kids, room was spacious and clean. Location is good , 5 mins driving to Newport centre, very friendly staff, breakfast is good but served in the lobby. The terrace is not as big as it seems in the picture on the internet. Will definitely stay there again.

After reading other reviews had some reserves. Our two night stay May 28&29th was not disappointing. Our room was very clean and more room than expected. You are not far from Newport and other attractions. The staff was very helpful in finding places we wanted to go to and places to eat. Our room was in the front and the...

My wife and I stayed here in late June for 4 nights. Our room was large and clean. We were on the first floor, overlooking the back deck and near the lobby, but in spite of that, it was pretty quiet. There were some drawbacks....the mattress on the king bed wasn't the most confortable in the world, but it was...

I stayed one night at the Carriage House Inn on June 18, 2014 booked through Groupon. It would have been cost me $130, however, paid $70+Tax. 10 minute driving distance from Bowen's Wharf , very quiet at night because the inn was located at residential area. It had a huge bathroom, almost same size as bedroom, microwave, tv, and coffee...

We were on the first floor in Room #6 and were pleasantly surprised at how spacious the room was. The room had a mini fridge and microwave. There is free breakfast, but the dining area is limited, so we ended up bringing the food back to our room, which worked out well. The bed was comfortable, and the furniture a...
