Owner-occupied motel located on Easton's Pond in the Atlantic Beach District of Middletown. Walk to beaches (400 yards to First Beach / Easton's Beach / Newport Beach) and the Rotunda, the Newport Cliff Walk and local dining including Johnny's Atlantic Beach Club ("The ABC"), Flo's Clam Shack, Easton's Point Pub, Atlantic Grille, Aquidneck Pizza, Tickets Sports Bar and many more. Two miles to downtown Newport and mansions. All rooms are non-smoking and have the following amenities: coffee-makers with morning coffee and tea, cable TV with remote, phones with free local calls, microwaves, refrigerators, free high-speed wireless internet access (must have own laptop), blow-dryers, irons and boards, private bath/shower combo, private entrances on both levels. Sorry... no pets or animals allowed.

We booked the Sea Whale Motel because it was an affordable alternative to very expensive hotels in Newport RI, but it turned out to be much more than just affordable. The live-in owners were extremely helpful and pleasant. The room amenities were perfect for us (microwave, fridge, adjoining rooms, etc.), it was very clean and well maintained, and the back deck had a great view overlooking Easton Pond where we could watch the group (bevy?) of swans that summer there. Although technically in Middletown, RI, the Sea Whale Motel is very close to all that Newport offers in addition to the restaurants and shopping close by. I would definitely recommend staying here.

What a GEM by the sea !!! My wife and I tried the Sea Whale Motel for the first time !!! We loved the place !!! First we were greeted with friendly smiles from both the owners/operators , letting us know if we need anything to give a call! The place is extremely well kept !!! Grounds are beautiful and gardens are pretty!!! Our deck room was CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN !!!! Gorgeous view over looking the water! Glass sliding door with chairs to sit on the deck! Air conditioner worked beautifully, and the queen bed was very comfortable! Nice little sofa , microwave, small fridge and coffee maker. Everything we needed .walking distance to the beach , restaurants. We caught a beautiful sunset from our room setting over the water view! We will back !!!! This is the 4th time I’ve stayed here. It is very clean and well kept. The rooms are well appointed with everything you need. The bathrooms are clean and fresh, excellent water pressure, full tub for lots of shower room. The flowers are beautiful. Lovely deck to sit on in the evening to watch the sun set. In the mornings I enjoy watching the swans and ducks in the pond as I sip my coffee. The owners live there. Terri and her husband are so welcoming and helpful if you have any questions. Less than 2 miles from Newport. Restaurants in walking distance. You can even walk to the beach. I will definitely stay here for a 5th time on my next Newport trip! The Sea Whale is a Gem!

All we can say is"Perfect" !!!! The owners Teri and Jeff are so friendly , helpful, and have a wonderful place to stay when you visit Newport and the surrounding area. So very clean and well appointed. So close to everything. We had a great time and will return.

On the spur of the moment, we decided to take a trip to Newport. While searching the internet for a place to stay that was reasonably priced, we found the Sea Whale. This is an older motel, but it is very well maintained. The owners are on site and keep it like their own home…rooms are spotless, lovely flower boxes, and Adirondack chairs overlook the water. They are also very accommodating, told us we could call at any time if we needed something, and gave us suggestions for places to eat and things to do in the area. The motel is less than a mile from Easton beach, a mile from the cliff walk, and two miles from Newport Harbor. And with traffic in Newport, we found walking to be the best way to get around! We will definitely stay there again!

This is a small motel run by the owners who live on site. Small details tell you that it is run by people who care, such as the well-maintained fresh flower pots all over the property. The room was not very big but clean and convenient. The location is great, a 5 min walk from Easton Beach, Newport's longest beach. From the room balcony you see Easton Pond, where you can see - and hear - many birds (the owner, Jeff, is happy to identify them for you). All in all in was an unexpectedly nice stay.

Great little motel in good location. It was clean and spacious. Owners were super nice and helpful. A few good places to eat and drink in walking distance. Would definitely stay here again when I’m the area. Decent price compared to other lodging in area.

On a last minute whim, we chose to stay at this motel. We were greeted immediately by Jeff and he made us feel comfortable and welcomed. This quaint, retro looking motel is so very clean and quiet. Both Terry and Jeff are hands on and available at all times. The location is perfect. The flowers on the property looks so beautiful and the outside chairs to sit and look at the waterway is calming. I highly recommend this motel if you are looking for cleanliness, friendly and warm service and a great location. Thank you Jeff and terry,

Great find! We found last minute on a road trip, great service, very friendly! Loved the room, even got lucky with life of pets on tv for my kids haha! Has all of what we needed/ wanted and expected. The outdoor area was also very nice, not something out get at every hotel. If ever back in the area I would not hesitate to come back!

The Seawhale Motel was perfect for our first trip to Rhode Island. The rooms are very clean and have everything you need. My husband and I enjoyed the deck and views. The owners are very accommodating. We added and extra night when our plans changed and we were able to make a quick switch of rooms. We will be back!
