Recently stayed at LCGH..December 2020-January 2021 in the lovely third floor apartment with views of Narragansett Bay, Newport, and the Newport/Pell bridge. Enjoyed the spectacular sunrises from the multiple windows facing the Bay. Beautiful accommodations and hospitality. Thank you Lisa for making me feel so welcomed. This is a special place to stay while enjoying Jamestown and the surrounding communities.

Every summer my husband and I try to book 2-3 weekend getaways in Jamestown and we always stay at the Lionel Champlin Guest House. Lisa, the owner of the guest house is a wonderful host! She is always so warm and accommodating. We have so many wonderful memories of Rusty also who always greeted us with a smile! Each room at the Lionel Champlin Guest House is exquisitely decorated. I cannot stay enough good things about this place. It is truly a magical place to stay and always makes us feel peaceful and happy. Thank you for making our Jamestown getaways so amazing and we look forward to making many more memories here. Thank you!

I've been staying at the guesthouse several times a year for many years and have always felt like I was coming home when I returned. Each of the rooms has its own unique flavor but all are cozy and provide total comfort. Each room is filled with many books and magazines on different subjects so there is never time to be bored when staying in. The proprietor is interested in providing all amenities a guest could want and each morning bakes wonderful bread or pastries along with providing other food selections to choose from and the best hot coffee. The guesthouse is centrally located and an easy to walk to the Newport Ferry and the local Jamestown stores. I've met many interesting return visitors and during the warm weather its wonderful to sit on the comfortable porch furniture and make new friends. The prices are exceptionally reasonable for this area and I have never felt the need to look for anyplace else. I always look forward to returning regardless of the season and love the feeling of coming home each time I step into the entry foyer. I recently stayed there from September 18-22 and was impressed with the cleaning procedures and the fact that rooms were left vacant for at least one to two days after every stay. I felt extremely comfortable that every precaution was being taken and it is one of the few places I do not hesitate to stay at during this Covid pandemic. I highly recommend what I consider my home away from home and favorite nearby place to escape from New York City.

I decided last minute to book a trip to Newport for Father's day weekend and found this place. We stayed in the "apartment" with our 2 girls (1 and 4yo). We had a private entrance to an upstairs single bedroom suite with kitchen. There was a walk in closet in the master bedroom which was the perfect nook to put our little one's pack n play and our toddler just slept in bed with us. Next time, I think I'll bring a small mat so she can just sleep on the floor because the bed is a queen and my toddler likes to take up half the bed. It was super clean and everything just had that high quality, solid feel. It was not dusty or cheap feeling like many other airbnbs and bed+breakfasts we've stayed in. It was one of those places that looks even better in person than in the pictures. Lisa, the inn keeper, was so welcoming and accommodating, it felt more like we were staying at a friend's home than an inn. Within a 2 min walk are also a few amazing restaurants and a small brewery. Plus, it was half the price of many other Newport inns. It was just the place we needed to recharge from the pandemic. We will definitely be coming back!

I spent a long weekend in Jamestown at the Lionel Champlin Guest House for the first time during the Newport Folk Festival a few weeks ago. I typically stay in Newport but this will be my first choice from now on! It was so peaceful, the inn is just a few minutes walk from "downtown" Jamestown, where you can find the cutest cafes and restaurants without feeling overwhelmed by touristy options. Definitely visit Village Hearth Bakery for their fresh breads and Sunday pizzas or grab a coffee from Slice of Heaven and sit near the docks downtown where you can see local boaters gathering around to hear the music traveling across the bay. We stayed in the Rose Room, which has a spacious and lively setup with a beautifully tiled enclosed bathroom. Every morning there was fresh coffee, fruit, and a local or homemade pastry (the banana chocolate bread blew my mind) and plenty of seating on the front porch. I'd have to say what I loved the most was the eclectic mix of contemporary art and books in the common spaces and in the rooms, not one stodgy oil painting of sailboats or ocean views that are better to visit in person :)
