This place is fantastic. The rooms are a little dated but clean and spacious. Golf...amazing, Becca and Matt in the Pro Shop, Johnny at the front desk and Logan at the bar/restaurant made everything come together. Friendly and overall great service and food too! The course (only played front 9) was in great shape and challenging. The rec center was a great surprise. It has everything! This resort is not a usual stop for me, but I was visiting family. It was a great experience all around. Also, the people that obviously were "locals" Made me feel comfortable and welcomed.
Room was large, had a nice view of the golf course, and was clean. Beds were comfy, got a good night's sleep. Walls were thin, could hear baby crying next door. Lunch provided at conference was decent. Plenty of parking and room rate was reasonable. Would come back again in June, only issue is there is no pool, which I find odd for a "resort". Would like to have tried the spa, but not enough time.
1. Rooms stink of smoke. 2. We came unwittingly on a weekend when the hotel was hosting an enormous children’s hockey group. We were warned at check-in that the group was there, that they are there every year, and that they are extremely noisy. The front desk told us that they hired a security guard for the weekend to handle noise complaints. 3. Well, the front desk was certainly right. It was complete mayhem the entire weekend with kids screaming and running through the halls unsupervised all night long while their parents drank and partied. It was essentially a frat party plus kids. On top of all the smell of marijuana was rife in the hallways. 4. I am all for kids hockey, all for the group having fun, and freedom. HOWEVER - the hotel has no right to lure unsuspecting guests without warning. They could’ve easily called us in advance to let us know about this and give us the choice to stay somewhere else. 5. I would never stay in this lousy hotel again. They put the Almighty buck of selling one more room ahead of the considerations of their guests and this is a clear violation of their duty as hoteliers.…
HH has been our family’s Go To spot when we gather from out of state. We’ve been staying, playing, and dining here for decades. We’ve even held a family wedding here and have many happy memories. Sadly, the new management/owners have done nothing to maintain the hotel. I’d like to say it needs a “refresh”, but in fact, it needs a renovation. The furniture, decor, carpets, and wallpaper have not been maintained and are now dark and stained. There was no more than one person working the desk throughout our 4 day stay and often times, the desk appeared to have no one working. The furniture has been removed from the lobby, causing the hotel to look dark and abandoned upon arrival. There were beer bottles and empty cigarette boxes in the floral arrangements outside the front door for several days. There was a pervasive smell of smoke (and it wasn’t cigarette) throughout the hotel. It was clear from all the signage that the owners are invested in the new restaurant “The Avenue”; Happy Hour in particular. This comes at the expense of families or folks who aren’t there for happy hour. Another family member and I tried to arrange a dinner party for 6 at The Avenue, to celebrate a birthday. Over the course of two days, we were unable to access a restaurant manager. Although there was a helpful waiter the first day, who assured me we could bring a bakery cake in, when we came back the following day cake in hand, we were unable to get restaurant staff to open the doors. It was five minutes after they were scheduled to open. They also did not answer the phone when we tried to call for assistance. It’s very sad to see such a significant decline in what used to be a beautiful and special place for our family. While I understand that Covid has put a strain on all businesses, the condition of the hotel and lack of service in general couldn’t be written off to Covid. We were grateful to the dedicated, long time staff person who worked at Mini Golf, as well as the hard working waitress at The Avenue our first night there. Next time we will take our business and spend our money elsewhere.…
This hotel is best defined as “a place to stay overnight”. Amenities include beds and towels. It’s clean. What it lacks is coffee anywhere in the hotel except for a small machine in the room. No coffee in pro shop. No breakfast anywhere complimentary or otherwise. NO furniture in the very large lobby. No swimming pool inside or out. No appointments available at Spa or tee times ( well one available before 8:00 am. I was tempted to swing by a Holiday Inn express for the luxurious spread of buffet breakfast and coffee but of course wouldn’t. Using “Resort” in your property name implies a mild level of amenities that this hotel is nowhere near. It’s probably fine for business meetings or events but as a mere visitor to York to see family, not up to snuff at all.
Went for one night to celebrate my son and nephews birthday. We purchased the stay and play package and it was definitely a money saver. The hotel was accommodating and clean, I’d suggest bringing pillows if you tend to sleep with firm pillows. With the package you also get a $25 coupon for the pub located on the premise; food and drinks were great!! Loved the beer on tap selection!! Prices and service were great also! Not too much to do in surrounding area unless you drive about an hour, but this is a great one night getaway for families. The tubing was perfect for coupes up kids of all ages.
I am a single mom with a 4.5 year old and was thrilled to find something fun & outdoors to do that would be Covid safe. I drove 2 hours, booked 2 nights and it s 12:40am on night one snd the noise is so bad, my som finally fell asleep an hour ago and I’m still wide awake. There are groups of 10 or more people on my floor and inside the resort without a mask, no enforcement and a total lack of consideration for others. I tried to handle on my own and I was met with hostile behavior, I was sworn at infront of my son and I’m scared to leave my room. I contacted the front desk, he could not have been nicer but he is 1 person on a property of over 100 rooms without any authority to enforce the state regulations. Stay FAR away!
We had an excellent experience with Heritage Hills in using their meeting rooms for a week of meetings. Due to COVID, it was important that we make everyone feel safe, and they did a great job of doing this. We had a lot of changes throughout the week but the event planning team was so flexible and easy to work with. I highly recommend.
This resort is very dated, carpet is very old along with furniture. The rooms are very dark with little lighting, refrigerator was old and the door did not shut well. No glasses and very little dishes and silverware, no cooking supplies, no paper towels, drying rags, basically nothing for the kitchen. We were in a suite, expected more for what we paid. Will not stay here again. On na positive side the front desk staff was very nice, the outside bar area was also very nice, Food was pretty good.
My family and guests all raved about the accommodations provided by Heritage Hills Resort during our stay for my daughters wedding on Sept. 5, 2020. The staff was very pleasant and obliging during our stay within the COVID-19 pandemic. The rooms and common areas were very clean. We had a fantastic view of the golf course. We were fortunate when Heritage Hills Banquet room was available to host our rehearsal dinner. Luckily, they had an availability due to our original venue cancelling due to Covod-19 and the number of guest we had. The banquet room was huge and lovely. The appetizers and buffet were all delicious. I can't thank the Heritage Hill staff enough for a wonderful weekend celebrating my daughter's wedding. Dee G
