this place is mismanaged. they rent out to groups then rerent the same section to someone else violating the contract. the place is filthy. there are not enough toilets in the ladies room 1st floor for the number of people there on a saturday. the drinking fountains are disgusting to the point of just looking at them will make you throw up they definately violate fire code in not having enough doors to exit and you would have to exit in a single file if it was necessary the place is so mismanaged and the parking lot needs repair

We stayed at the farm house and arrived to dirty, stained upholstery inside the house and empty beer cans and cigarette butts littered throughout the back of the property. There were no instructions on how to set the thermostat so we spent the first night sleeping in 60 degree temps. Housekeeping did not come and the trash piled up on the front doorstep. Finally, on our last night, the water shut off completely. I would not recommend staying at the farm house. Resort staff aren't very helpful. The Avenue Ale House and snow tubing are ok but we'd never stay at the resort again.

Was forced to stay here because we were participating in a hockey tournament. The hockey tournament was fun but the hotel staff was extremely rude, especially the younger lady at the front desk. Website for the hockey tournament indicates you need to stay to play and the team needs to book 6 total rooms. Our team booked 7 or 8 rooms i believe. I decided to stay late (had other plans) so i booked a room with credit card points. 5 minutes after entering the hotel, the rude younger woman at the front desk threatened to disqualify our hockey team because I booked through a 3rd party. This after I already talked to hotel management earlier that month about my booking. Our team manager also cleared it through management. Still, she gave me attitude, took my hotel key card and threatened disqualification. nice welcome to York, right? The theme for the weekend ended up being disqualification and anti-fun. I stayed at this hotel the prior year for same tournament and we had a blast. Apparanlty they have new owners now though i was told by some of the staff who seem to be on edge now. They put all the hockey families on the same floor but do not allow hanging out at all. We were just talking in the hallways, making very minimal noise and the staff was up immeditately with their no fun policy to tell us to go into our rooms. This was at 8:00 pm. I would recommend this tournament to anyone the previous year but dont suggest that people go now. Half the fun of away tournaments is hanging out with your team and letting the kids have fun. i've traveled a lot in my life and have never experienced a hotel staff as rude as this one. go somewhere else if you are not forced to stay here.

Greetings Trip Advisor Travelers! Thank you so very much for sharing comments about your experience during a busy winter hockey weekend. Heritage Hills is known for its seasonal tournaments of various sorts during this time of year. With our outdoor seasonal hockey rink, multi-lane snow tubing and a 60,000 square foot indoor arena and fitness center, winter time offers us an opportunity to welcome many different folks from around the world each year. With a diverse and robust cross segment of different types of guests traveling for various reasons (including wedding parties, reunions, corporate meetings, family travelers, team based sports groups and traditional transient and resort guests), any given night at our hotel is a true cross section of the broad traveling public. Unfortunately, in years past, a lack of attention was given to ensuring all hotel guests were equally important, including direct attention to noise, which resulted in negative experiences for non-group guests. When some groups would socially congregate in hotel hallways, unintentionally block fire exits or the access to and from elevators for other guests and generally disturb other guests in the hotel, even if unintentionally, it created a less than positive and unfair experience for those other travelers also staying in the hotel. Since hotels are known for being hospitable, our aim must always be to take care of all of our different guests, regardless of the reason for their stay. Due to regulations and requirements imposed on hotels by fire officials and others, congregating in hallways, blocking access, playing sports in hallways, etc is simply a matter of being a life safety issue and required our attention. While the resort should have addressed the concern in the past, we do have alternatives other hotels do not including many spaces throughout the resort, indoor and out, where folks enjoy time together with their children. This includes a two story restaurant offering featuring a new pizza oven cranking out homemade pizzas, a patio area, miniature golf, driving range, 18-hole championship golf course, snow tubing and more. It is our sincere hope that your child did well and enjoyed the tournament and that all of our guests appreciate our focus and attention toward making their stay both safe and enjoyable. Best Wishes and Safe Travels! The Staff and Management of Heritage Hills Resort

We had a one night stay in late November. The hotel room (queen double) was very nice and appeared to have been recently updated. Room and bath were clean and well appointed. Lobby was ok but could use updated which talking to the staff is scheduled soon. Front desk staff were always courteous and helpful. The Avenue for breakfast was another story. Entered the empty lower restaurant area and could not find a hostess or server around but smelled food and noticed a breakfast buffet had been set out with a good selection apparent. My wife finally called into the kitchen and they said they would locate someone. A few minutes later a hostess appeared and informed us they only had the "all you can eat" buffet available which was $10,99 per person. Since we had an appointment to make we decided to go this route. What a mistake. The only thing on the hot buffet that was even slightly warm was the breakfast sausage, scrambled eggs - COLD, pancakes - Cold, hash brown - luke warm. Finally settled for toast, fruit and yogurt which we made. Even though we were the only people in the entire restaurant, the hostess/server only came around once to check if we needed anything - like coffee refill - and that was when we were finished. We just got the check and left figuring any complaint would go nowhere given the lack of attention we received in the restaurant. Overall thought - plan to stay in the hotel, find someplace else to eat

This place is an absolute dump and looks like it hasn't had an update or deep cleaning since the 70's. I had a nightmare visit in April 2019. A single elevator was only working requiring long waits to get to your soom. My room had a phone that did not work, a clock that could not be reprogrammed showing the time before daylight savings (over 1 month prior) and had a malfunctioning microwave beeping and flashing 11:11 at 1am without being touched. the microwave was installed in a built in cabinet and could not be unplugged. I requested to have my room changed out of 308 due to the faulty amenities in the room. The attendant blatantly lied to me stating they were sold out when they weren't. I demanded to speak to a manager and their manager "was off" for the weekend. I requested to speak to the maintenance person on call to be contacted. after contacting him, suddenly a room became available. The room I was switched to (206) was dirty! hair on the pillows. dust built up on the lampshade. lipstick on the bed spread. desk chair looked like someone peed on it. and there was filth all around the TV. I slept in my car! The next morning, when I went to retrieve my belongings, both of their elevators were broken requiring guests to carry suitcases down multiple flights of stairs. after checking out, I attempted to get in touch with a manager 7 times over the next 4 days. I filed a chargeback with my credit card due to the breach of agreement for services. my credit card agreed with me and refunded the money. I also attempted to cancel my reservation for June back in April and apparently their staff is incapable of performing simple job tasks. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. There is no hospitality here. Management is non existant and your issues with your stay DO NOT MATTER to them. Go to the Hampton Inn. Go to a Marriott. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AT THIS DUMP!

Greetings 570sah, Thank you for taking a few moments of your time to share an experience that we agree is not in keeping with what a Resort should be. As one of a core group of new owners who have recently acquired the Resort, it is exactly these experiences we have come here to eliminate as part of a revitalization and repositioning effort of the entire Resort. I offer my sincere apologies to you here, publicly, for the experience you had but do hope that under new ownership, you will consider us again in the future as our in depth changes and investments, ranging from new amenities, facilities, renovations, equipment and offerings in the hotel, athletic center, restaurant, and other spaces which are currently underway, would likely be something you might be proud of and wish to experience at some future date. We recognized that the facility, built in 1997 had aged and needed attention and exactly why we acquired it and believe your future visit will be radically different than what you experienced previously. If you would like to speak with me, I would be glad to share what is underway and what the future holds for all of our current and future guests. Hoping to have that opportunity with you if you have time to speak with me. Best Wishes and Safe Travels, Dan Johnson, CHA, CHIA, CHDT Partner, Vice President of Hotel and Spa Heritage Hills Resort
