We can't thank everyone at the Crowne Plaza enough for hosting such an amazing birthday party for my daughter's 5th birthday. The Pastry Chef, Chris Polk, put together a fun afternoon for the girls in his Pastry Studio. Everyone decorated their own individual Shopkins themed cake to take home - complete with custom made Shopkins cookie cutters. The attention to detail was impeccable. Ryan, our server, was extremely accommodating and made our party run smoothly. A huge thanks to the Chef for a delicious lunch. Laura Taylor made this event extremely easy to plan - she is amazing. All of the guests had a great time - I would highly recommend.
I was really surprised by the great food and staff. Usually these mid range hotels don't have that. The Vege Lasagna and cakes were actually AWESOME! Salad was fresh and nicely presented. Was at a function which usually was blah-but these people did it right!
No fridge or microwave in room. Stains in toilet bowl looked like blood, but was rust. Dirty on outside of tub. Room was dusty. K cup pods were limited and I went to get regular ones at front desk and they wouldn’t give me them, can’t drink flavored coffee and didn’t want decaf. Beds in NY room 231 were small but comfy. No fan in bathroom it really fogged up and tub drainage slow so you stand in water when showering. Food was good for breakfast. Dinner was bleh, was frozen chicken cordon blue all dried out. Would not recommend this hotel at all. Staff sent us down the writing wing to rooms, hard for those with canes.
Stayed Fri & Sat nights. Nice appearance in lobby area but musty odor immediately noticable upon entry to lobby and to the M-F only 5th floor room. It's an older place that the company has worked hard to keep current. Nice pool and gym facility. Breakfast was a disappointment especially for the price of the hotel room, being no better than motels costing half the price per night. Room was clean and we'll kept. Staff doing their job well.
This was the 5th year in a row I stayed at this hotel, at the same approximate time each year. This year my stay encompassed the final 2 weeks of September and the first week of October. The hotel was exceptional in every way. The accommodations were very good. Comfortable bedding with both soft and firm pillows, excellent water pressure with plenty of hot water, high quality sundries, and an ample supply of soft thick and what appeared to be new towels. There was also a great Indoor Pool and Fitness Facility, which I did not take advantage of. I guess the point here, is the hotel more than provides the expected physical amenities. What really makes this Hotel special and memorable to me is the staff. I checked - in in the wee hours of the morning. Ed ( the night auditor ) remembered me from the previous times I stayed and had my room waiting for me with a process that took all of 10 seconds. During my lengthy stay I interacted with a good many of the Hotel's Front Desk Staff. I visit the area each year to call on Local Businesses for an Annual Publication I help put together. Insight offered by the staff was invaluable to me. Ellen, the Hotel's Concierge, Deborah, the Front Desk Manager, Vincent, Front Desk Supervisor, and Alex, and Levi,Front Desk Associates, were Employees and Managers who I interacted with almost on a Daily Basis, who are knowledgeable, professional, friendly, etc. Bernadette from the Sales Office also remembered me from previous visits, which was very impressive. On the Same note, no review of this Hotel would be complete, without mentioning Paul ( The Am Chef ) and the Exceptional Breakfast. Paul not only remembered me, but seemed to greet all of the guests like they were "near and dear" to him. His Buffet Breakfast ( I often opted for the French Toast topped with Fresh Strawberries, Raspberries, and Hot Syrup) or cooked to order omelettes are a perfect way to get the day started. Paul along with Jack and Tattiana (the 2 Restaurant Staffers) get an A Plus for all 12 mornings I ate Breakfast at the hotel. In closing, I will simply reiterate how impressed I am by this Hotel and its staff, year after year. They really make me feel like a VIP.…
