We have stayed at this hotel many times. Convenient, clean and comfortable. It is located near a great restaurant that serves great wings and craft beer. It is clean and comfortable for parents who have children at West Chester University.
This Holiday Inn Exp as of 11/2019 has not received its upgrades that most others have already. That does not matter because the housekeeping staff and management has kept its Standards up there with any other that has had the upgrades. The rooms were impeccably maintained and clean. Kudos to the staff. This is why I choose the IHG brand and will continue. Located right in busy rte 202 just a couple miles from the Wilmington, DE line and PA-West Chester University. However the hotel itself is quiet and you would think have more wear/tear to it. This HIE could go at least another year before upgrades if needed if all the rooms were like the one I had. I would recommend it.
So, this is third or fourth time I’ve stayed here and while it’s still a fairly good property, it’s time for some updates. Our room has the most disgusting mildew smell in it when we first arrived. We couldn’t switch rooms because they were all sold out. So we used an entire can of Lysol over two nights and it still wasn’t enough. In addition, the water pressure was hit or miss the entire weekend. And there was noticeable peeling of the wallpaper throughout the room. Front desk staff was great, breakfast was too. They just need to update the decor.
The hotel room was clean, but a little older than other holiday inn Express that I have stayed in before. In the corner, the wall paper was peeling, the remote was missing a battery cover, and there was a stain in the tub. The staff was friendly and quickly corrected a problem with our quoted price. The continental breakfast was pretty good and staff continued to replenish food. I would stay here again, but I think the room may need some updates.
The staff was very friendly and informative. The room was very nice and clean. I really liked the shampoo, conditioner, and body gel supplied directly in the shower on a rack. Everything worked perfectly. The only problem that I have is that there were no USB ports available in the room. I was not able to have breakfast because I had to leave quickly the next morning, but my father did have breakfast and said that it was wonderful. We will definitely stay again.
