We stayed at the Sisters House (owned by the Artist's Inn and nearby) just after Christmas, 2020, and it was great experience in every way. We're an extended family of nine, ranging in age from 6 to 85, and it's not easy to find a place that works for all of us. But this is it.
For those who want to avoid climbing stairs: the Sisters House is actually 2 houses, joined in the middle. Each has 3 bedrooms--in fact, each side is the mirror image of the other side. There is a ground-floor bedroom in each house with an easily accessible shower.
There was room to gather together and rooms we could retire to when we needed some peace and quiet. When a minor problem developed, Bruce was right there to fix it. I'm hoping we can come back again soon.

It's so nice when families can spend holidays together. We're happy to provide the Sisters House that can accommodate just about anyone. You are welcome back anytime - you may want to try the warmer months when you can enjoy the outdoor patio, hammock and fire pit! Thanks for posting a review - we really appreciate your kind words.

A beautiful fall day became the perfect evening and we were able to enjoy the fresh air gently blowing through our beautiful room The Garden Suite. It's actually a quite large bedroom with an adjoining bath area that includes a jacuzzi for 2, a large shower and a daybed for a guest, should one be staying with you. This suite also has a private covered porch with comfortable seating and stairs leading to the beautiful back gardens.
Jan, the owner and very special hostess, is always helpful with information about great things to do and places of interest to visit. She also makes the best, most creative breakfast you might imagine. A special treat at this visit was her wonderful poached pear with lavender syrup. Such a wonderful way to begin a day. The rest of the breakfast was also enjoyed but I had been envious of other guests who had posted pictures of the pears on social media.
Our room was, as always, clean and comfortable. The entire Inn feels very safe and reassuring because Jan and Bruce are very cognizant of all the COVID restrictions and are obviously complying for the safety of the guests as well as of themselves.
Bruce was exhibiting at one of the few shows being held this year so he was missed but we sat in the gallery among his creations - wise and humorous books and traditional as well as humorous colored pencil drawings.
We are always happy when we can visit this special Inn in the town of Terre Hill and we anticipate another visit from the moment we pack the car to go home.

We spent a very special weekend at the Artist’s Inn and Gallery and it was more than wonderful. The host, Jan and Bruce, were beyond kind, gracious, informative and so talented. The breakfast was not only delicious but was presented in a most elegant way. Your host pay extreme attention to detail. The bed linens were so comfortable I actually ordered from the same company for my own bedroom. There is even a little snack room beyond the homemade cookie jar at your disposal. It was a splendid, relaxing, happy weekend.

The rented the sisters house next door. It was a very nice, clean house with updated accommodations. The owner Jan is whom I dealt with and she was very courteous and accommodating. The house has 3 lovely rooms and 2 bathrooms, a dining area, fully stocked kitchen and living room and sunroom. It also has an outdoor patio with a grill. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, coffee maker, etc. The owner even went the extra mile and put sausage, eggs, milk, juice, coffee, bread, cereal, and even homemade cookies and cake. It was in a quit little town about 25 minutes from Lancaster outside has parking area for your vehicle and smoking area if you desire to smoke. If I had anything negative to say at all it would be that the bed we slept in was very uncomfortable, and that might just be personal preference.

Oh I am so sorry - we've never gotten a complaint about any bed in the Stella. Which room did you sleep in? Since there were only 4 in your group, I hope you switched to another room. We try to pick beds by the Goldilocks method - not too hard, not too soft.

My wife and I spent Valentine's Day weekend at the Artist's Inn and Gallery this last February. We loved the place. Bruce and Jan are great innkeepers. Bruce is a fantastic artist, writer and has a great sense of humor. Jan is an excellent cook and is fun to talk with as we learned about the special people that live near by.

We stayed in the Rose room. It was a very nice room with a comfortable bed. The bathroom had a single jetted tub along with a combined shower.

Jan's 4 course breakfast was to die for. It was delicious

We enjoyed our stay at the Artist Inn and Gallery so much that we brought our close friends this last weekend. We have known these other two couples for almost 40 years and we travel together to B &B's often. The inn has 3 bedrooms in the main house and 2 two-story units in an adjacent building, each with their own kitchen. We were the only guests in the main house. It was so much fun hanging out, playing games around the dining room table, and traveling around Lancaster.

This time my wife and I stayed in the Garden Room. It's a suite with a king size bed and a day bed in the second room. It also has a large jetted tub and a separate shower. It's a very comfy room.

Once again Jan and Bruce were so hospitable and the breakfast was delicious. this was our second time coming to the Artist Inn and Gallery and won't be our last.

So I needed to take a break from my church life and my work life. We decided a few nights in good ole Lancaster PA would do the trick. This place is further north of the tourist traps and this makes it perfect. We arrived early and our room was ready and Bruce showed us around and gave us a solid recommendation for our dinner that evening. We stayed in the garden suite and it was perfect the room was decorated in a garden theme with not detail missed. The next morning we went down for what we thought would be the standard B and B breakfast we were wrong. You see Jan has made it her life’s work to make people feel welcome and love her food. So be prepared for a daily breakfast experience using what ever her imagination comes up with. We planned to stay four nights but enjoyed it so much we had to stay another night. This place has everything you need to relax great porch spaces and far enough away from the tourist traps to really enjoy life in Amish country. The room was very clean and you can tell they take care to make sure everything is cleaned properly in the world of covid. I almost forgot to mention that they also turned down our beds and left small homemade chocolate on the bed when we got back each night from dinner. I would also recommend you take a look at Bruce artwork and take a picture home he has spent a lot of time on his art work and it shows. I cannot wait to go back for a long weekend again.

We spent New Year's Eve and day in Sophie's side of the Sisters' House. This beautifully renovated carriage house is part of the Artist's Inn property and has accommodations upstairs and down. It is very comfortable and spacious. A beautiful enclosed porch is great for enjoying the sunrise and sunset as well as for the great view down into the valley.
Innkeepers Jan and Bruce are easily within reach and always available to help in any way. We were invited to enjoy Jan's delicious creations from her fabulous Inn kitchen since it was a holiday and many of the people staying in or visiting the Inn for the day were longtime friends. Normally, the kitchen of each side of the Sister's House is stocked with an assortment of breakfast items that you can prepare for yourself.
Regardless of which part of the Inn you reserve, a visit to Bruce's gallery in the Inn is a must. His colored pencil drawings and books will put a smile on your face all day.

We booked the Stella suite/duplex of this wonderful B and B for three nights in October. Three longtime girlfriends from junior high traveling from California on vacation. We were so pleased with the accommodation which gave us three separate bedrooms and two bathrooms, plus a kitchen, living room and sun room. The kitchen came with homemade cookies and brownies, a loaf of bread and a refrigerator stocked with bacon, eggs, milk, orange juice, apple juice. There were two coffeemakers and a teapot available as well. The location is perfect in this small, quiet town where we could travel and visit and shop in the Lancaster area. It was a welcome retreat to return to after a busy day. Bruce and Jan are lovely hosts and Bruce's art, mostly whimsical is not to be missed.

Everything about this bed and breakfast is perfect. Both our room and bathroom were very spacious, well laid out, and had great bright lighting. There was plenty of storage and room to put out luggage. The color and hand painted designs on the walls were so warm and inviting. The king bed was very comfortable, and the linens in the bedroom and bath were top quality. Jan checked the room each day to make sure toiletries were restocked.

There is both an upstairs sitting area and a large social room downstairs. The porch and patio looked very inviting, but it was a bit too chilly in November for us to enjoy them. There are lovely gardens and a firepit.

The best part of all was Bruce and Jan (the owners) who were so helpful and friendly. We felt like part of their family. The breakfast was a 4 course gourmet delight every morning. You definitely won't need lunch after the very filling portions. Jan accommodates special needs diets if needed.

Artists Inn is centrally located in the Amish country, but it is away from the touristy commercial areas, but easy to get to those with a short drive. There is so much to do in the area, and driving through the countryside is a visual treat.

We will DEFINITELY be back to stay at the Artists Inn. One of the other couples staying when we were there was making their 15th visit. I think that speaks highly of how wonderful it is.

We spent the night with another couple in the house on this property. It was extremely clean, comfortable, and well equipped. We enjoyed the breakfast food that was left in the refrigerator for us, as well as the cookie jar filled with fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. I would highly recommend this house for families visiting the area

Thanks for posting. We're glad to offer our Sisters House with contact-free check-in and happy to accomodate humans of all ages! Those with bad hips or knees appreciate the bedroom and bath on the first floor. We've been owners of our bed and breakfast for 24 years, so we used that knowledge to help us determine what guests might need in the Sisters House. It's a great place to meet folks - one couple can sleep upstairs with their own bath and the other couple (or family) downstairs. Our central location worked well for your group too. Thanks for finding us!
