We stayed for two weeks seeing our new granddaughter. Everything went smoothly but in my hurry to catch an early morning flight home I lost my wedding ring. Not wanting to miss my flight I called the front desk. He said he would put housekeeping on the search for my missing ring. When we landed at our first stop there was a message waiting for me “My RING had been found!” It wasn’t 9:00 a.m. yet and housekeeping had already been found. In fact, they had already sent it by FedEx to my home. I can’t thank Kara Willett, Executive Housekeeper enough. I have been married 47 years and she made sure my gold band would still be on my finger when we celebrate our 50th anniversary in a few years. A big thank you to the entire staff for making our stay so special.
As a frequent traveler I have stayed at well over 100 Hilton properties. While not always consistent, this Hilton Garden Inn was excellent. The staff very well trained, helpful and friendly. The rooms are very clean. The best surprise was the food. The Italian restaurant and bar was outstanding (I'm in the food business, and not easy to please). the bartender Adam was a pro, knew the menu and made the right recommendations. Really the food was every bit as good - if not better - than most free-standing restaurants. I would actually go back there just to eat. Well done all around
I left a bag of clothes in my room - called the hotel and they were able to send to my home address without any hassle - very good service! The rooms were clean and the service overall was great. We will be back again.
Clean and convenient to Penn State campus, overall this is a decent hotel. Traveling on business, this hotel was not my choice, but adequate for my needs. The staff was polite and very helpful. I had a room in the back of the hotel where there is a large parking lot. Maybe I somehow missed it, but I didn't see any blackout curtains - just a set of sheers bracketed by heavier stationary draperies. Being on the first floor, that meant bright car headlights and walkers right outside my window. Since I travel with clothespins, I was able to stand on a chair and clip the stationary drapes together to block out the light and provide more privacy. The AC was loud and turned on and off frequently, but I carry earplugs and slept soundly. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean.…
The hotel itself is good, appeared clean enough and the staff was extremely nice and responsive. However, the room was significantly more expensive than other hotels in the area, especially for a Monday night in the off season. I paid the extra $50 for the room compared to other hotels in the area because this was one of only a scant few that have a hot tub. The Country Inn and Suites has one also but was going to be having a power outage the night I stayed here. Yes, I paid the 30% higher rate because I wanted the hot tub. However, when I called to book the room, I asked if breakfast was included and was told yes. Then I find out the next morning that it it not. Yes, it was a decent breakfast but the Country Inn and Suites down the road had an included breakfast buffet bar complete with everything you could want including waffles. Here at Hilton Garden, I had to sent my toast back due to every piece being burnt and then the next set they brought also had multiple burnt pieces. It certainly wasn't worth the $40 that it cost for me and a child. Coffee was $3. A juice was $4. No fan in the bathroom was odd. Some rust type stains in the bathtub. Blackout curtains let in a bit of light. But, overall decent. Beds and pillows comfortable. Pillows not too flat and not too high. Perfect in between. Nice touch to have a body pillow. Also, nice of them to quickly provide the extra blankets we asked for. Just took off one star for the significantly higher price, updating needed. Also, probably my fault for not asking in advance, but when I asked about the shuttle upon checkout, it wasn't like they had someone readily available to drive it. However, in these economic times when it's hard to find help and it's not the busy season, I was able to overlook that. I would stay again if the Country Inn and Suites was not available due to the hot tub and if price wasn't significantly higher.…
We ate dinner at Mercato Mio and it was delicious. We had the caparcio and lasagna (a little on the sweet side but still delicious). The lasagna was a HUGE portion. Jen, our server, was outstanding!! We will definitely be back.
Excellent service. Very friendly staff always eager to help. We stayed for commencement weekend. The place was packed and still they solved everything on time. Rooms are spacious and clean. Plenty of space to park. Just 7 mins away from downtown and PSU. Highly recommended.
We stayed here as I was attending a meeting at Penn State, and we were impressed by the staff and the facility. I needed to get to the University for a meeting, and they were great about arranging for the shuttle bus to take me. The front desk staff was friendly. The rooms were clean and comfortable. And we loved the restaurant (that review will be separate).
The staff was wonderful at the Hilton Garden Inn is State College. We stayed 2 days for the Blue and White game and the staff was very courteous and helpful. They made you like you are part of their family and you are at home.
We stayed here for a wrestling tournament at C3 Sports with friends and family. We were completely shocked by the fabulous Italian food made by Chef Steph Andy and Phil. It was absolutely outstanding!
