We have only ever stayed Downtown when visiting our PSU student, usually at the Hyatt, but for the White Out game we were unable to get anywhere close to Downtown. I read the reviews here and even noted it is only a little over a mile from the stadium and decided to give it a try. Honestly, we were so impressed! Beds are crazy comfortable. I never sleep well in a hotel and I slept amazing here. Great quality pillows and linen too. The room was quite large with a sitting area and they have thought of everything - microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, great toiletries. Bathroom vanity had lots of counter space and shower pressure was excellent! Breakfast was your typical hotel free breakfast but had plenty of options. We did end up walking home from the stadium after the game since finding an Uber would’ve been a nightmare. It was an easy 20-25 min brisk walk. One more thing, the staff here is so amazing and friendly! I think it was Michael who we saw at the front desk every day. I hope the poor man gets to go home sometimes! He always seemed to be there but had a smile on his face and friendly words every time we passed by. I will 100% stay here again when we visit our daughter.…
Clean, updated , large rooms, friendly and accommodating staff!!! We had a large group but that didn't bother the staff. We'll definitely come back again. Thanks for putting up with us all!! Also the flowers were beautiful.
My stay was fabulous from being welcomed graciously by those at the front desk to the cleanliness and spaciousness of the room. It also smells amazing throughout the common areas of the hotel. I would definitely return!
Great hotel with great staff, Sabrina did such a great job on our room, love this place. Great breakfast also. Champ sports bar is 1 mile down the road, great place for dinner. Secure location to park, set back off the highway so its quiet. Thanks Sabrina!
We stayed recently during a trip to PSU. This hotel is incredibly clean, the rooms spacious and immaculate. The indoor pool is small but perfect for a quick dip, and the free breakfast is really good. The staff (particularly Michael at the front desk) are so friendly and helpful and go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. And the 24/7 coffee in the lobby is such a treat - we got back late after a long day on campus and it was wonderful to be able to grab a coffee and relax in our room. We seriously did not want to leave :)
Toured Penn State with our son and picked this hotel based on reviews read on this site. I have to say the hotel delivered. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The shower was hot, the TV and wifi were great. The staff was awesome, especially April and Michael at the front desk. Do yourself a favor and stay here, you will be pleased.
Immaculate, smelled amazing, beautiful fall decorations...even the elevator was spotless. Wonderful, friendly staff...beds extremely comfy...plenty of towels and bathroom excellent. Bonus=room cleaned after 1 night. Exceptional.
Michael and the front desk staff are the absolute nicest. Gave us the cutest little PSU Glass filled with candy at check -in. From 5-9 they offer snacks/drinks in the lobby. The rooms are large and absolutely spotless. Will definitely stay again.
Stayed here for a football weekend, and was very happy. The staff at the front desk was fantastic - extremely friendly and professional. Our room was quite large and had 2 queen beds, a sofabed, and a bar area with a decent sized fridge and microwave. The room appeared to have been recently updated. We were on the top floor, and it was very quiet - no issues with noise from other rooms, even for a football weekend. The breakfast was not so great - cereal boxes, packaged pastries that weren't very good, waffle machine, etc. Coffee was decent though. I'm not a big hotel breakfast fan so no big deal to me, but keep your expectations reasonable. The hotel is one of the first on Atherton St. north of campus and would probably be less than a mile walk to the northern part of campus; Beaver Stadium would be about 2 miles, but we drove everywhere as we like to go downtown before the games. Overall, great stay and will definitely keep on the list of hotels in State College to use in the future!…
Early June '21, one night. Nice location, close to Penn State campus. Older building, but well maintained. Our room was very clean. We were offered an upgraded room due to their hosting a reunion over the weekend. The desk staff gave us the choice of 2 rooms and walked us thru both.
