Decided to take a couple days away during Thanksgiving since our families were skipping the traditional get together. Overall please with the Inn and Spa. The rooms were clean and the staff was excellent, especially dealing with these unique times during COVID.

It's been three years since we visited this place. Last week we spent five nights and had a great time. We prefer the rooms in the Spa section which are very large with fireplaces, jacuzzis, and decks. I only wish you could get directly into the spa without going outside in the bad weather. Anyway, we both had massages, my wife had some body stuff done, and we just hung out for a few days to get away from home. Breakfast was great as usual, and Gennie was helpful as always. We ddn't eat dinner in the restaurant, but instead visited some local ones. Johns Italian is pretty good, Overboards which is up near I-84 exit is terrific and very reasonably priced, and even enjoyed a couple of bars.. It's always nice to go back to place and find it just as good as before. Yes, its pricey, but this isn't your typical B&B. And its great there are no kids

My wife and I were searching for a place to stay for our anniversary. Bridget did a great job taking our reservations and making sure that our room had all the little details waiting to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Jude who checked us in and Eric our waiter both complimented our stay making it a perfect relaxing, enjoyable time. Each of the meals were fabulous and I would definitely recommend the French Manor to friends. My wife and I look forward to staying there again in the future. Doug

We stayed at the French Manor Inn for a wedding last weekend. I booked the room back in June for an October wedding. I booked the Geneva room, and received three email confirmations since June confirming my room. We got there Friday to check in, and were told we were upgraded (an upgrade we didn't ask for). They told us they put us in the main building along with other couples who were also attending the wedding. We received our room key and went into our "upgraded" room (from an unlocked hallway with direct access to our door, we were definitely concerned about security). Immediately upon opening the door, there was a sour, mildew smell (common in older homes, I know, but this is a hotel with great reviews, so who was expecting it). Our room was darkly lit, VERY outdated, furniture was old and not in great shape, rug was dirty, plank wood on the walls, NO central air (they told us they had just taken out the window unit, but we do prefer a colder room when we sleep) and a bathroom where they only updated the shower tile - aka, NOT the room I chose. I called that night after hours and was promptly accommodated, and told that I would be moved out of that room the very next day. Fine. I was so creeped out/skeeved out, I didn't sleep the whole night. The very next day, we had a subpar (but free) breakfast, and then were given the key to our new room. While this room did have drywall, more updated decor, and was better lit, this room has seen better days. Chipped paint everywhere, sloppy spackling job in the bathroom, wicker furniture that was coming apart, and a dirty and unkept hallway that lead to our room door. For a property boasting 4 stars, and claiming to be an elegant stay in the Poconos, this place was disappointing. Customer service, despite the condition of the place, was OK - they were quick to fix my issues, but I am currently still arguing with them regarding the price of my room, as they claimed there was "no" wedding rate available for this particular wedding (not true). In the end - we won't be back. Final thoughts - outdated, overpriced, and disorganized communication between staff. Definitely not the nice weekend away we had expected while attending a wedding. Lesson learned - I should've have skipped the Comfort Inn after all - sometimes more expensive doesn't mean better.

What a wonderful way to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. Our room was cozy, the hot tub was delicious and the fireplace kept us toasty. The bed & bedding were luxurious and such a treat. Our spa visit was over-the-top and we felt very safe with all the precautions. Our meals in the dining room were just amazing. Dinner was one of the best we’ve ever had with the most lovely thick cloth napkins ever. Our server Sarah was a delight and we enjoyed chatting with her. She was able to have our dessert wrapped to go & that was special. Every person we spoke with at The French Manor Inn was warm and inviting. This is a place we will come back to and the PERFECT location to celebrate any special event.
