    Beautiful Inn with gorgeous views
We husband and I came for a weekend for our anniversary in August. The stone buildings are absolutely stunning and I can only imagine how everything looks in the fall and winter. The views are breathtaking and you can enjoy them while eating on the terrace or sitting outside and relaxing. We spent a good amount of time just sitting outside talking and soaking in the view. We also enjoyed the hot tub and pool. Considering we were there on a weekend, the pool are was not very busy and often we were the only ones there. The atmosphere is quite lovely and while we didn't partake in any spa packages, other visitors seemed to be enjoying theirs. We will definitely go back, perhaps for a fall trip and get a room with a balcony.

Best way to celebrate our 40th
What a wonderful way to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. Our room was cozy, the hot tub was delicious and the fireplace kept us toasty. The bed & bedding were luxurious and such a treat. Our spa visit was over-the-top and we felt very safe with all the precautions. Our meals in the dining room were just amazing. Dinner was one of the best we’ve ever had with the most lovely thick cloth napkins ever. Our server Sarah was a delight and we enjoyed chatting with her. She was able to have our dessert wrapped to go & that was special. Every person we spoke with at The French Manor Inn was warm and inviting. This is a place we will come back to and the PERFECT location to celebrate any special event.

    Romantic weekend getaway!
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at the French Manor right before the holidays. The Inn is very romantic and cozy. We stayed in one of the spa suites and absolutely loved it. The fireplace, the jacuzzi tub for two and comfortable king size bed were a treat. The room was immaculate and we really appreciated the early check in as we had spa appointments in the early afternoon. The spa suites are very convenient to the spa and we had a great experience at the spa. We really enjoyed our couples massage and my boyfriend also had a hot stone massage and facial. The spa staff are excellent. Also loved the heated indoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna. We had a delicious spa lunch by the pool. Had dinner both nights at the restaurant which is excellent. We loved the cheese plate (especially the Boursin), the short rib ramen, the lobster bisque, the filet and lobster tail, the scallops and the incredible desserts. The service was top notch. The restaurant also has a nice wine list. The dining room is very romantic and cozy and we loved sitting by the warm fire with the holiday decorations. The breakfasts are wonderful and offer a number of good choices - loved the pancakes. The service across the board was excellent, attentive and welcoming. We had a very enjoyable and memorable visit to the French Manor!
Dear MSA315, Thank you very much for your lovely review! We are happy to hear you thoroughly enjoyed your romantic getaway and all the French Manor Inn and Spa has to offer. All the best to you both this New Year and we hope to welcome you back to Huckleberry Mountain again soon. Bridget Logan Weber - VP, Director of Sales and Marketing

This is our third visit to the French Manor to celebrate our anniversary. With each subsequent visit we have notice that the owners have made improvements both inside and with the surrounding grounds. The rooms are appointed with restrained elegance, that is the are nicely decorated without being overdone so make them ostentatious. They are also kept immaculately clean, which something one is most particular about. The views from where the French Manor is located is nothing short of breathtaking. In the morning the valley below is filled with fog until the rising sun causes it to gradually melt away. During the day the clouds cast ever changing gentle moving shadows on peaceful landscape below. Improvements of hotel grounds have also been noticed with each new visit. Additional flowerbeds have been added, and previous beds have also seen improvements, and the already well attended grounds have been spruced up even further. All of this makes for a wonderful restful out of the way place to relax and unwind from the surrounding distant hectic world. A few words about the service. It is nothing short of outstanding. They go out of their way to try to be accommodating to all requests. The waitstaff is polite and attentive without being overly so as to be bothersome. The meals are nothing short of spectacular. They are artfully prepared to be a feast for the eyes before they are enjoyed by the palate. The menus are seasonal with many items locally sourced. We have met others here that like ourselves book a favorite room year after year. It is little wonder that people do. A stunning peaceful location with immaculate well-appointed facilities. Attentive polite staff. Lastly artfully prepared excellent food. Once you make a reservation, don’t be surprised that you make another!

Great 3 day getaway with my husband at this lovely mountain retreat with romantic European charm. Stayed in the Marseille suite which was beautifully appointed and had everything we could want - fireplace, tub, private balcony with beautiful vistas. The staff members were very welcoming and took care of all our needs including great recommendations for day trips. Loved Tuesday Jazz and small plates on the outdoor terrace and enjoyed another wonderful meal in their exquisite dining room. Breakfasts were a treat! This is truly a hidden gem in the Poconos. Looking forward to coming back in the fall season as the colors are bursting around the French Manor.

Dear WayDeb2018, Thank you very much for the lovely review. We are happy you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back again in the Fall. Our landscaping crew have been hard at work creating a gorgeous outdoor courtyard - an extension to our spa. It will have an outdoor hot tub, outdoor fireplace, lovely relaxation areas with amazing views, and more. If all goes as planned, we will be opening up this area this Fall. Hope to see you again soon. Bridget Logan Weber

The grounds are beautiful. I would strongly suggest one check out the rooms in person before reserving. We stayed in Turret. This room is in the main manor home. The dining area is on the first floor and Turret is on the second. One can hear the kitchen staff through the vents in the room! The room also has a portable air condition unit on the second floor that is extremely loud and distruptive. There are also several odd large furnitures in the room that are not useful. The furniture are have nicks and the fridge in the room was dented. There was also very poor internet connection.

Dear E7910QRnickw, Thank you very much for taking the time to post your review. We are a family owned and maintained spa retreat in which we truly care about each detail in our individually decorated accommodations. The Turret Suite is a unique two-story accommodation in the historic Manor House offering lovely views from the bedroom locate upstairs in the Turret of our miniature castle. Many guests love this suite and request it by name. We are sorry you were not thoroughly pleased with the decor or the location. Also, for future reference, we just upgraded the Wi-Fi throughout our property and added a new AP unit to the Turret Suite giving it a very strong internet connection. We also offer 11 newer suites all with fireplaces, large tubs, newly renovated bathrooms with elegant walk-in tiled showers, and private balconies with 30+ mile views. Perhaps you might prefer one of those suites which are located in our La Maisonneuve Building or Spa Suites. We are continually upgrading and adding new amenities to our property. This fall we will be opening a gorgeous relaxation courtyard outside our spa with an outdoor fireplace, outdoor hot tub, relaxation areas and more. We hope you might consider visiting us again in the future to enjoy these new upgrades. Thank you again for your review and we hope to welcome you back to the French Manor Inn and Spa in the future. My wife and I stayed one night and treated ourselves to a day spa to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. It was our first visit and the room was clean and tidy and had a beautiful view of the scenic valley beyond. The spa was incredible which bumped the review up to the 4 stars. There isn't much around for 20-30 miles if you want to dine off site. The breakfast ends at 10 which is early considering we stayed to get away and relax and have a lazy day. Our visit was a one and done situation; we tried it and it was under-whelming.

Charming property that is poorly maintained. Lawn was overgrown. Dining patio was crumbling and littered with scraps of past meals. Inside, the ambiance was great until we arrived in our room and found a 30 year old A/C unit that has no auto setting and creates constant noise. Furnishings are a dingy afterthought. Our first dining experience was also our last. My sea bass was a previously frozen plank of perfectly rectangular dried out fish. The appetizer featured bargain brand tortilla chips and an undressed corn, bean and arugula dish. I don't mind spending $350 on meal for two if it's exceptional quality, but in this case Chipotle would have been a better choice. Our waiter was intimidating from the beginning. My husband attempted some light humor, to which the waiter abruptly launched into a political tirade. He stormed off in silence when we remarked that the escargot was prepared in an untraditional way. And when we came in tonight and asked how he was, we learned that he is "living the dream. " We paid a significant sum for this experience, and I'm sad to say that we wasted that money.

Dear Carolyn, Thank you for taking the time to post your review. We appreciate our guests' comments and feel that it is by receiving reviews that we may strive to improve upon our services. However, I do feel that your comments are a bit overexaggerated to the point that I must let our readers know. The furnishings in your room were handpicked by the owner. The bed, side tables, dresser and love seat were all purchased recently within the last 6 months. In our Manor Rooms, we try to pick furnishings and décor to match the style of architecture of the original Manor House. All of our rooms and suites are individually decorated, and we do provide photos of each of our rooms on our website and booking engine. This gives our guests to opportunity to choose the room that suits them best. We also thank you for your critique of your dining experience. Again, the price you paid was significantly less than what you mentioned in your review. And of that cost included a bar tab and a generous gratuity (just to let our readers know that $350 is not a typical cost for dinner for two). We are a family owned and managed spa retreat where we take pride in looking at all the details that create a perfect stay for our guests. We are sorry we let you down on this occasion. Please feel free to contact us directly if you have any other concerns. Sincerely, Bridget Logan Weber

Perfect stay! Beautiful space: we had the Venice room and it was cozy, comfortable, and nicely appointed (the cheese plate and robes were a perfect touch!). Also a gorgeous sunrise view in the morning. The staff were also incredibly gracious and accomodating: they made it easy to arrive late from NYC, and still set us up with everything we needed; in the morning, we had to rush out and asked for our breakfast to go--while we waited, they gave us juice, coffee, and coffee cake, then brought everything wrapped up so nicely. Really appreciated!

Bottom line up front… We highly recommend the French Manor to anyone looking for a serene retreat. We are going back for the murder mystery! My only complaint was that there was no snow. Let me start off by saying I am not a B&B person…..but this place has made me a team player!! This is truly a hidden gem. After many of years trying to get me onboard, my wife found a B&B to spend our 20th. I never figured a B&B could also be an all in one. As for customer service, it was like if Chic-fil-A had a B&B. The Manor team was awesome! The Food: The food was out of this world. My wife is a vegan and she couldn’t say enough about her dishes… and just when she thought it was over the chef made a special vegan dish for her. Breakfast was included and, delicious!!! The bartender held it down, he was on point. The Spa: The Spa was all special like… I’ve never done an all day spa deal but the Manor made it all worthwhile. I’m so glad I booked a couples spa, it was relaxing, regenerating and an all-out great experience. Between the sauna, facials, pedicures and massages the staff was more than accommodating, we even met another couple by the pool who was a friendly as the staff.
