Overall this site is great for family and friends gatherings, however the pricing just keeps going up and up. The rentals have sky rocketed by over $300 in the past two years. And now because of the pandemic they are offering less for your buck. Then linens, towels and pillows are not included even thogh the bans have been lifted. Will need to look elsewhere for better deals.

My family (parents and 2 toddlers) and I camp here almost every year and we were very excited to continue that tradition even with the pandemic going on. We have a self sufficient camper and was very pleased how they had plenty of room between campers and how they promoted social distancing. We always look forward to the bingo and other activities, which usually are in the big hall. However, this year they adjusted it very nicely to continue these activities but at your own campsite. They had campers come get supplies (odd sites at one time and even sites at another) then they had the instructions or bingo play on their own channel for everyone to enjoy. We did have a little frustration with the new TV system they had but Rich (employee) came over to assist us in figuring out what was going on and when he was stumped, Tom (manager) came to help and we figured out it was a simple switch! Oh technology!

Even with the the activities limited, my two toddlers were constantly busy. Between fishing, looking for frogs/salamanders at the frog pond, playing mini golf (they had the supplies that you can buy and keep for future use), playing in the fields, or going for nature walks; they were never bored!

Overall, the customer service was absolutely exceptional! When you come they automatically treat you like family. I am 34 weeks pregnant on top of everything else and they would go out of their way to help make me comfortable by bringing me the bingo cards instead of me having to walk to them or just riding by and saying hi. A lot of campgrounds have the same activities but it is the way you are treated that makes us continue to come back to Appalachian RV Campground. Thank you staff for your continued incredible service and dedication.

After visiting for several weekends, we decided to become seasonal campers 2 years ago. We are so happy we did! The camground staff goes out of their way to make the camping season so much fun for kids & adults alike. There are so many fun things to do each season; crafts, bingo, hayrides, live music, magicians, scavenger hunts, mini golf, horseshoe tournaments. You name, they do it & they do it well! They have a great pool, a fishing pond, an icream window and the Campfire Cafe. Even during Cobid-19, the staff came up with ingenious ways to have events for the campers. Our favorite season is fall & the Halloween weekends. So much fun!! If you're looking for a clean, fun & friendly campground Appalachian is the place!

Let me start by saying that I’ve tried to keep this review as honest as I can so that others, like us, can get an informed opinion about this campground.

We just bought our first travel trailer this year. However, I had one as a child and traveled extensively as well as coming to this campground as a child on numerous occasions.

Check in was relatively painless. They meet you at a window, hand you a map and that’s about it. Our initial site was 307 which to our surprise was a”buddy” site. That essentially means that your business side faces another campers business side. If you’re traveling with another group, that’s awesome, but not for anyone desiring a bit of privacy. I did inquire if another person would be filling the facing site and was told that it would be filled. This leads me to believe that this is a pretty common practice. Fortunately they had another site available and we switched. In fact the whole 300-320 area is essentially a large treeless gravel parking lot on the side of a small hill.

We had a site in Tree Line. The sites are very small and don’t expect much room between your slide and your neighbors awning. Even though it wasn’t completely full, it had a very congested feeling to it. I wish I could say you had a modicum of privacy, but you don’t.

Expect to hear the I78 traffic if you stay near the pond. The trucks Jake Braking gets a bit annoying at times.

The pool is very nice and they do a great job regulating the one hour only during the pandemic. The employee working there was very nice.

We had ice cream at the window and it was very nice.

The seasonal sites are nicely cared for and the people seemed very friendly.

In the end, I have to say that one of the main issues was the cutting through of sites by kids and even adults. I understand that the site may be open but that doesn’t mean you get to use it like your own personal on and off ramp. Also, the cursing and foul language of several of our neighbors was disheartening. Please understand we were just here one weekend and can only judge on our personal experience.

In the end I would not choose to return to this campground. I feel that for $130 for a 2 night weekend you can do so much better.

A well maintained campground that sits a bit too close to a major highway making sleeping difficult. Otherwise, the Sites are tree covered and spacious and the pond area is beautiful. Due to covid we did not use facilities but they looked very nice from the outside.

not as depicted on good sam ratings . mostly long term campers and small tight sites. do to covid 19 requirements the pool, laundry and bath house were closed. the cute cafe probably is a wonderful place to grab a snack or quick meal but with covid 19, the inside seating and the outside picnic areas were closed.

We stayed over the 4th of July weekend so the campground was full. Since we're 45' and tow a Ram 1500, they put us in the pull-through sites which are buddy sites and very close together. Upon driving in, our antennas hit some overhead power lines getting to our site. Our site was plenty long for both the MH and truck, but was not level. The fire rings (one on each end because of the buddy site arrangement) were very close to our rig and toad. There is a nice pool, fishing pond, a big grassy area, and mini golf. Because of the arrangement of the pull-throughs being buddy sites, and the low hanging power lines, we probably would not stay here again.

The campground was nice with lots to due for kids and activities planned. The "field" was extremely unlevel. They get you coming and going with the fees for everything, golf cart, fishing, early check in, someone coming for 2 hours for dinner, So bring extra cash your gonna need it,

I would like to start by saying it is our home away from home. We bought a travel trailer in the park a year and a half ago. I appreciate that the staff made our journey to be apart of the Appalachian family safe and easy. I love being a seasonals I am addicted to Appalachian RV because we love the staff they go above and beyond to make our stay there pleasant. The other family's we have met here are wonderful and because there is so much to do that brings families together we have become one big family who look out for each other it is so special. The staff take what they are given and make it shine . The office staff are friendly and helpful. The entertainment is so great there is crafts (for all ages) , there is bands, scavenger hunts, fishing contests, cook offs, corn hole tournaments, car showed, tricky trays to raise money for cancer and and so much more. That is always something to keep you and your family busy. The pool is always clean and heated. The Campfire Cafe is run by a wonderful family who always had tasty specials and a great ice cream polar too. The manager of Appalachian trail is always hands on and is always doing his best to keep everyone happy it's not always easy because everyone is different and has different needs but he gives his all and make it work. Appalachian Rv staff give there all to make our stay there wonderful and fun. It is up to us to appreciate all they do and be apart of a happy place, part of an extended family, and a beautiful experience. I proud to be apart of the Appalachian family and friends. I love that it brings my family closer and gives my grandkids a place to be kids and enjoy the outdoors and nature. I am so looking forward to 2022 .

We had to make 5 small reservations for a simple 14 day stay for a pull-trough site to accommodate our 40" travel trailer with 5 slides. 7 days into our stay they asked us to move to make way for a small camper van that could have parked anywhere and also asked me to move again 2 days before our scheduled departure, even though the area designated for Thousand Trails guests was never at full capacity . They have nice great events on the weekends, a camp store and a restaurant that is open on the weekends after Labor Day but they need to learn how to use their reservation system correctly. It felt like they cater to their annual and seasonal guests and consider their Thousand Trails guests as a inconvenience.

I see many asking about the seasonal sites at Appalachian. Do not seasonal at Appalachian campground, you will regret it. Management is lousy and unapproachable. Much of the staff is unfriendly and care less about helping campers. Management performs vindictive, abusive behavior toward campers, and staff that resides on premises will vandalize seasonal campsites at night when no one is around if they don't like you. Many campers have cameras or motion lights because of this. I used to work there, so I know first hand about the after hour destruction. Don't expect the manager to help because he most likely gave the order to harass and vandalize in order to retaliate against complaints that are reported to corporate. He takes it personal. I left employment and my seasonal site at Appalachian in 2016, after a seasonal camper was attacked by an unleashed dog and reported the incident to the manager who in turn did nothing, so the camper called corporate to report the incident and his hospitalization. Within the same week the manager shamefully recruited certain staff to vandalize their shed and their campsite lights were repeatedly cut, this went on for months and their complaints fell on deaf ears, they finally left after much abuse, and four (4) other camping families followed them after finding out that staff was behind the vandalism. Stay away from there, this activity is still going on. Once targeted the manager will harass and work against you until you leave. There are plenty other campgrounds in the area. Good Luck!

Yes we heard noise from the highway, it is a busy highway and it is fairly close to the campground. The showers were nice, each was a separate room with shower, sink and toilet. They were clean every time I used them.
