So my other half and I have been together 16 years. Have seen and done a lot in that time. We have traveled I n the states, Europe and the Caribbean. However, up till this past weekend we never stayed at a B&B. Leslie was great! Very accommodating. We, unfortunately didn’t get to spend a whole lot of time there. My other half decided, last minute as usual, that he wanted to take our new Jeep to AOAA off-roading. So. I was put in charge of accommodations for the night before our off-road adventure. Remember last minute. Haha. AOAA lists nearby places to stay and I decided on Trails End. I reached out via their website and Leslie got back to me, had availability and the rest, as they say, was history. As other reviews note they are updating the bed and breakfast, but don’t let that discourage you. The place is just lovely and Leslie was so nice. I basically gave them no advance notice of our desire to stay and you never would have known. We did not have the pleasure of meeting Leslie’s husband. We arrived very late Thursday night and left pretty early Friday morning. Leslie was fine with it all and met our demanding, short notice, schedule. The house is very clean and smelled good. The bathroom is super sweet. The one we used doesn’t look like the pics in the reviews and I stupidly didn’t take any photos. None! Not like me at all... (Again, read, last minute idea by my other half) The bathroom we used was decorated with dragonflies. Which I personally have a HUGE soft spot for! The room we stayed in was also very nice. Leslie went above and beyond to ensure we were going to be comfortable during our stay. Friday morning’s breakfast was perfect. Eggs, fried potatoes, bacon, english muffins (other half’s personal breakfast favorite item. Leslie received bonus points on that one and she doesn’t even know it. He’s still talking about how yummy they were and it’s Saturday!), fruit, yogurt, oj and coffee. Excellent spread to keep us fueled for our off-roading adventures for the day. Leslie had everything prepared in time for us to get to AOAA at the designated time too. We had enough that when we stopped for lunch neither of us were even hungry yet. Only recommendation both me and my other half had. Maybe also give the option for some flatter pillows. Maybe this just isn’t something that is a viable option? I don’t know. He kept moving the pillow and just lying flat. I also tried that but then it was too flat. When we travel this is typically our biggest issue. Truth be told I almost always pack my own pillow. Other half prefers to gamble. However, this time we were packing super light so I didn’t pack mine. The bed was super comfortable. I wouldn’t change anything else. If we decide to return to AOAA I would for sure see if Leslie would be able to accommodate us again. Thanks for a great first experience!

Nice clean room in big old house which is being restored , friendly innkeepers, huge yummy breakfast prepared at the time you choose. Close to the off road park. Win/win. A great value too, less than 100 bucks I think.

Returned to the Coal Region for a class reunion in September. It's always a challenge finding accommodations in the area. We were a party of 4. Trails End was a welcome surprise! Owners, Ken and Leslie are the perfect hosts. Our friends, my husband, and I enjoyed 2 clean, air conditioned bedrooms. Each bedroom had comfortable beds, spacious closets and fluffy robes. We shared a remodeled bathroom with plenty of hot water. The kitchen on our half of the house was adorable, with access to coffee maker, mini fridge, and sink. But our favorite spot was the huge front porch! Trails End is right across the street from the old Arch Street Stadium site. It's a very convenient location- walked up to OLOL and took a trip down memory lane. Ken and Leslie are lovingly restoring this home themselves. In addition to their carpentry skills they are quite talented in the kitchen. Breakfast was a feast both mornings. ( Thank you Ken for the scrapple.) Highly Reccomend.

My son and I happened onto this place on a recent Jeep Jamboree trip to the Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area nearby. What a great find! It was convenient, comfortable and very well appointed for a weekend getaway. The owners were very pleasant and accommodating. We'll be back again!

My 10 year old daughter & I stayed here after a long day of riding at AOAA. It was wonderful!! Very clean, quiet & relaxing, we had a great nights sleep. We had the house to ourselves and enjoyed a hot shower with all the amenities needed. We slept on a comfy bed and awoke to a wonderful breakfast, eggs, pancakes, bacon, potatoes, oj, and hot coffee. Was just what we needed to prepare for our 2nd day of riding at AOAA. Would recommend!!
