We enjoyed the campground for the most part. The cabin was nice but the fridge quit working on us while we were there. We had to toss all our food out the campground didn't even offer us any kind of a credit or refund of any kind all we got was oh I'll have that checked out.
Stayed over the 4th of July. Great location, quiet campground. Silver Canoe has wifi, heated pool, camp store and cafe (with the best milkshakes). They also have books for sale or trade, and DVDs for rent for the rainy days. We stayed in a cabin which had bed, table/chairs, TV/DVD, microwave, mini-fridge and A/C. The cabin was the perfect size for the two of us, with plenty of space to move around. There are bunk beds which could accomodate two more people, but weren't used by us. The bath house & restrooms were clean. The campground staff is friendly and helpful, and the grounds are neatly mowed. A very nice place to stay!
This is our 2nd year with a 38-foot travel trailer and the 2nd stay at Silver Canoe. A very cute, privately-owned, dog-friendly campground close to Keystone Power Dam. Open year round due to the little convenience store, where the camping office is run out of. Most of the sites seem to be seasonal, and there’s an area in an open field across the lake for some seasonal/permanents or maybe even some of the drillers that come through for work. There’s an aging playground and basketball court near the bath house that still has some fun left in it. We generally don’t have a need for the bath house, but it is clean and very spacious. (We we’re fortunate we could use the full hookups since the weather cooperated, considering it was April in SW PA). The little lake has catch-and-release, a cute floating gazebo, and some homemade boats (not sure if I’d rent those). The tent area is in a little valley by the stream and private from the RV’s. When we used to tent camp this was majorly important. Nobody wants to put up a tent next to a house on wheels. This year the game room was moved up toward the store and pool, so we didn’t use it as much as last year. But last year it was in a very crooked garage (billiards on stilts, anyone?). The people were very nice. We are keeping this on our local list for quick weekends for sure. …
My 2 week solo trip at Silver Canoe Campground was AMAZING !!! The owners go out of their way to make you feel like family... The planned activities were great! ( Canoe/kayak races, pool party, cosmic bingo!!!) I made some great friends while there... Thanks Pam!
We traveled from northern virginia for our sons baseball tournament. We stayed here in our 43 ft fifth wheel. The owners were helpful and welcoming. The campground was beautiful and peaceful. We arrived on a Thursday and checked out on Tuesday. If ever in this area we will definitely camp here again.
