I got to meet the new owners of the Jackson House today. I’m am a previous owner of the Jackson House. These guys are great and show the energy that me and my wife had to build it into a great getaway location. If any of our previous guest read this please go back and visit. Amanda and Damon are very nice people and want there guest to enjoy there stay. Wishing them the best of luck on owning and running a fabulous historic home and getaway. Best of luck Jean and George Becker
Jackson House was great. Having been built over 150 years ago it was like walking into a history book. Stone dining area, fabulous old wooden flooring, and cozy rooms help contribute to a Dickens' type Christmas (especially when teamed with the Glen Rock Carolers). Not a Marriot, a Hyatt, or Hampton Hall, but just a wonderful home to spend some relaxed uncommercialized evenings AND enjoy a fabulous breakfast. . Our hostess/owner was ready to assist in our visit however possible. Very friendly and professional. Will definitely stay again.
Really enjoyed staying in this B&B. Breakfast (included in room price) was excellent. The host/owner was friendly, with information about things to do, where to go, etc if you required it. We came in after hours, but all was handled easily, and when he heard we had a long road trip ahead of us, insisted we take several really yummy homemade cookies along for the drive. Our room was very nicely decorated, with books and a couple of DVD's along with the TV. We'd definitely choose it above the local corporate chain motels should we visit this area of Southern Pennsylvania again. If you are planning a visit to Baltimore, it was an easy 40 minute drive to downtown, and a much more relaxed atmosphere.
When we arrived inside the door, we were greeted with the Innkeepers who just brought fresh baked delicious cookies out of the oven. We were given our key and directions to our room. Beautiful place. Great people who made us feel so comfortable. We had a letter on the dresser with greetings and information. We went downstairs and chatted a bit. We were given some suggestions and recommendations on dinner. We had a nice stay. Place was clean, authentic, and the bed was like a cloud. The breakfast was very good. Innkeepers friendly. We definitely want to come back.
We had a kid free weekend and the Jackson House was recommended by a co worker to us. This Bed and Breakfast is such a beautiful and historic house. The breakfast we had two mornings was unbelievable and the fresh fruit is from the local markets. We stayed in the cottage house which has your very own hot tub to enjoy. If you get cold you have a nice fire place in your room. Amanda and Damon were super nice and you can tell they really enjoy meeting new people. They even did me a favor when I called a few days early to surprise my wife with chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of wine in the cottage. We will be back again to enjoy this great Bed and Breakfast. Thanks again
