This is a very nice hotel. The check in staff were very friendly and helpful. I was in the city for a concert and this hotel was a decent distance from the arena. Other reviews mention a shuttle offered to and from the area - please be aware that this is NOT correct. There is no shuttle. You will have to Uber or walk. We weren’t familiar with the area at all, so we took an Uber. Walking seemed like quite a distance if unfamiliar with the area and not sure of safety and surroundings at night.
The room was very nice. I had a 2 bedroom unit, and it was very spacious and clean. The conditioner bottle was completely empty in both bathrooms in this hotel unit, but thankfully I had a small sample size bottle in my carry on bag. Other than that, there were no issues with amenities. One complaint would be the room above us was very, very loud. Yelling, running, basically screaming. The walls must be very thin. I will say that we couldn’t hear them after the concert, and we were told by another guest that people had been asked to leave for excessive partying, so maybe it was them? It was St. Patrick’s Day weekend, so anything is possible. Speaking of that, we were able to watch the parade from our room, which was an added perk.

We were in Pittsburgh for the Taylor Swift concert and this hotel hit it out of the park for us! Super handout with directions to Acrisure Arena, menus for ordering food in the lobby, an awesome Taylor cardboard cut-out for my kids to pose with, Taylor music playing with our free breakfast — we loved it!! The employees were always friendly, always greeted us, always happy to answer questions! I travel a lot and the service here was top notch! Thank you for a fantastic time! My kids said instead of 2 nights, we should have stayed 5!!

As one who has traveled over the years, when seeking a hotel, I look for one that offers some amenities such as breakfast, parking (with or without a fee), and a gym, and as importantly, one that is in a great location to be able to walk or take public transportation. Not only was my room with a kitchenette type set up terrific, quiet and my bed was very comfortable, this property checked all of the boxes as to what I look for when researching hotels. This hotel was walkable to downtown and in and around the Strip District as well as walking over a few bridges too! And, aside from being such a wonderful stay, the staff were amazing too, all were extremely friendly and helpful! If you are looking for a hotel in this part of Pittsburgh, and easy enough to drive to other areas, I highly recommend staying here!

The room's furnishing was not as dated as it appeared on the website's photos; I was pleasantly surprised. However, one big demerit was a very dirty & smudgy TV screen - it looked like someone had wiped it with a dirty rag; honestly it was pretty gross. Did not notice any cleanliness issues elsewhere. All the cleaned dishes stay in the dishwasher - did not notice at first that there was actually a permanent sign telling you that the dishes in the dishwasher are clean. Did not like the partition glass in place of an actual shower door - the glass panel comes out to barely half the length of the shower space, so it's quite easy to make a big mess, or flood the floor, or worse, slip on the wet floor! Hope this awful trendy idea of a glass panel goes away soon; it is very impractical and not stylish at all : ( If you return to the hotel later at night, the side entrance is inaccessible, but you wouldn't know why as there is no signage or call button. Luckily, we managed to enter through the garage and found a door to get back into the building (the floor below lobby). Subsequently was told by the front desk that we should have used the main entrance (on Smallman St) and not the side entrance, which was NOT obvious at all since it looked like the main door.

I choose extended stay hotels with a kitchenette for a reason. I have severe food allergies and can't eat out. Well this kitchenette was not set up for anyone who legitimately needs to make their own meals. The kitchen cooking paraphernalia consisted of one spatula, one spoon, one knife and a glass cutting board. There were no bowls, measuring cups, measuring spoons, colander or strainer, salt and pepper. The basic items needed to make the simplest of meals like, for example, spaghetti. I moved to a Residence Inn later in the week and let me tell you the kitchen was so well appointed I wish I had taken pictures for comparison. I stay away from AirbNB's for a variety of reasons like their pricing++, and lack of customer service. If hotels who offer kitchenettes want to compete with them, please step it up. There are people who need you to be better.

We stayed at hotel from Tuesday before Thanksgiving through Saturday after holiday. Location is very good for getting to many neighborhoods, museums and restaurants. My deduction in rating was for housekeeping. I understand it was a holiday week with probably less staff on hand, but when we first arrived I felt room was not as pristine as I would have liked (I admit I'm a bit more picky than most). I had to unload dishwasher and do a bit of cleaning of floor cleaning in kitchen. Possibly due to staff shortages and/or post covid there were no extra tissues, toilet paper, scott towels or dishwasher liquid to be found. During our 4 night stay (Thursday was holiday) there was no housekeeping. Breakfast was ample, but during peak time of 9 or 9:30 at one point folks were waiting for utensils, plates and some food items to be refilled.
Half glass shower door allowed quite a bit of water to leak onto floor so towels needed to soak excess. Just a bad design and execution.
Location is close to strip district and many attractions.

I stay here every couple months for business. Rooms are clean and staff is helpful. Would be better if they kept dishwasher detergent in rooms instead of behind the desk. Why don’t you have a happy hour like other Homewood suites with food and cocktails included? Parking is a little expensive especially if you have to enter the top ramp and squeeze through that garage door. I was especially pleased with my stay in the room with a peloton bike! I wish more hotels did this. Will be back!

Homewood is convenient to convention center, downtown, strip area and the three major league sports parks. Staff is friendly and remember your name. Breakfast has lots of options and even better it’s free.

Suite layouts work well and you have a full size refrigerator in the room and a microwave to warm up leftovers. Strip area has a few places that are great to pick up items to snack on during your stay.

Rooms are large with a desk to work and be able to watch your favorite show or team.

Pick up some ice cream and the room has spoons and bowls to enjoy the ice cream.

Kaya down the street is a good option for carryout.

Second visit and it was as good as the first time. To start, the location is amazing…right at the end (or beginning) of The Strip District. That is a must do….so much going on and plenty of fun to be had. And, the hotel is close to downtown as well as Pitt.

Courteous staff, large rooms, adjacent parking and complimentary breakfast is a win. Admittedly, the breakfast is mediocre but likely you can find something that works….oatmeal, cereal, toast, preformed eggs, baked goods, etc.

Highly recommend as the facility is great, location superb and it is an excellent experience.

I will start by saying that the staff at this hotel were wonderful and the location is great for walking either downtown or to the Strip District. If only based on Customer Service, I would give this hotel 5. Also, we found the parking to be very easy to find and convenient.

The hotel fell short for us on the accommodations. We were staying in a 2 room Queen Suite and from the moment we walked in the room, we noticed a few less than desirable things. The carpets throughout the room were stained with something red, the windows were very dirty, the shower curtain bottom was stained and there were old hairs in the bathtub, our bathroom faucet was lose, and the tub didn't drain while you were showering and would fill up at the bottom. We also came into the room with only 1/4 roll of toilet paper on the roll (and there were 2 roll holders with only one with a roll on it). There was no extra toilet paper in the room, no dish soap (usually hotels with a kitchen have that), the shampoo and conditioner were 2 different brands (which we found strange), and the TV would tell you it was on a channel that it wasn't (i.e. If we went to ESPN, it was actually Disney - All of the channels were not matched with the Guide). The only issue we reported was the toilet paper, because the other things, we know are a thing of traveling these days.

During our stay we had something out of the hotel's control happen and the power went out from 7AM Sunday until 6AM the following day. We ended up transferring to another hotel because it was very warm and we couldn't see. Adam and the staff there were very helpful and made sure we were safely moved to another hotel. Again, the staff was lovely and this was Pittsburgh issue, not the hotel's fault.

My best feedback for this scenario, if it ever happens again, which I hope it doesn't for their sake, is to keep the guests informed. For updates, I had to keep reaching out and we were out "adulting" for the day and would have loved to have known our options prior to "adulting" too much. I do think the hotel did their best with a bad scenario.

All in all, for the location and Customer Service, I would stay here again, but the accommodations need some updating.

Answer from J C

There is parking garage. $20 a day. But there’s also a lot next-door which is $10 a day. The parking garage is kind of small so it does get for sometime
Answer from glrintreasurelake

The hotel has a parking area below the hotel which is of course covered for $20 per night but parking is limited. Once the underground area is full, the hotel has a contract with the vendor across the street on the same side of the street of the hotel also for $20 per night. Parking is outside but semi covered in that I-579 is over the top of the corner of the lot closest to the hotel. Pittsburgh for the most part is safe. I do not believe anyone would mess with the cars in the particular lot huddled near the hotel. The hotel no longer offer valet parking but the walk from either lot is easy and flat.

We stayed here back in July. They were very helpful with regard to parking. We parked on site. As I recall, it was added to our rate. I remember that I checked local rates and it was comparable and it was inside instead of out in the elements. Very easy to access. I don’t think there is a valet. Hope this helps.
