Employees smoking in front of hotel, including valet that drove my car. No staff present for breakfast buffet and overpriced for the offerings. Beds seemed aged. Walking distance to a few restaurants. Felt fairly safe during the day but not sure about night.
Our check in experience was flawless. No issues here. The lobby is nice. There is valet onsite parking but since we were only staying a night, I parked on the street for free. Just check the signs. I had a standard room which felt very basic. It was not warm or welcoming but felt cold. There were hairs on the sheet which was rather bothersome. I would describe the room as functional but not necessarily comfortable. The location is good with lots within in walking distance. This is a good place if you just need a place to crash for the evening.
Friendly helpful staff. Very relaxing stay but facilities were pretty much basic with no breakfast or proper catering facility. Very limited snacks available. The hotel itself was clean with all usual facilities such as Iron, coffee machine, TV etc.
This hotel has comfortable smartly decorated rooms and a friendly helpful staff. The bar has great sandwiches and small bites and a bartender who is pleasant to talk to. There are multiple fun restaurants and night spots in walking distance. Note that all parking is either valet or street. Cons: the weekend breakfast buffet is extremely overpriced and not very good. Go somewhere else or stick to the site Starbucks. For IHG "recognition" the front desk was baffled as to what that meant but it's usually nothing to get excited about in any case.
My daughter was a new freshman moving in to point park. The hotel lobby was awesome, all staff were Friendly especially the valet guys. We stayed one night. The room was clean and shower was impressive. We did the breakfast and it was pretty decent. Would definitely stay again when we go back and visit my daughter. Heidi Huntley
First of all everybody was very friendly and helpful, from check in to check out, room was very clean, the only issue was not enough conditioner or shampoo, one bottle was only half full, had to request more. Our main issue was the breakfast buffet that costs $13, this breakfast was very poor, food was more or less cold, food selections were running low, toaster was not working correctly, coffee was luke warm at best, had to walk up and request refills, and all was luke warm at best. We have stayed at many hotels in Pittsburgh over the last twelve years, and most include breakfast as part of the deal. This motel seems like it is trying to make money off something that should be included in the price. We talked to a few employees and we were more or less told to not to have breakfast at the hotel, but we gave it a chance, and they were right, we should have gone elsewhere, hopefully some changes will be made to this breakfast.…
First. The staff are working hard. I think most were there 10-12 hours each day. I’m sure part of the issue is burn out. Regardless. This place is very gross. The lighting in the room is minimal so it hides how gross and dirty it is. We stayed for 3 nights , so by the end it was obvious. First: if you decide to stay- what ever you do, don’t actually pull back the covers and look at the comforter. I did on the third night, there was some obvious blood, and a section that has a lot of grimy body grease. Second. They do not clean the room unless you are there more than 3 nights. There is no fan in the bathroom. So of course there is a major mold problem in the shower and the sink. I forgot to get pics of the shower. Third. The floors are a good color to hide dirt. However, filthy. I used several wet wash clothes and wipes the floors , they were black. Requested they come clean the floors which they did and it looked clean, but still very dirty, it’s ground in dirt from lack of cleaning. Got a ton of Clorox wipes and cleaned the floors. Then wiped with several wash clothes. I can’t believe how much dirt. And only cleaned a small section. The effort was because we were tracking with a toddler so baby and toys on the floor. Fourth. Toddler peed on the bed right after the shower !! .I felt terrible, never happened before. We removed the blanket and comforter, nothing else was hit. Asked front dest for clean options of these. Informed they don’t do this for less than three nights. Someone came to the room, and took off the remaining sheets and pillowcases. Leaving behind the mattress and pillowcase covers, which truly demonstrated the filth of the place. All looked as if they had never been washed. Very grimy with that yellow body grease, and I’m not even sure what was on the mattress cover? Blood or coffee or diarrhea. I asked the front desk to please replace , but they never did. So bed was not only disgusting but unusable with no linens. So if you have to stay, keep it to one night, keep the lighting low, only sleep under the bottom sheet , and don’t look at the comforter.…
The location was good, this was the only redeeming feature for this hotel. Wife and I were visiting son who lives about a mile away from this hotel. Convenient. However, Way too expensive for the cleanliness and amenities. The room was large but furniture was designed for a much smaller room. Only one soft chair, no table, no microwave, tiny refrigerator, Keurig in room with cheap- bad tasting pods, thermostat hard to use. The shower head fell off the wall, (it was “fixed” the next day, but inadequately -- I could have done as well with no tools). No free breakfast, no good coffee, no cleaning service unless specifically requested. There was an ice bucket in the room, but no ice machine available except in the first floor kitchen—very strange. Hotel was cheap with towels. Worst part: the bed had a sharp metal protrusion that was just at ankle height. Wife hit it twice before we switched sides – no blood, just a bruise. Plus side: we were on the sixth floor and the view was good. Great morning sun, but the blind should have been a room darkening blind. When the sun rose, we were required to rise also. Room lighting: One ceiling fixture on each side of king sized bed. But there was only one switch and the bulbs were not bright enough. Also, the switch could not be reached from the bed. After the sun went down the lighting in the room was insufficient. Also, the switches were weirdly placed. Due to COVID stuff we tend to eat in the room. My son joined us. Only two chairs in the room and no tables. The room was big enough for more furniture, but management declined to fill that gap. As with all hotels, the garbage cans were too small to dispose of food wrappers and take-out containers. Staff was friendly and efficient.…
These reviews had me all worried about the parking situation. There's a garage right next to the lot, it cost us I think $15 for like 12 hours. Yes, the desk clerk wasn't super friendly but the place was clean. It's convenient, if we're downtown we'll stay here again.
Con: Skip this hotel. Photos looked great. Mold in bathroom, broken tile, bad stiff mattress on one bed, no rug on floor, location in transition . It has potential. Pro: friendly staff, lobby smells great
