Spent one night at this gorgeous hotel with my husband for my birthday. Service, service, service!!! That is the word to explain this place from checking in, to the restaurant, to the valet, to the hotel cleaning staff. The service was impeccable! The restaurant attached the The Commoner was delicious. Make a reservation or you will not get in. We enjoyed our stay so much, we are thinking of returning in a few weeks for my husband's birthday.
My husband and I stayed here whilst celebrating our honeymoon and enjoyed watching the Steelers and Pens games. We have stayed here before and wouldn’t stay elsewhere, the hotel is located central in downtown Pittsburgh walking distance to local restaurants and attractions. After a 8 hour flight from England. We were greeted by the smiley receptionists who checked us in swiftly, we then went to our room and found a bottle of Prosecco in the room with a hand written note which was very thoughtful and made our stay even more special. This hotel is perfect, the room was clean and spacious, and the most comfortable bed we have ever slept on. It has everything you could ever need such as a large tv, comfortable pillows, black out curtains, usb sockets, a safe, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, cotton buds, robes, iron and ironing board and even an umbrella on those rainy days! They even have bicycles that you can rent for free. The staff were so friendly and attentive, nothing was too much trouble. The room was serviced everyday by the housekeepers who ensured we we had given clean towels and the bed was made, thank you! Every time we went back to the hotel after a day out exploring the city we were always greeted with a smile, the staff are a real credit to the hotel. If you’re thinking of travelling to Pittsburgh, this is the hotel to stay! Thanks again for making our stay amazing, hopefully we will be there next year :)…
Our visit was made in partnership with Kimpton. Our family of four, including 9 month old twin boys had the time of lives. What allowed such enjoyment, was the family friendly atmosphere along with the family amenities. Our family was comforted and entertained with the 4moms items available to guests. The playards provided us the safest place to play with our toys. The Momaroo swing gave the boys a place to relax, and the infant tub enabled the boys to safely take their baths. Additionally, the morning coffee hours were enjoyed by mom + dad. It even gave the twins a change of atmosphere, which really intrigued them. We checked into the Kimpton for a couples weekend and to celebrate my husband’s birthday.Check-in was effortless and quick. When we got up to our room there was a lovely note wishing my husband a happy birthday with some complimentary treats and Prosecco. Such a wonderful surprise! We stayed in one of the lovely spa rooms which felt so luxurious after walking the cold windy streets of Pittsburgh. The staff were lovely and made the stay extra special. Will definitely return for another stay.
The staff was friendly and helpful from the moment we pulled up. Valet offered parking or suggested a garage just on corner. Dr not desk staff was welcoming and efficient. Room was clean and the hotel had a nice vibe to it. Very accommodating with our small dog as well. Highly recommend.
Comfortable and welcoming stay with our dog. Hotel is beautifully decorated in lush prints, fabrics, and details, creating a comfortable and interesting vibe that enhances the original architectural details of the building. We stayed on 2 different nights a week apart bookending a visit to family and the hotel was consistent in comfort, amenities, and attention to detail. On-site restaurant, The Commoner, was only ok for drinks and dinner (rather dull, limited menu) but better for breakfast…although points off for a broken espresso machine that was still broken a week later when we stayed again.
My very first trip away from my 5 month old and, I'll admit, I was a little bit nervous. But I'd read about the Mini fridges that Kimpton properties provide for breastfeeding mamas and had one delivered to my room moments after we arrived! It was a godsend so I could keep my liquid gold cold for when I returned to my little man. AND for those who aren't worried about that VERY niche benefit - this spot is the TOPS! we did dinners out, some foodie exploration, and the Monaco was a perfect jump off spot. Added bonus: they offer a complimentary happy hour in the lobby, which we enjoyed a few glasses of wine during right before our dinner reservation. The staff was incredibly attentive - we saw kids using the complimentary scooters, wish we'd had time to use the bikes but we had a wedding to attend, and you could tell the energy throughout the space was high.…
We really liked the hotel and that it was not the "typical hotel feeling" but more family-friendly and cozy with a unique design. We stayed for five nights initially but extended by an extra day to be able to go on an extra pittsburgh penguins game. PPG paints arena is close and you can walk there - which was great for us because the hockey games were the whole reason we visited Pittsburgh. The staff were very nice, especially Miles and William (?). Can't remember the names of the others but everyone was happy and helpful. The only negative thing I have to say about this hotel is that they forgot to clean our room one day and when we went down to reception and asked for new towels no one had come even after two hours. So we had to call down again and then the staff would send the cleaning staff straight away and only then would we get new towels. We ordered room service and wrote that the three starters had to be vegetarian but the soup came with bacon sprinkled over it. Luckily, I saw it because of a slightly larger piece of bacon. If everything had been equally finely chopped I probably would have thought it was something else and eaten. Would also loved if the breakfast was included in the price and if the showers had a nozzle you could lift down so you don't get water in your hair.…
Just a very nice experience, I lived in Pittsburgh troublemaker stations love the city state of the William Penn Inn beautiful hotel I have to also see that this Monaco standing hotel, first greeted by the parking Vales very friendly very helpful the front desk staff also extremely friendly and welcoming at the core was outstanding clean really nice what do you expect from a captain in the morning they had a beautiful coffee station laid out great restaurant hello rooms were clean spacious really weekly decorated I highly recommend this hotel
We decided to stay at the Monaco as i have always had excellent experiences at other Kimpton hotels. It was a good decision. Excellent location.Room outstanding. Staff incredibly helpful. One went out of her way to help my wife set up Uber account on iphone. Another checked bill and noted that i had been incorrectly billed for internet. It was also nice to take our small dog to wine reception in the living room. Our little Havanese loved all of the attention from other guests.
