Upon arrival I was highly concern about parking and checking in, as the hotel is on a small crowded and very busy road right smack in the middle of the city. But the staff was extremely kind and helpful. We are a rather large family who were beyond exhausted from doing a 14hr road trip and trying to get organized and unpack loads of suitcases with toddlers near a busy road... to say I was stressed would be an understatement none the less. But to my surprise it was done in the most efficient way possible, flawless if i'm being honest, I never once had to ask for help the staff step in as though they've known us their whole lives. We were there for about 4-5 night I lost track of exactly how long, but all I know is that whenever we decide to return home again, we will be staying here without question.

I wanted to give this property a good review on ambience alone but ambience is not enough. The toilet paper and towels were beyond words scratchy. I am not exaggerating. The paper is softer in an airport! If you stay here, bring your own roll and maybe your own towels. I think they are cutting back by buying cheap products and moreover, by not offering coffeemakers in every room. You have to request one and when you do, you get it. But then you have to go looking for cups and we paid $21 for four bottles of water. This is just not cool at all for a boutique hotel. There was construction outside so it was a bit noisy but the beds were comfortable and the housekeeping was excellent. Strangely, there was a refrigerator, which one almost never gets anymore. I think that money is better spent on some toilet paper, towels and coffeemakers. PS Oh, they nicely offered a very good glass of wine upon check in because we could not access the rooftop bar the entire stay. Prom time! Go to Talia's across the street and ask for Trey at the bar. He will make up for the lack of bar experience here.

Met family at the Kimpton late Fri. afternoon for a bite and drinks before our event. The Commons (incl. bar) was not open until 5:00, not even to take reservations. At 5:00, they let us (incl. child) crowd around the bar for nibbles and drinks, refusing to let us move to tables which were never occupied. Unfortunately, we later missed our reservation after the show. Again, the Commons couldn’t help us, even when the front desk spoke to them. The only excuse they rudely gave, was that all of their open tables were reserved. A nightmare of an evening traipsing around the construction in the city-except for the amazing new restaurant we found around the corner, who obviously works at accommodating guests with a smile! The Kimpton is no longer the place to go for a lovely evening in the city.

Hello, 273luannem - Thank you for taking the time to post your review. I am so sorry that we did not have availability in our restaurant to accommodate your party. Although the restaurant may have appeared empty at 5pm when we opened, there was an event in town, our books were full pre- and post-show and we had a large party in our private dining area, as well. I understand how frustrating this must have been and we certainly don't like to turn away business. As badly as I feel about being unable to seat your party, I know that our host felt equally as badly, if not worse. She left the floor shaken up and in tears after you were finished speaking with her. Best, Rob Mallinger General Manager

Very disappointing. No water bottles, no mini bar, no coffee making facilities in room. During 3 night stay housekeeping did not visit room once! Decor is starting to look shabby. Noise from street very audible —- eg the constant bleeping of pedestrian traffic signals. I was woken up by someone knocking on my door (while “Do not disturb” sign was on my door), and then my room phone ringing, asking about iPhone charger someone had ordered. I had not. They got the wrong room. Then, when checking out, they almost charged me for it. Receptionist said, “No it’s ok, it was the wrong room”. When I said it wasn’t exactly ok because I was woken up, there was no apology. What she meant was it was OK for the hotel not to charge me! No one batted an eyelid at a grumpy customer (I didn’t make a fuss because one should not need to, to get good service). I’m very baffled by how this place has such good reviews online.

Room Tip: Bring your own water. Ask for room on higher up floors (less noise). Ask how to get housekeeping...

Hello, TeraA11 - Thank you for sharing feedback regarding your recent stay with us. I'm so sorry to hear that we did not meet your expectations. We provide daily Housekeeping service and your room certainly should have been cleaned. I'd also like to apologize for the mistake regarding the iPhone charger which woke you up. I understand how frustrating that must have been. Regarding no water, no minibar and no coffee in the room, I'd like to clarify. All of our minibar items are now available at the Front Desk and we would be happy to deliver them to your room. This allows for an empty refrigerator in all rooms that our guests can use to their liking. We also offer complimentary coffee and tea each morning in our Living Room, however, if you prefer to make your own coffee, we always have Nespresso machines available upon request. If there is anything that you would like to speak about further, please don't hesitate to reach out. Best, Rob Mallinger General Manager

Spent one night at this gorgeous hotel with my husband for my birthday. Service, service, service!!! That is the word to explain this place from checking in, to the restaurant, to the valet, to the hotel cleaning staff. The service was impeccable! The restaurant attached the The Commoner was delicious. Make a reservation or you will not get in. We enjoyed our stay so much, we are thinking of returning in a few weeks for my husband's birthday.

Our visit was made in partnership with Kimpton. Our family of four, including 9 month old twin boys had the time of lives. What allowed such enjoyment, was the family friendly atmosphere along with the family amenities. Our family was comforted and entertained with the 4moms items available to guests. The playards provided us the safest place to play with our toys. The Momaroo swing gave the boys a place to relax, and the infant tub enabled the boys to safely take their baths. Additionally, the morning coffee hours were enjoyed by mom + dad. It even gave the twins a change of atmosphere, which really intrigued them. IF YOU ARE TRAVELING WITH A FAMILY, THIS IS WHERE YOU WANT TO STAY. Hotel Monaco makes your family travel easier, so you can enjoy your time, and not stress about it.

Hello, zzainfamily - Thank you for taking the time to post your review. I'm glad to have learned that you and your boys enjoyed your time with us and took advantage of our partnership with 4moms. They make great products and we love being able to share them with the families who stay with us. I'm also happy to hear that you were able to enjoy some grown-up time in our Living Room for our complimentary coffee service. With twin 9-month olds, I'm sure it was needed! We checked into the Kimpton for a couples weekend and to celebrate my husband’s birthday.Check-in was effortless and quick. When we got up to our room there was a lovely note wishing my husband a happy birthday with some complimentary treats and Prosecco. Such a wonderful surprise! We stayed in one of the lovely spa rooms which felt so luxurious after walking the cold windy streets of Pittsburgh. The staff were lovely and made the stay extra special. Will definitely return for another stay.

Hello, sar1811 - And a Happy Belated Birthday to your husband! Thank you so much for choosing to spend your special occasion with us. We love to help celebrate with our guests and I'm glad that you enjoyed the birthday note, the treats and the Prosecco. It certainly was a cold and windy January week, which makes the luxurious soaking tubs a great choice! We know that there are many other options available and certainly appreciate your confidence in us and your business. We hope to see you for the next celebration, too!
