Stayed one night on a quick weekend trip. Very pleased with the hotel. Interesting design & decor, like most Kimptons. Rooms weren't the largest, but bed was comfortable, super clean, and bathroom/shower was very nice, but it was the service that made the hotel stand out. Uniformly friendly and helpful, from the doorman who quickly explained the valet versus self-parking options ($38 valet vs $6 self park across the street on the weekend), to the front desk staff. Well equipped gym also, with 2 Peloton bikes in addition to the usual equipment. A great choice for a stay in downtown Pittsburgh.
We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Monaco during Christmas weekend. This is truly the dog friendliest hotel we have ever stayed at. It seemed like every guest had a dog with them, and this hotel truly welcomes them. We used to stay across the street at The Omni William Penn every Christmas, but while they allow you to bring your dog, they give you a downgraded room when you do. At Hotel Monaco we were offered a loaner dog bed and lots of treats, and we were given a lovely, whimsical, large room on the 8th floor with a terrific view of my favorite building - The Alcoa Building. Room service was super-quick and delivered in covid-resistant, eco-friendly, sustainable packaging. Towels and linens were of high quality, as was the bed and pillows. Water pressure in the shower was excellent in the luxurious bathroom. Only suggestions would be more hooks in the bathroom and towel bars near the sink to hang used hand towels. We had originally planned to stay for 3 nights, but our dog got very sick after the second night (we were seen bolting outside through the lobby more than once) and we decided to head home before our third night. I called the front desk to explain we needed to checkout early, but understood I had booked an unrefundable rate, so did not ask for nor expected a refund for the 3rd night. As we checked out, the very kind front desk person told us she hoped our dog would be okay, and that we would not be charged for the third night. Super kind, smart, and thoughtful. We will be returning to the Hotel Monaco for all of our future Christmas visits with or without our dog (she's fine now.) Thanks so much Hotel Monaco.…
When my fiance and I found this hotel when were planning a long weekend in Pittsburgh. The rave reviews lured us in initially, and I can now confirm it was for good reason. The whole experience was incredible. From the beginning, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We mentioned it was our first time to Pittsburgh and they welcomed us with lots of recommendations for the best experience. The hotel itself offered some wonderful amenities. One of our favorites was the texting feature, where we able to effortlessly request house-keeping with the tap of a finger. They also offered a wonderful happy hour in their funky living room, as well as coffee in the morning, which was a fun experience. We could've lounged in that space all day. The character in this building is unmatched, with precise attention to detail everywhere you look. Not to mention, incredibly homey rooms that were clean, modern and fun. Overall, we would recommend this spot to anyone in the city, it was fabulous!…
Our daughter was married at the Kimpton, Hotel Monaco 2 weeks ago. She and her fiance chose Hotel Monaco because of the positive vibe and attentiveness they received during their venue search. I can't say enough positive things about how well that continued through all phases, before, during and after the event. We couldn't have asked for better, more attentive service. We really felt as though the staff was as invested in our wedding and reception being a success as we were. Lindsey, Emily, Aasim and others were right there when we needed something and even when we didn't just to see if they could be of help. We couldn't have chosen a better venue. We booked over 30 rooms for our guests during Covid, the Christmas holiday, and a Steelers football weekend when the hotel was sold out, and it still felt like we had their full attention. Our guests all commented that it was a wonderful wedding experience and that the food was delicious. The hotel rooms, as well as the hotel itself, were comfortable, very clean and just so much fun! Thanks again!!…
Beautiful hotel In Pittsburgh. Comfortable spacious rooms. Sparkling clean washrooms. Front desk, House keeping, concierge staff were all helpful. Great location, within walking distance to most of the city's offerings.. Will definitely return and recommend.
I really love the Kimpton hotels, the service is usually unbeatable but this location was the worst service I’ve ever experienced. The nicest person was the Valet crew and we didn’t even have a car. We checked in on a Friday evening, the woman at the front desk didn’t even look up at us. She asked for my ID and name. I tried to engage in conversation and got nothing back. We also asked if we could upgrade to a King room but were told they had none. We stepped away to arrange ourselves and heard the next people checking In asking for the same upgrade and she was somehow able to make that happen for them. Dinner was delicious but again the service was lacking We ordered room service several times and the person on the other end was rude and abrupt and kept asking “is that it, are you done yet?” There were several other instances of really poor service but I think you get the point. We plan on coming back but we won’t stay here. Really unfortunate since we love these properties…
What a beautiful and clean hotel! Staff were extremely nice. Coffee area very welcoming and comfortable. Rooms super clean and beds very comfortable They offer wine tasters in afternoon and tea. Did not try the restaurant inside hotel but heard great things about it I can’t wait to come back to stay for a few days at this very cool hotel!
I first stayed with Kimpton in Dallas and had such a terrific experience that I wanted to check out the Pittsburgh location. Great stay with front desk providing wonderful service. A BIG thank you to Ty and Grace for making me feel so welcome and at home. Worth mentioning, the restaurant is fantastic and reasonably priced. Highly recommend!
My BFF and I decided on a last minute girls night in our hometown of Pittsburgh. I’ve become a regular at the Kimpton Schofield in Cleveland and thought to give the Kimpton Monaco a chance. The hotel is gorgeous! From the moment we checked in Alexander took amazing care of us! Will defiantly be staying again and highly recommend if your coming to Pittsburgh, PA.
