Customer service at the Kimpton Monaco Hotel is EXCELLENT!!! Connor, Aasim and all of the others at the front desk were AWESOME!! I have rarely received such caring, professional, congenial, and wonderful service. The room was very comfortable and amenities were great. Clean and well laid out; lots of room for us. The complimentary wine bar at 5:00 PM daily was very nice; the red wine 'Commoner' was quite delicious. Breakfast on our last morning before check out was quite nice; the coffee was very good. Thank you Kimpton Monaco for a wonderful stay.
The Kimpton Monaco is beautifully designed and decorated hotel in a great location. Unfortunately the service and amenities available do not match up to the high price tag. We were staying in a block of three rooms for three nights. Even on the way to the hotel we were having a bad feeling about the service available. First we called the hotel to see if they could help us make a dinner reservation. No, no they could not. Then we called to see if the restaurant could prepare some food for our kids as we had been traveling all day and they would be starving when we got there. No, no they could not. The restaurant was going to close 5 minutes before our arrival. I mean, first of all, this hotel does not have anything even close to 24 hour room service. Which, I mean, my bad. I should have checked on the room service hours. But the restaurant closed awfully early and they were unable to even ask to see if a small exception could have been made to put some to go food together for us. I've had better restaurant service from a Garden Inn. Could they help us obtain food for our starving kids? No. We hung up after receiving a suggestion to try Uber Eats or walk over to a taco place down the street when we got here. Uh, thanks. Super helpful. Not. Bug was found in bedding. Valet parking took up to 45 minutes for car to be retrieved, at $40 per night. No extras at all in room, such as coffee maker, bottled water, etc.; given that the price was upward of $300 per room, this was disappointing. Service was polite, but no one went out of their way to provide anything more than most basics available at a Holiday Inn Express, if that. For example, upon early checkout, restaurant only opened at 8:30am, no options for room service or any pacakaged breakfast prior; closest cafe was about a 10 minute walk away. There was at least one large wedding in the hotel, so perhaps the hotel caters more to those types of clients.…
This was a wonderful hotel. We were there for a pirates game. It's a 15-20 minute walk to the ballpark. The room was very clean and nice(we had a corner room). The staff was very friendly, helpful and professional, from the front desk staff to the valet parking staff. They have a very nice lobby/living room area in which to sit and relax. The hotel is also located close to the cultural district. We would definitely stay here again.
Another above and beyond experience at the Monaco! I slept so well, had a great bath, and felt amazing in the morning. I was happy to see Emily again and shout out to Grace and the evening valet for being there. I am already looking forward to staying my next Pittsburgh visit in July.
We stayed here for 5 days while visiting family. The rooms are gorgeous , the beds are soft, comfortable and the rooms are very clean. I loved the dimming features on the lighting and the amazing water pressure in the shower. The staff is so friendly, and texted us in the morning to find out about housekeeping and in the evening to make sure we had everything we needed. The housekeeping was immaculate and the valet took wonderful care of our car and us. I loved the afternoon wine and morning coffee. This is a difficult review because everything was so perfect and I don’t want to forget to mention all the small pleasures of being here. The staff make you feel so welcome. It is also very convenient to everything and we were able to walk for most of our dinners. We make frequent trips to Pittsburgh and will definitely stay here from now on. Thanks to the Kimpton for a wonderful stay.…
