We booked this hotel because we were in town for the Garth Brooks concert at Heinz Field. Our stay was very disappointing. We arrived an hour after check-in time but we were told our room was not ready yet because the hotel was sold out the night before. The parking lot was full and sections were blocked by tailgaters with tables, grills and chairs set up blocking the aisles. After 45 minutes of live parking outside in 85 degree heat finally a staff member got the tailgaters to move so we could park. We finally received a text message at 6:30 pm telling us our room was ready. When we returned from the concert, one of the elevators was not working so we had to use the stairs. The room had been cleaned but there was an odor of stale marijuana smoke and the sofa had a large tear in the armrest. There was a large rust stain in the bathtub and the toilet clogged when we flushed. One positive was that the breakfast setup the next morning was well stocked, fresh and the woman in charge of the eating area was pleasant, polite and friendly. The front desk clerk did take $100 off our bill for our "trouble" but we would have much preferred to pay full price and not have any aggravation. It was like the hotel had no experience with being booked to capacity before. We expected much more from a Marriott Property and sadly we will not return to this hotel.

Dear FieryStarr Thank you for the review of the SpringHill Suites North Shore. As we strive to provide all of our guests a memorable stay we have fallen short of meeting your expectations as well as our own. The issues you described are not typical of the standards we set forth. I am deeply sorry that we did not deliver on our promise of a great stay. I would not like to strain any future relationship we may have, so please feel free to reach out to me personally, so that I can ensure you have a great stay and deliver on our promise. Hospitably yours,

My family spent Mother's Day Weekend at the SpringHill Suites North Shore in Pittsburgh and had a truly wonderful stay! The entire staff went out of their way to ensure a warm and friendly experience for me and my young children - and I watched them interact with all the guests in the same welcoming way. From Charles the musical shuttle driver to Mia who helped us find the best ice cream parlor on the Strip to Tijuana, Rutha, Norma and Sean in the morning -- it was a real pleasure to spend our vacation with them. They were so patient and friendly with our kids and the staff at the SpringHill North Shore were sure to be one of the most memorable parts of the trip! The room was a great size and well suited to a family of four, including the separate seating area and kitchenette. Would definitely recommend for a family looking to stay and explore Pittsburgh!

We were treated like family by Tijuana, Rutha, Norma and Sean. Our kids got to especially know Tijuana, who made breakfast and mornings run so smoothly for us. The staff were friendly and our family felt so at home for our first trip to this city. The shuttle was easy to use and quick to book. The location was great and we were able to walk to many of our destinations (Warhol Museum, downtown, science center, etc.). We had a wonderful time and the staff were a big part of this trip being so fun for us and the kids (ages 4 and 7).

Great visit. Staff was so helpful. Norma found me sparking spot when the parking lot was full, gave me a banana before the race and remembered to ask me about the race the next day. Rutha kept the breakfast bar stocked with all the fixings. Service with a smile. Tamika rolled out the welcome mat and gave a little piece of sunshine to every person that entered the breakfast line. She had everybody smiling and interacting with each other. This service was the best I've ever experienced in a hotel. I'll be back!!
