Second time we stayed here, and we had again a wonderful stay. Mr. Cox is very helpful and he is always available to help with any issues. We will definitely be staying here again in the future if needed, and we will recommend this to any families in similar situations.

The Friendship suites is a great alternative to a hotel stay when visiting Pittsburg. We had very clean and spacious two-bedroom apartment with big dedicated parking place ( one less thing to worry about ) . Mr. Cox is literary reachable from the first ring, and was very helpful when we arrived very late, and apartment was locked. In a few minutes we were inside, We will be back, Thanks!

Second stay here. Convenient location for our needs, visiting our daughter and going to her graduation from Pitt. Clean apartment, off street parking, small but full kitchen. Quiet street, nice neighborhood. Overall a homey place to stay!

We had a short visit to look at CMU with our teenaged son. We arrived at exact check in time and followed Mr Cox's instuctions to enter the property. It was simple and parking was included. The neighborhood looked safe and quiet. The apt was huge with a living room we could all stretch out in instead of being smooshed in a hotel room! (For the same price). There was a Rite Aid within walking distance as well as an Aldi market...we forgot to bring coffee. Otherwise, the apt is fully equipped with dishes, teapot, coffee maker, etc. We will definately stay here again when visiting Pittsburgh!

We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment for a long weekend. It was in a lovely neighborhood convenient to local colleges, downtown, tourist attractions, restaurants and shopping. The apartment itself was nicely decorated and comfortable. Everything we needed was in the kitchen including coffee maker and tea kettle. There were plenty of towels. One bedroom had a queen bed and the other 2 twins. The first evening we were a little chilly and called the owner who immediately adjusted the temperature remotely. The bedrooms had mini-blinds, which let in a bit more light than I care for, but that's as close to a complaint as I could muster. I would certainly stay again.

We were visiting our granddaughter at college. The property is made up of three large older home on a quiet residential street. Our apartment had a large living room, entry hall, large dinning room, two bedrooms, a kitchen, bathroom and even a garage for our car. Every room was clean and nicely decorated. The owner was very accommodating. Since the room was not occupied the next night he allowed us a 2pm check out at no extra charge. I will definitely stay here next time we are in Pittsburgh.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for the night for the stadium series flyers/penguins game and we thought this hotel was neat! It was very clean and old fashioned. The location was great because it is only a few miles from Heinz field and bars. We had a reserved parking spot which was so convenient because we are not familiar with city style parking. The room has a home feeling to it and the bed was super comfy. Even though we never met the owner, he answers the phone immediately and was super nice. If we are ever back for another flyers game here, we will def be back!

Just lovely, we had a suite, so clean and within walking distance of quite a bit. Our daughter could come over and visit because it was so spacious. Easy access and parking. Will definitely book again!

I have reviewed this property in the past but it's always good to revisit accounts of places every couple of years to see whether they have changed. I'm glad to report that Friendship Suites has not. We stay here several times a year to visit family members who live nearby, and it couldn't be more perfect. We came here originally because in this part of the city, regular motels are scarce. There are more choices now than there used to be, but we don't care: This is our Pittsburgh home. Home it is. This is no sterile, cookie-cutter motel or hotel. Friendship Suites is a series of three big old family homes have have been subdivided into a number of efficiency, 1-bedroom, and 2-bedroom apartments. There is a genuine feel of being at home here instead of being in a corporate box. The facility is locally owned (more about that in a minute), tastefully furnished including a complete and well-equipped kitchen, climate control in each unit, convenient parking, satellite TV, and free wi-fi. And the price is similar to what you'd pay in one of those sterile corporate crowded motels. We stay here mostly for two- to four-day visits, but the facilities are ideal for much longer stays. Some residents are here on longer attachments to one of the large nearby universities or medical facilities, and it's really a place they can settle into as a home. It's called Friendship Suites because it's in the Friendship neighborhood of east Pittsburgh (near the neighborhoods of Squirrel Hill, East Liberty, Morningside, Highland Park, etc. if you know the area) but it could easily have earned the name because of its ownership. You will be treated like a friend here. The owner is personally involved with each guest and you even get his private cell phone number in case there are any problems. (There has never been a problem of any sort on any of our many stays, I should note, but I suppose it's at least a theoretical possibility.) We just don't feel like customers here, but like valued guests. Every honest review should touch on the negatives as well as the positives, no matter how much you like a place, so I'll have to do that, too. So, what I don't like is -- wait ... uh -- just a minute -- nope -- sorry. I can't think of anything at all.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite. It was very clean and comfortable. The location is really good - a short walk to Walnut St in Shadyside and and easy drive to many places. This is a much better option for 4 people than 2 rooms at a hotel. It was nice to have a full kitchen. I would highly recommend the Friendship Suites.
