Upon arrival we only found the hotel is half way shut down, the front desk informed us the hotel is under going a complete renovation phase. As a Marriott gold member we didn't get a upgrade but the room we assigned to had been renovated and it's huge, offering a full size refrigerator and a small stove so you can...

The renovations were not disclosed at the time of making the reservation or prior to arrival. The access to the elevators is limited and requires taking stairs and walking through a mess. The renovations are blocking access to the fitness center. The microwave oven in the room is quite small. There is no luggage rack in the room.

The free shuttle will take you to the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon which was a welcome benefit we were not expecting and saved us the hassle of having to find parking. However, if you have a 9:00 tour time at UPitt, please let them know in advance the night before as the shuttle driver was not waiting for...

The hotel is under renovation but the floor we were assigned to was newly completed and still smelled like fresh paint. It was beautifully done with nice appointments and fresh towels to boot. The lobby is still torn up but will look nice when finished. They offer a shuttle service around the area which is convenient if you want to...

My father and I stayed at this property for two weeks and three days after he received an emergency liver transplant at the VA. My apprehension was high enough when I arrived considering the three-hour flight delay and the prospects of taking care of my dad on my own at this hotel. I arrived in the middle of the night,...

I generally really like Marriott properties and especially Residence Inn when traveling with family. This Residence Inn stay was a solid 'okay'. Pros: really liked the room. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite that worked well for family of four. Also really liked the scrambled egg whites at breakfast - nice healthier touch. Great location also. Just a mile...

I had to go to Pittsburg VA for a liver transplant. The VA placed me at the Residence Inn after I was released from the Hospital to continue my recovery.
