If you bicycle and have your bicycle, it is a very nice place to stay. The GAP is across the street. One can cross the Hot Metal bridge and ride to Point State Park. Has a nice complimentary breakfast. Would recommend the river side as the opposite side has railroad tracks with periodic trains. Many restaurants are within walking distance.

I love the Southside Works area of Pittsburg and have stayed in this area a few times. My first to this property however. The hotel is in a great location, the rooms are very nice with plenty of room with a sitting area separated by a frosted glass wall. We had a King room. The morning breakfast was adequate, but...

Thank you for choosing to stay with us at the Springhill Suites South Side Works. I do apologize that the level of guest services wasn't up to your expectations of the Marriott standards. I do apologize that you did not enjoy the breakfast. Everything that is served on our breakfast buffet is within the Marriott breakfast standards. I am very...

Stayed for one night. The room was spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was nice. Location was great. Liked the location because it was on the bike trail. The room with 2 queen beds, should have two TV sets, because there is a sofa sleeper. The TV location is odd.

This was our second stay at Springhill Suites in South Side. The Hotel is new, clean and well decorated. The rooms are spacious and they have spectacular views of the river. The hotel is within a block of shopping/restaurants and also within walking distance of Carson Street (if you enjoy night time clubs/bars). I would not hesitate to stay here...

I visited Pittsburgh this past weekend for the Steelers first home game. I chose this hotel due its prime location in Southside and easy access into downtown Pittsburgh for the game. I had read many TripAdvisor reviews before choosing this hotel which I found quite helpful. The hotel is located in a prime area in Southside. It is located only...

The location of this hotel is mostly wonderful. We felt it was a really good home base from which to explore Pittsburgh for the first time. It is in the Southside Works neighborhood which runs along the beautiful Monongahela River. Pittsburgh's famous Hot Metal Bridge is steps away. This area has a good vibe, and is clean with many businesses,...

I stayed here for its very convenient location. It is within walking distance of UPitt, Steelers training, etc., and just across the historic Hot Metal Bridge. I wasn't sure what to expect, based on previous reviews, but was very pleasantly surprised. This hotel is about six years old but just completed a major renovation/facelift - very modern, crisp style. I...

Love the hotel and the location. It is a short drive to the Pitt campus and very near the Southside restaurants. The staff was friendly. The room was very comfortable. I really liked the white bedding. The breakfast in the morning was very nice.

Loved the decor and location near the river and action of Southside but with the river comes trains! A couple passed by in the night. If you are used to using earplugs you'll be fine. If not, good luck. Nice breakfast in the morning too.
