The hotel was perfectly adequate. The bed was comfortable, the shower was good and the breakfast offerings were fine. The lobby area is nice, and most of the staff are helpful and friendly. Shout out to Ramona, the daytime receptionist. She was very nice and helpful, and was happy to listen to my tales of walking woe. A few updates would be good. An additional wastebasket in the bathroom would help, and a few touch-ups to the decor would make it prettier. The only complaint I have is one that will affect future stays. I stayed at this hotel several years ago, and the shuttle service was wonderful, and went from early morning until late at night. Extremely helpful. This time, it was supposed to be running Thursday-Sunday from 7am-3pm, but the driver called in sick on Thursday, so, even though I was there from Tuesday-Saturday, I was only able to use it on Friday. And the driver was extremely surly and unfriendly. He was brusque and rude, and kind of yelled at me when I went to sit in the back, though he had made no gestures to indicate beforehand where I should sit, so I followed most protocols. So, I had to sit in front in very uncomfortable silence, even though I tried to make some conversation. He basically just didn't respond. I think people need to learn how to pretend they don't hate their jobs.…
Moving our daughter into Pitt for the year. Hotel’s location was very convenient, clean, comfortable and provided a great breakfast. Rooms are good-sized, beds were comfortable and rooms are well-appointed.
I am a Diamond Member and have been staying in hotels for years. I was happy with checking inn and getting my room and parking pass. The front desk worker was a female who was very pleasant and was accommodating to all my needs and she was the only good thing about my entire stay. When I went to eat in the morning I understand they have hours on food but I have to be up at 4am I asked if I could get some cereal the worker said he would allow it one time and thats it. I am very dissatisfied that this is the response I got after spending thousands of dollars at this hotel chain. The hotel was also under major construction which isnt a big deal but the workout room has 2 machines broken and had been down for the two whole weeks I had been there. I am not pleased with this hotel not a good look for Hampton Inn.…
This hotel is the worst Hampton Inn we have ever stayed at. First, we reserved a room with two beds and when we arrived the front desk clerk informed us (as well as others who had reserved two beds) that they only had rooms with 1 bed. This was an issue for me and my guest but it was too late to try to hunt around for another hotel. I complained to customer service 800 number and never heard back from the manager despite the fact that I was told she would contact me, and despite the fact that I left her a detailed message. Further, our room was not maintained well, and there was a towel hook about to fall off door and some mold or mildew on the wall under the sink. This place needs work and a manager who values customers. For a two night stay that totaled over $600 this place is quite a dump. Stay clear of this one!…
Extremely clean hotel. My room was clean and comfortable. The Continental breakfast had a variety of food items to choose from. The driver of the free shuttle is absolutely delightful and very courteous caring person.
So I’m gonna start this with you off by saying that we booked three different rooms And I will only be reviewing the rooms themselves, not the issue that we had with service. To start off with one of the rooms that we booked wasn’t cleaned or if it was, there was some areas that were missed. Dirty rags still being in the room and dirty sheets/comforters. In our room there were obvious signs of water damage at some point in the past that were just patched over and not really repaired properly. Then in the shower, the showerhead vibrated around the with the water pressure, indicating that the pipes had not been secured to anything behind the wall. I get that this particular location is within the city and not very far from the University and downtown but the parking spaces are very narrow so just be mindful of that. You do get a parking pass and the rate is included in when you pay for your hotel. I don’t know, I guess I just expect more from a hotel with a regular rate is above $200 a night.…
Hotel is decent. Some of it is updated. My room (200) was relatively clean. Heat and AC work well and not noisy. Bathroom is small but has its own heater (welcome to Pittsburgh). Plumbing is dated. Toilet slow flush. Shower very small and have to over tighten to stop it dripping. Shower didn’t feel clean to my OCD. Water pressure fair. Water gets very hot quick. Easy to plug in your fire stick at TV. Wi-Fi solid and free. Nightstand has one usb and two outlets. Elevators are quick but they have a bit of a funk going on. Has off street parking if needed. The shuttle runs all day and half the night toward weekends. Driver got me to the convention center with no traffic at rush hour in 10 minutes with zero commotion. WOW! She is good! I’d stay here again… in a pinch.
the hotel is clean, most of the team smiling and welcoming. The breakfast was good and sufficient and we have appreciated a lot to get hot coffee or tea the whole day long. And the room was clean furnished with all the toilet stuff
For 530 USD for 2 nights, you get a overcrowded empty buffet at breakfast (no oatmeal left, no bread) with dirty table that you have to clean yourself and cherry on top, the room is only cleaned every 3 days and the room smells foot sweat. Worst hotel experience ever for such a price. I am not even detailing here the tone of the hostess at the reception explaining that the COVID protocole is the reason for such a bad service. All hotels I have been recently have daily cleaning but not this one. To be avoided at all costs.
Recently stayed at this Hampton Inn with our swim team because my kids were in a championship swim meet at the University of Pittsburgh and this hotel is very close. However, we had a couple of problems. Like other hotels since Covid, cleaning service is limited. We were told that the room would be cleaned on day 3 of our 5-night stay. However, we ran out of towels (4 people in our room) and TP rather quickly (only three bath towels and one roll of tp were supplied in the room on day 1). On day two in the morning, I wanted to take a shower and did not have towels (kids and husband showered first). My husband went down to the front desk to be told rudely that the towels were being washed and would not be available until the afternoon sometime. So I called down to the front desk to ask when there would be towels. "I have no idea" was the response. When I asked when they normally were done - "no idea". Since I was paying over 200 a day to stay here, I wanted to take a shower when it was convenient for me. So I called the main Hilton number and complained. They then called the front desk at our hotel and poof -- I immediately got a call saying that there were towels available (but I had to pick them up myself). Day 3 when we were told we were scheduled to have the room cleaned (and we requested it also) - the room was not cleaned. My husband was mad and asked them to clean the room on day 4 (in the meantime we were emptying our own trash down the hall and searching daily for cleaning help to get toilet paper). He found a cleaner and she said she would clean the room but we would have to strip down our beds and put the sheets in the hallway. Since when do guests have to do the cleaners' jobs? What exactly are guests paying in a hotel if there are no clean towels available, if you have to beg for toilet paper, if you have to strip down your own beds to have your room cleaned, if the front desk personnel are consistently rude to the guests? I will not be coming back to this hotel.…
