The hotel has definitely been remodeled recently. However, there a minor things that are noticeable wear, but can’t complain. These are pretty much the decals peeling everywhere and the caulk in the shower peeling away. These are minor.

Arrival was pretty smooth. $25 per night for parking. There is parking in front of the hotel and also across from the hotel in a secured overflow lot. Staff was helpful and nice at the front desk. They don’t have much staff overall. So there are lines when you need guest services. Room overall is nice and clean, but definitely smells of dirty carpet and needs a clean refresh of some sort or some kind of deodorizer. Wall controlled AC, but be mindful it is on a sensor and if you leave the room for an extended period, it will turn off.

Breakfast space is really small and gets congested. Only one person helping, but she’s doing great and the best she can! The food is good and plenty of choices. I just wish there was someone to help her clean the tables. They were very dirty and the wipe station was empty to be able to do it myself.

For a Hampton Inn and $250 for the night, I definitely think this wasn’t the better experience. I choose this brand for a reason and this time was just ok. Overall, it was a comfortable bed, hot shower, good breakfast. They definitely need to focus on the busier days and details. I don’t want to knock the hotel because it was ok. I just don’t think it was the fest representative of the brand. Maybe for $150 a night.

My mom is currently a patient at UPMC Presby and I wanted a hotel room that was close and reasonably priced. I love Hamptons so I was pleasantly surprised to find one 0.4 miles from Presby. It’s really easy to get to the hospital from the hotel which is a huge bonus because I’m not familiar with Pittsburgh. It also feels like a safe location.

The rate does not include parking, but another added bonus was that they do have a hospital rate at the hotel.

My room is clean, has a fridge and a microwave. The staff have been pleasant and was able to provide me with information on the closest stores and laundromat. If you need it - Blvd Laundromat is a nice clean Laundromat and, again, I felt safe.

They have modified their breakfast for CoVid and housekeeping comes every 3 days, but your adequately stocked and can easily get additional items if needed.

All in all, a good stay and would definitely recommend to anyone in the area wanting an affordable room, in a safe location and close to the hospitals.

This hotel is a more affordable option for those who have a car visiting the downtown Pittsburg area. A hot breakfast, coffee (all day), and wifi is included, but parking is $15 per day. Our room was modern and clean, and had a nice view of the river.

We chose this hotel because everything else was booked more than a month before Pitt’s Family Weekend. Now, we know why they still had rooms. We tend to be loyal to the Hilton brand on road trips because the hotels are reliable; clean and comfortable. This hotel is neither.
The room was claustrophobic and everything felt dirty. The parking lot was completely flooded for the duration of our three day stay so many guests, including us, had to park across the street in a gated lot. While the hotel was geographically close to Pitt and Carlow, the area was run down and we didn’t feel comfortable walking around at night. That’s a first for us in this city. Breakfast ended at 9 am on the weekend so we didn’t partake.
The front desk staff was beyond rude. The woman working on Friday night seemed annoyed when we checked in and then again on Saturday night when we asked for new bath towels because our room was never serviced. She was so rude, I thought it was a joke. It was not.
Make note that rooms are serviced every three days. We were never told that when we check in. I would literally stay 30 minutes from campus than to ever spend money at this hotel again.

Room was mostly great. Just a couple minor things needed sprucing. Light switch & smudge on wall by toilet need attention. Bathroom had mildew scent (possibly). Couldn’t trace the scent. Could have been floors washed with dirty water. Floors were sticky in bathroom.
Beds etc were all clean and comfy. Kitchen staff were attentive to refills & spills. Desk was friendly.

This hotel did not abide by its own cleanliness procedures (e.g., cleaning each room every third day). The only operating guest elevator (there were two, but one was already broken) broke down, and no assistance was provided to guests to get to their rooms (e.g., hotel staff denied that there was a freight elevater, which is hard to believe). This handicapped guest had to climb 4 flights of steps, and other guests had to carry their luggage for up to 8 flights of steps. In addition, the staff were surly and rude. I didn’t feel like a guest. I felt like I was inconveniencing them when I requested anything. The hotel did not appear to have a manager on property a lot of the time (or the manager didn’t want to deal with guests). I will never stay at this property again and I strongly recommend that others select another Pittsburgh area hotel.

So I’m gonna start this with you off by saying that we booked three different rooms And I will only be reviewing the rooms themselves, not the issue that we had with service. To start off with one of the rooms that we booked wasn’t cleaned or if it was, there was some areas that were missed. Dirty rags still being in the room and dirty sheets/comforters.

In our room there were obvious signs of water damage at some point in the past that were just patched over and not really repaired properly. Then in the shower, the showerhead vibrated around the with the water pressure, indicating that the pipes had not been secured to anything behind the wall.

I get that this particular location is within the city and not very far from the University and downtown but the parking spaces are very narrow so just be mindful of that. You do get a parking pass and the rate is included in when you pay for your hotel.

I don’t know, I guess I just expect more from a hotel with a regular rate is above $200 a night.

We are big fans of Hampton Inns but NOT this one! We were in town for a retirement dinner and choose to stay here as it was 1 of 2 hotels that they reserved rooms at.We have always had great experiences at HI. The positive of this hotel- the women that checked us in was very nice, room (618) was clean (a bit confused as to why the closest doors and all drawers were left opened) but very small. Now for the negative- There were full bags of garbage left near the elevator on the main floor as well as the 6th floor…they were still there 8 hours after check in (2:30), breakfast buffet was not restocked so we had a very limited choice to choose from and the tables were not cleaned. There was an employee working the area so I was a bit confused as to why she didn’t restock the buffet or wipe down the tables as needed. There was also a full bag of garbage next to the trash can. I have stayed at a hotel where bags of trash are left behind…Not a good look! We are Hilton honor members and stay at Hilton hotels often, I’m not sure why we were put in such a small room as the hotel wasn’t full the night we were there. If you are staying more than one night you don’t want room 618 as it feels claustrophobic with 2 people. If this had been our first experience staying at a Hampton Inn I don’t think we would ever choose to stay at another one. We will not be returning to this hotel when in Pittsburgh.

I had meetings in the area and did not expect to spend much time in the room. Hampton Inns have been reliable in the past. I don't expect frills, but this hotel was one of the worst places I have stayed. Cleanliness was questionable and housekeeping items were not replenished as requested (was not expecting daily housekeeping during covid, but did expect to receive clean towels and replacement toiletries when requested). The plumbing seems to be very old, you could hear the pipes struggling when the shower was on. The location is not as convenient as other chain hotels in the area. Next time, I will try one of the others.

For 530 USD for 2 nights, you get a overcrowded empty buffet at breakfast (no oatmeal left, no bread) with dirty table that you have to clean yourself and cherry on top, the room is only cleaned every 3 days and the room smells foot sweat. Worst hotel experience ever for such a price. I am not even detailing here the tone of the hostess at the reception explaining that the COVID protocole is the reason for such a bad service. All hotels I have been recently have daily cleaning but not this one. To be avoided at all costs.

The parking for our hotel is self parking at $15 a night with in and out privileges. We offer two lots. One directly outside the hotel lobby and an overflow lot directly across from us. If you are in as a hospital patient or family of a hospital patient we do offer parking discounts. The front desk can assist you with that when making your reservation.
