All staff were very professional and friendly. Room was very clean and bed comfortable. The one thing I absolutely hated was the pumped in fragrance. I joined Bonvoy membership but will cancle because of this. I will no longer stay at a Westin or Marriott.
I stayed here for a work conference. Staff were all very friendly and pleasant. They honored my Marriott bonvoy status and upgraded my room, put me on a high floor and provided foam pillows as was on my list of preferences. Parking was easy as the garage is right below the hotel. Lobby and conference area was very nice and clean. My biggest criticism is the room was very dated, dingy, not clean and smelled like dirty stinky feet. The hallways were also dated, dingy and needed a good cleaning- especially the hallway carpets. The hotel space is nice but the rooms all need a major update and hopefully Marriott/Westin will put this on their list of properties for updating soon. Especially given its location next to the convention center.
I travel and stay at Westin /Marriott very often. I can not believe the rude treatment from the front desk at this Weston. Inconsiderate and actually mean when asked for a simple accommodation. Marriott Gold Elite status ignored and told to find somewhere else. Stunned
I spent way too much money on this outdated hotel suite. No vent in the bathroom-no exhaust at all, dim lighting in bathroom, no bags in trashcans. The suite says it sleeps 3, but no extra pillows or blankets. The pillows were very pathetic for a king bed. Continental breakfast was way too expensive, did the know what the cost would be (originally thought it was free until I was handed a bill), poor selection at the breakfast-nothing hot was out other than oatmeal-no protein out (seems minimal, but literally $12 per person for oatmeal and stale bagels). I must have misunderstood, but i thought this hotel had parking-but alas-another charge of $28 per day and hourly paid parking. Was overall just disappointed with this stay.
Although I feel the hotel is a little dated and tired, everything was in good shape and worked well. The hotel was very busy due to the Steelers vs. Ravens game, but the staff were all friendly and helpful. A positive experience all around. I just like newer.
The lobby of the hotel looks really good, friendly staff and Bill's was a great choice for eating on the run. The rooms are really dated. The mattress on the bed was to be desired for; it was old lumpy and sinking in the middle. The air conditioner never got cool; it seems the more we adjusted it the hotter it would get. You would think the rooms would be luxury due to rates.
We have stayed at the Westin in Pittsburgh 3 times in the last 6 weeks. All 3 times have been great. From the check in process to checking out everything has been great. The hotel is centrally located and easy access to lots of places to eat and drink. also a quick walk to the T. The valet guys were all great as well. Quick, efficent and friendly as well. The rooms were clean and spacious. A nice feature is that you don't have to have house keeping and if you for go it you get extra Marriott points on your account. There is even a Starbucks on property too. We also ate at Bills which was very goo. Will review that separately and also the Penn Grill upstairs which was also good. The hotel is always very busy with lots of events going on. The service we received was great. Will definitely stay here again.…
Large convention center hotel with spacious rooms and lobby restaurant & bar. Conveniently located to walk around the city or head out to a game at PNC Park. Helpful bell staff; it took a bit longer to get a cot/rollaway delivered to our room from housekeeping, but still plenty early in the day. No wait for the valet to deliver car upon departure.
The worst experience. After driving 10 hours, we arrived to a hotel where the staff is rude and not willing to help. Even as we arrived at 7pm our rooms were not ready and when we can enter them, they were dirty, with other's people clothes still there, and even used tissues in the drawers.
I have stayed here for more nights than I can count when travelling for work, and it's everything you need. I've never got a bad room, and everyone is always very welcoming and friendly. It's not going to blow you away with luxury and feels very "chain-hotel" inside, but it's a reliable and safe place to stay in Pittsburgh and in a good location, close to local restaurants downtown and in the Strip. You can't go wrong, and after trying all other hotels in the area, this is the best around hands down.
