You can valet or self park. The lobby appears to be renovated and has a nice “green” wall when you walk in! The check in staff were very polite and efficient. The fitness area looks nice and newer. (Floor4)There is an indoor fitness pool. The rooms are somewhat updated but still feel a little dated. Our air conditioning isn’t working super well. Our city view room looks out over the convention center and review. The area isn’t that great if you are looking to walk around and find food/shopping. This is considered the business district. So we ate dinner at the bar attached to the hotel. The service was good but the food was not awesome.

I travel. More and more these days. And because of that, I have to get my workouts in on the road. So I book Westin's - because they're supposed to have Peloton bikes - my workout of choice - and very necessary as part of my training for my upcoming 192 mile charity bike ride. So I booked the Westin Pittsburgh - even though it is inconvenient relative to my client so I can get said workout. I pack extra gear (bike shoes, shorts, etc). After I checked in and unpacked, went to the "Westin Workout" - and no peloton bikes - not one - a couple of 1960s era fan bikes. Go to the front desk - where are your pelotons - they never heard of them - clerk goes to ask someone in the back - we don't have any pelotons in our gym (thank you Captain Obvious) - but do have them in select suites you have to book in advance. Except that's not disclosed on the Marriott website, nor is there any way to actually book said room. No help from the front desk. I guess its a first world problem - and at least its not bed bugs - but I would never have booked this inconvenient hotel had I known. Awful hotel with a staff to suit.

Dear AdvisorDuJour, Thank you for your review of our hotel. We are sorry you experienced so many difficulties during your stay with us. This is not the type of review we are accustomed to receiving, and it is very disappointing to read. Your comments will be shared with the team, and we will take the appropriate steps to prevent these issues from happening again. We want every guest who stays with us to have a comfortable experience and to depart with a lasting favorable impression. We fell short in making that happen for you, and we are truly sorry. Although your experience is not typical of our service delivery, we obviously have room to improve, and we assure you we will. We appreciate your feedback, and we hope you will give us another chance to provide you with exceptional service in the near future so we can regain your confidence. Be Well, Bret Scagline Westin Experience Specialist

Josh, who was in training, was wonderful. Because of him we moved into this hotel. Thank you Josh. You will ace your training. This is all I wanted to say. No shuttle or concierge was available during stay but a wonderful woman stepped in and made it a great stay. Wish I had noted her name.

We stayed here for a conference and really enjoyed our stay! Check in was quick and the representative was friendly and attentive. Our room was very spacious and the beds were super comfy. The cleaning staff was great. We ordered room service one night and loved it. We also ate at the Burger Bar in the hotel and enjoyed our food and drink. The only negative was the elevator wait to get to the conference area. We waited almost 1/2 hour during a break. They are going to solve problem with a escalator soon.

Was a little concerned as when I lived there (over 35 years ago) this area wasn’t too nice. But now, wow, what a difference. We got a great weekend rate at this hotel, so made the stay even better. What we liked most: you can exit the hotel, turn right, walk under the covered drive through of the convention center, and you’re at the river walk. There is also a connection between the hotel and the convention center, therefore if the weather is bad you don’t have to go outside. We walked all the way to the Smithfield street bridge, crossed it and went to the tour boats adjacent to Station Square. Station Square is under renovation right now, but there are restaurants along the river side. BTW, the walk to Station Square was a brisk 1 hour for us. Probably just over 3 miles, I would guess. And if you take Uber, as we did in one direction, that was about $9. You can also use a couple bridges and be along the north shore where you can visit: the science center, the rivers casino, tour the submarine, go to PNC park or Heinz field, all within walking distance. I would say the Rivers Casino was about 2-2.5 miles of walking, and that is on the far end of the north shore. The hotel borders what is now referred to as the cultural center of Pittsburgh. There was a Jazz festival going on that weekend a block or so from the hotel, so the music was a plus. We also used Uber for our ride to the Greater Pittsburgh International Airport. Now this was a real surprise, but we left after rush hour on a Monday and made the Airport in 17 mins! The Uber ride at this time was $31 and change, another pleasant surprise. All in all a great stay!
