It was tough leaving the Westin Pittsburgh this past Sunday after an amazing Wedding weekend. Our daughter chose the Westin Pittsburgh after our first meeting with Kelly our event Executive. Kelly was exceptional!! Every aspect of wedding planning was addressed and the Westin met our needs and then some. From the rehearsal and dinner to the wedding ceremony followed by cocktail hour and concluding with the celebration. The entire staff was eager to help in anyway possible. The food (and drink) for all the events was delicious and plentiful. The rooms and suites were very accommodating. We are very thankful to Kelly and her staff for their hard work and attention to details. "AN AMAZING WEDDING VENUE"!!
I am an extremely hard grader. Maybe 1 in 20 make a 5 because everything has to be exceptional. Maybe 2 in 20 make a 4 where an item or two can be less than exceptional. The other 17 3 or less. Hands down a 5. Great bathroom. Great bed. Refrigerator. Nice lobby area. TO BE PERFECTLY CLEAR. THEY MAKE THE ROOM CLEANING CLEANING ON REQUEST POLICY CLEAR AT CHECK IN. THE MAKE CLEAR THERE IS NO ROOM SERVICE YET AVAILABLE.
Had a great stay at the Westin Pittsburgh. Location was very convenient to the Federal Building, Convention Center, and a reasonable walking distance to the baseball stadium. Staff was very friendly and helpful. My King room was overbooked so they gave me a premium double queen and a complementary breakfast (which the buffet was also delicious but expensive without the credit). Great view of the river from the 23rd floor. The room itself was good, but nothing special. The gym was surprisingly large and very well equipped with plenty of machines and open area for free weights. Great restaurant and bar in the lobby, plus a Starbucks and plenty of restaurants across the street.
The gym in this place sold me, it was great if you're an athlete or someone that wants heavy weights and great cardio equipment. The room was nice and comfortable and came with 2 waters. The restaurant attached was a decent little burger place. I would stay again at a discount.
The front desk has the best customer service. Breakfast was great, fresh and waitresses are very attractive. Love the location at the heart of cultural district. The hotel smells so fesh and very clean. I love our room with very nice few of the city, very clean and smell so clean. Housekeeping services are very quick to response. I love Westin hotel and will definitely stay here again. Thank you for accomodating us.
we were only here for a night. the location fit the westin brand and my expectations. I like the location because it was so walkable checking out the local businesses. everything was clean and I loved the air scent the hotel uses. it makes me think of bellagio. everything was clean and check in was very efficient. good place for me to remember next time I'm in this area.
Our family has been traveling quite frequently lately and often have had sub-optimal experiences at hotels. Our recent weekend at the Westin Pittsburgh was a refreshingly pleasant experience. When we pulled up at the front for check-in, a bellman was to our car in less than a minute with a luggage cart and explained what our options were for parking and the pros/cons of each option. It was much appreciated and very efficient. At check-in, I was very surprised by how helpful the front desk staff was. We had booked 2 adjoining rooms/2 double beds per room. Two double rooms weren't really what my family needed, but since we booked in a room block, we didn't have a choice. When checking me in, they said we had 2 adjoining rooms on the 5th floor...was that ok? "Was that OK?"...those three little words are so appreciated. I asked if there was any chance they had 2 adjoining rooms that were double/King on a higher floor. They checked and found availability on the 17th floor. Perfect! So, our family got exactly what we wanted and the front desk staff couldn't have been more helpful. (sorry, I didn't catch their names, but check in was evening of 2/4 if management is reading this and could give those team members a shout out). Rooms were exceptionally clean - no issues there. Had dinner that night at the hotel restaurant (Billy's Bar & Burgers). Food was good, milkshakes were tasty, and it was all a bit pricey. Higher prices are expected when downtown (city) and at a hotel restaurant. One suggestion I have for housekeeping staff is to double-check those shampoo/conditioner/body wash dispensers in the bathrooms. They were empty upon arrival in one of our rooms and ran out the second day in the other room. We had to ask for a replenishment mid-stay. Easy enough to do via the Bonvoy app, but really shouldn't have been needed. Overall, an excellent experience at the Westin.…
Beware of certain things about this hotel. If you are a coffee drinker, you're in trouble. The coffee they offer in the room is the pod/ machine. Horrid. The Starbucks is hard to find, a walk away, and open in the AM only as is their breakfast on the second floor. No room service. Not calling for a box of Kleenex, really. Little shop by the front desk does not take cash. The floor we were on had a lot of pot smokers. Quite evident in the hallway. Other than these things, a good location, expensive parking under the place, and and very pleasant staff.
We were in town for a wedding; The Westin is a great location and the wedding room rate was reasonable. Large room, a bit threadbare and lacking chairs. I hate to watch tv in bed so we requested a chair, even an office chair would have been nice, but we never received. I think the hotel is understaffed.
At $408 per night I thought we might get fresh wash cloths during our 3 night stay. Or perhaps glasses or plastic cups for the bathroom. We were told at checkout that housekeeping was by request only. That seems odd since housekeeping knocked on our door at 8:10 the day we were checking out. The room was stocked with 2 sets of Starbucks coffee, 2 paper Starbucks coffee cups and 2 bottled waters. No other cups or glasses. The toilet had those pink stains, which I associate with not being scrubbed in a while. We will keep this in mind when selecting Marriott or Westin properties in the future. This may be isolated to Pittsburgh, but guilt by association is definitely crossing our minds.
