I stayed here for a multi-day conference, and I have to say: I struggled to find fault with The Westin and therefore had to give them the five stars they deserve. The extreme curves of descending down, down, down into the bowels of the parking garage was the first, last and only unpleasant part of the stay. Service was extremely helpful and friendly, from answering questions to grabbing me a bellcart. My room with a king bed was ample in size, and the fridge was appreciated. Beautiful views of the city! The enhanced Internet (free with Marriott Bonvoy reward program) was solid for streaming on multiple devices. Speaking of, I love how Marriott allows you to log into your Netflix, Amazon Prime, and other services easily and directly inside the TV setup, so you can watch shows without hooking up to by HDMI. The bed was comfortable and I slept well over several nights. Lastly, the bathroom was great -- there is both a large rain shower head as well as a pressure spray wand, and it was tall enough for my 5 foot 11 self. I highly recommend a stay here.

One last thing: if you happen to be attending something at the Convention Center, the convenience of staying here is worth every penny. The skybridge over to the Center meant I could be from my room to a session Convention room in less than 10 minutes.

I like the parking garage because it’s easy to get in and out. Numbered spaces make it easy to find your car.
Room 1207 was spacious with 2 beds, desk, fridge and chair-sitting area.
Beds were comfortable and had nice linens. Nice view of the city. Starbucks coffee in the room.
Bathroom is a little dated with a low countertop so you have to lean over to brush your teeth. Shower was more up graded with rain shower head and hand held sprayer. Nice to have choices. Water pressure is ok. Bath towels were hard and cheap and felt like a bit like loofah. I expect a little nicer towels in a $300 room

Had a great stay at the Westin Pittsburgh. Location was very convenient to the Federal Building, Convention Center, and a reasonable walking distance to the baseball stadium. Staff was very friendly and helpful. My King room was overbooked so they gave me a premium double queen and a complementary breakfast (which the buffet was also delicious but expensive without the credit). Great view of the river from the 23rd floor. The room itself was good, but nothing special. The gym was surprisingly large and very well equipped with plenty of machines and open area for free weights. Great restaurant and bar in the lobby, plus a Starbucks and plenty of restaurants across the street.

At $408 per night I thought we might get fresh wash cloths during our 3 night stay. Or perhaps glasses or plastic cups for the bathroom. We were told at checkout that housekeeping was by request only. That seems odd since housekeeping knocked on our door at 8:10 the day we were checking out. The room was stocked with 2 sets of Starbucks coffee, 2 paper Starbucks coffee cups and 2 bottled waters. No other cups or glasses. The toilet had those pink stains, which I associate with not being scrubbed in a while. We will keep this in mind when selecting Marriott or Westin properties in the future. This may be isolated to Pittsburgh, but guilt by association is definitely crossing our minds.

Well, not to many things I can say about this place. First and foremost, I would like to mention that the staff was amazing and super friendly for the entire stay. Every single person from the front desk to the banquet servers were so kind and always exceeded expectations. The sous chef in Bill’s was very kind and went out of his way to make sure we were enjoying a quick meal. The hotel is in need of major upgrades, deep cleaning and renovations. The rooms are rundown and certainly were not clean unfortunately. Food was left over in the refrigerator from another guest and there were fingerprints on many spots in the bathroom. The furniture was run down and the HVAC system was unbearable. One of the other guests complained that there was broken glass on the carpeting - so clearly the cleaning staff was not vacuuming any of the rooms on a regular basis, if at all. On another positive note, it was in a pretty good location and the room TV was large. Pittsburgh in general could be a beautiful city however there is a lot of garbage laying around on the streets especially down by the river. There were a lot of cigarette butts laying around the hotel grounds, and at one point somebody actually used an outdoor alcove on the side of the property as a “restroom” while I was standing outside. There was no valet parking available on the day I arrived, and parking below the hotel was $24 a night. The signage to grab the hotel elevator from the parking garage was also lacking, it was hard to find. I am pretty sure the Westin a.k.a. Marriott could do much better… would not recommend staying here until the owners upgrade it. Would have ranked as a 1 if it wasn’t for the remarkable staff.

Heads up, this property seems very poorly managed. There’s a lot of right hand left hand disconnect. Some of this is likely due to the pandemic and many junior staff
1) if you are a Marriott members of platinum or above there’s no breakfast on weekends
During the weeks there’s nothing
The staff doesn’t differentiate between welcome amenity and your breakfast, as with most properties there’s no lounge and it’s wildly inconvenient to have a property located next to the convention center that doesn’t have breakfast or dinner last 8 pm
2) The parking also, on weekends there’s a valet
During the week, nothing and it’s a mess, doesn’t seem at all safe for female business travelers

Self park leads you to one of the worst designed parking decks
with no signs to direct you to the elevators or where you should park

Staff appears rather nonplussed if you try to give Feedback (I suspect they didn’t care)
Unless you are attending a convention
And those don’t exist yet
Find somewhere else to stay

3) they don’t mention this but there’s no maid service. So make your own bed and if you need water
The front desk doesn’t have any
But you can purchase some in their grab and go store

And if you do decide to book this property despite the above warnings, your GPS using only the address will take you to exit 78B which is a pretty rough part of town

So input to your gps “the convention center” to save you the extra 22 miles you’ll go out of your way (11 miles each way) because the Marriott app doesn’t include zip codes

The location of the hotel is convenient for the adjacent conference center and for walking in downtown Pittsburgh. Like the norm nowadays at many big hotels, they ask at checkin if you want housekeeping, which is extra service. For a short stay it's no big deal to go without it. The room was clean and well appointed. No noise. WiFi connectivity was good. Employees were helpful.

The hotel has been closed for several months due to COVID and the night we checked in was their first night back open. They said they only had about 20 rooms occupied that first night, 60 the next, and 200 Saturday night. Traveled to Pittsburg for business so we were relieved it was open. Although the hotel is aged, it was clean. The lobby area is very welcoming. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. We asked for extra pillows and towels and they were brought to our room within 10min. We had no issues the first night, but after that we had very low water pressure. Although there were not coffee stations in the room they brought one up when we asked about it. The Westin is in a great location with several restaurants within walking distance. The restaurant in the hotel was very good and the service was great, although pricy, I highly recommend it.

I booked a king bed room at the hotel for a conference and got stuck in a room with double beds despite being alone. When I discovered it I called front desk and sent a message in the app and was told only way I could get a king was by upgrading to a corner suite for an extra 125$. Marriott claims they value gold elite members but the hotel certainly didn't make me fee it. They also don't offer any free breakfast despite being connected to the convention center and full of business travelers. The restaurants and bar they do have on-site have a similarly poor view of the Westin, with employees repeatedly bad-mouthing the hotel and saying they have no connection beyond paying rent. I'll definitely never stay here again.

Friendly helpful staff. When I needed anything the house keeper on the floor was so friendly and actually made good conversation and provided me with any amenities I needed as I was declining cleaning of my room.
The real star of the show in the hotel was the server Lynn who works in the breakfast buffet restaurant on the second floor. She is fantastic at remembering every customer and their needs. I’ve never actually seen such fantastic service in any of the other Westin’s like this one. She genuinely cares about each guest and is forever looking after you throughout your breakfast. Well done Lynn I hope this review reaches you.

I don’t know what you are referring to. I used a taxi from the airport and from the hotel back to the airport. It was a quick easy ride and it was under $40 both times.
